Dh away seeing his mum who has not been well. All three kids provided modest but appropriate gifts - flowers, chocolate, nic nack. Dd made me a cup of tea this morning. I’ve made us a lunch I enjoy, had a nap. Now going to have apple pie and cup of tea. Maybe a little gardening later. Bath and bed. Bloody perfect.

Same- cup of tea in bed. DD made me some brownies. Going out for dinner later, couldn't be better. Even DS remembered to phone!

Long lie in. Chocolates and a card. Cheap Thai meal in the pub, scones being made now. Perfect.

WompWompBoom · 30/03/2025 17:01

Lovely card from DD(12) with some gorgeous handwritten words from her and a nice bouquet of flowers.

Out for carvery with DD, My DSS (from a previous relationship) and his wife, along with his mum who's a fab friend of mine, and a lovely bunch of flowers from DSS.

Its been lovely, I've got a big chore done this PM that's been needing to get done and now chilling on the sofa.
Just an all round lovely day.

Karatema · 30/03/2025 17:03

Childminded so my DS and DDiL could have a night away.
Breakfast in bed from my DGC helped by Grandad.

Topseyt123 · 30/03/2025 17:04

My DD3 took me out for coffee and cake. It has been a lovely sunny day here and we managed to get an outdoor table out of the wind, which was lovely.

I am now on my own at home and enjoying peace and quiet. Just about to make myself a nice cup of tea and read some more of my book. Uninterrupted, for now.

Perfect. 😃

DC made cards and presents at school/Cubs/Brownies. Traditional bunch of daffs given out at church. Nice lunch in town at the seaside. Job done.

Ihatelittlefriendsusan · 30/03/2025 17:06

I have had a bloody lovely day!!

Dh got me a beautiful bouquet of flowers for being a great mum to dd (she isn't even his). Dd got me a massive bat of galaxy and a cute wooden ornament.

We had a lovely fry up for breakfast, mooched round the shops, went to the garden centre and then spent the afternoon I. The garden planting up dd's fence pots and enjoying thw sunshine.

Dd and I are now watching Moana 2 (it's shite folks don't bother) and dh is cooking me tea.

Oblomov25 · 30/03/2025 17:08

Nice.
Ds1 came back from uni for the weekend, very rare, so good. Dh cooked us all steaks Saturday night.

Both did me home made cards.
Ds2 asked me what I wanted, I asked for daffs or tulips. I got a rose plant! Ds1 bought me some Lillies.
We all went to watch ds2 play football , and ds1 ran the line, so that was nice. Now I'm taking ds2 to do his refereeing, after having just done the ironing. Then I'm cooking gammon dinner. Ds1 is working on an uni essay, I'm dropping him to the train tomorrow morning.

All very pleasant.

Beautiful cards, flowers, chocolates and a new book from my two today.

I had breakfast and coffee in bed, a drink in the sun at our local pub this afternoon (kids are teens so left them at home for an hour) and a Chinese takeaway is planned for tea.

I’ll probably have a hot bath, start the book and have an early night tonight. It’s been a really lovely day and I feel very grateful.

Hidingthegoodchocolate · 30/03/2025 17:09

DD slept over at Nana's last night so I could lie in this morning. Went round there for brunch, DD gave me her home-made card that depicted me receiving the "Nobel prize for mothering" 😁 and an eye mask. Chilling out watching a film together this afternoon. Really nice low-pressure day.

GymWanker · 30/03/2025 17:12

The best day!

Cards and chocs before the eldest went to work. He works in a cafe so I popped in there for breakfast and he didn’t resist a hug.

home to read and snooze. They are topping up my wine and DH is cooking dinner.

januarysnowdrop · 30/03/2025 17:14

Lovely flowers from my teenage dds (including origami flowers made by my youngest), I cooked a Sunday lunch for dm & dmil then went for a walk in the sunshine by the river with 12yo dd ending up with an appletizer in a pub garden. Now home with a cup of tea & a kitten fast asleep on my lap. Couldn’t be lovelier

Lovelynames123 · 30/03/2025 17:17

Dds were with their dad this morning, he dropped them off at lunchtime with flowers and chocs, then we went to my sister's for lunch with my dps. Dropped the dds back to their dad's and now have my feet up with a cuppa and my chocs, a lovely relaxing day for me 🙂

mbosnz · 30/03/2025 17:25

I'm so happy! Both my girls home, they and their Dad gave me lovely cards. I got a beautiful pair of vintage hand carved siamese cats, two beautiful potted jasmine plants, plus homemade crepes with maple syrup and cream for breakfast plus bubbles. And we're having cook-a-chook and steak sandwiches for dinner. Bliss!

DoodleDig · 30/03/2025 17:29

I was brought breakfast in bed, and given a lovely card and some chocolate. We went to see my mum for the afternoon, had some food there, which means I don't need to do any cooking or sorting of food now that we're back home. I'm now sitting and relaxing.

DarkForces · 30/03/2025 17:30

All good here. Dd 13 painted me a beautiful card, dh is making me a dinner I've chosen and we've had a good walk by the sea. We brought a picnic for lunch and had it on the beach. Ddog is absolutely shattered. She's had an even better day than me 😂

ByLemonFish · 30/03/2025 17:30

DD who lives away sent flowers (as usual) and a book (such a lovely surprise)
Husband bought me beautiful bouquet from dog and cards.
Planned Indian takeaway but bought salmon and prawns from M&S which I'll cook myself with asparagus and hollandaise sauce because I'm bit fussy
Would love to be with me children today but hopefully see them soon

MajorCarolDanvers · 30/03/2025 17:31

I was an away and came home to a lovely clean and tidy house.

have been made cups of tea all day and kids giving me small gifts after dinner.

PhilosophicalCheeseSandwich · 30/03/2025 17:33

My husband's away visiting his mum. Our kids are older teens/young adults so got themselves organised. I got tea and toast in bed and a Betty's box full of goodies for sharing. We took my mum out for lunch and my son insisted on paying the bill - it's the first time we've had this 'role reversal' of one of the kids treating me in that way, and I was so touched I shed a tear at the table. Home to watch a film with tea and cakes. A very good day for me.

HÆLTHEPAIN · 30/03/2025 17:34

I got beautiful cards and 2 lots of flowers, as well as some chocolates. And my eldest took us out for lunch. I went to see my mum with my sisters this morning and we took MIL with us for lunch, so it’s been a bloody lovely day all round.

SpeedwellBlue · 30/03/2025 17:35

I'm a widow since dds were 11 and 13. Late dh used take dds to the shops to buy me a card, flowers and chocolates. They are now 18 and 20 and they got me a card, crochet flowers and some chocolates. Dd2 drove me to a park i like (after asking what I'd like to do) and we had a lovely walk in the sun.

SandrenaIsMyBloodType · 30/03/2025 17:37

DD1 is 24 and DD2 is 19 and they still hand make my cards and write sweet and funny things about all the things I do for them. DD1 lives a couple of hours away now but she came home on Friday so that she and I could spend the day together. Lunch and a museum. It was lovely

fufulina · 30/03/2025 17:37

Lovely day! Crafted flowers (amazing) from DD2, hilarious card from DD1. Chocolates and a book. Then mostly sitting in the sun reading said book and eating said chocolates while marvelling at glory of said homemade crafty flower bouquet. With wine. (!). Perfect.

Picklepower · 30/03/2025 17:37

Lovely day, a personalised mug with pictures of DD (I did hunt at this a few weeks ago), flowers, breakfast and lunch out. I went to a yoga class and we all walked the dog. Definitely can't complain
