Just that really! I know people have come and gone, but how long have you been here? :)

20 years.

waltzingparrot · 28/03/2025 21:45

I wasn't here right at the start but definitely 22 years at least. Never left but have changed my favourites from

Breastfeeding; Toddlers; Nursery; Primary School

through all levels of education to....

(Now) What we're reading; Films; History Club; Style & Beauty; Politics and Culture Vultures.

SantaToSSD · 28/03/2025 21:49

21 years this April. Blush

RightOnTheEdge · 28/03/2025 21:49

I've been here about 14 years, since dd was born. I found Netmums and there was a thread slagging off Mumsnetters and I came over here for a nosy at the sweary, awful MNers and never went back GrinGrin

RightOnTheEdge · 28/03/2025 21:50

There doesn't seem to be as much rivelry between NM and MN as there used to be years ago.

Tcateh · 28/03/2025 21:51

22 yrs. Wtaf

Ambi · 28/03/2025 21:52

I'm sure I've joined and lurked from 2005 then properly joined the chat, conception and anti natal threads in 2007. DD is 18 this year 😯.

Ambi · 28/03/2025 21:54

Had a fab Manchester MN Xmas Do with some beautiful MNers back in the day where we bumped into Tyrone from Corrie.

SantaToSSD · 28/03/2025 21:56

Seeing Oldies here, my current username is a re-use of a name I briefly used during one Christmas. Do you remember when we used to play Santa to fellow Mumsnetters in need of a Christmas gift? I bought something for SSD but the sad thing is, I've completely forgotten who SSD was. Can anyone remember? To explain to newer Mumsnetters, a lot of us knew each other, by username anyway, and it was quite common to abbreviate some usernames to initials and still know who you were referring to. But sadly SSD's full username has escaped me.

MsFogi · 28/03/2025 21:59

I miss the days when I could read all the new post on the whole site every day!

SantaToSSD · 28/03/2025 21:59

Does Netmums still exist? I was a member there too but don't remember ever posting there. They had ticker tapes on their names "568 days since I became a Mommy" type things.

Gundogday · 28/03/2025 22:06

Trying to think back.

At least twelve years because I remember getting alot of support from the ongoing cancer thread (had breast cancer), so I’m guessing 12-15 years (under various names). There was one poster who used to post a lot (pink?) then vanished. Hopes she’s ok.

justasking111 · 28/03/2025 22:16

Got pregnant 2000 baby born 2001. The baby center sent me here. I got lots of advice about what to buy and not to buy for a new baby.

I had an email account that was hacked so started afresh. I can't recall my original name. I've come and gone over the years.

It's changed a lot. More forthright opinions. Less kindness. Representative of society perhaps.

Seriestwo · 28/03/2025 22:25

I think this place is brilliant.

thank you, Justine.

HazeyjaneIII · 28/03/2025 23:07

Joined when I'd just had dd1, who has just turned 19... looking for advice about breastfeeding.
Had dd2 13 months later, and Mumsnet was my sanity saver in those early mad days if 2 under 2, whilst moving house 3 times!
Had ds when dds were 3 and 4, and mumsnet was the one place I found people who understood, as we started a long journey to a diagnosis that would explain the many Developmental and health issues that ds has. It felt like no surprise when, 8 years later ds received a diagnosis of a very rare genetic condition, that one of the few families in the UK who had this diagnosis, was someone who I had met on mumsnet years earlier.
In those years on the SN boards I met people who have been so important to me, who I have met in rl, who 'got it' when no-one else did.. and who gave the best support, advice and place to vent.
Alongside all this is the sharp humour and intelligent debate that I have yet to find on my other site (and for a while the best wankers anywhere...)
❤️Thankyou Mumsnet❤️

20 odd years, a lifesaver, thank you everyone xx

JimothyHalpert · 29/03/2025 00:13

Damn my phone didn’t show the last option so I tapped 16-20 but it’s actually 23 years! So many usernames ago!

There’s a poster still called SSD - don’t know if it’s the same person but she still posts.

CakeUpWall · 29/03/2025 00:53

Weirdly, I remember my registration number - 1183. Pretty sure that I joined in 2000, and still log in most days. Can we see our registration details any more? Just looked and I couldn’t see anything resembling what I remember to be the relevant page.

Mumsnet is still a source of useful advice; you just have to hunt a bit harder for it these days. I’m quite adept at filtering out the tosh which comprises 90 % of the threads, sadly. <old & cantankerous >

Sparklybutold · 29/03/2025 02:13

Are you paying for a proper nightwatch team? Or still relying on volunteers and users?

LikeWhoUsesTypewritersAnyway · 29/03/2025 08:04

Wow, nearly 1000 votes now! Shock Wasn't expecting that. Smile Thanks everyone!

Lots more amazing stories of how you got here too!

Looks like around two thirds of voters (thus far) have been here 11 to 20 years! A few even longer than that! And a few more newbies clocking up now! 😄

20 years exactly. It used to be such a lovely place!

ImAChangeling · 29/03/2025 08:20

22 years!! Off and on…

OhZzzzz · 29/03/2025 08:22

Nearly 25 years and most days! Life enhancing in so many ways.

ImAChangeling · 29/03/2025 08:23

I joined when TTC (and having problems)… Some areas of the boards are so helpful still. And Mumsnet Classics are great 😊
