Just that really! I know people have come and gone, but how long have you been here? :)

14 years under various usernames. I first found MN when I was looking for baby name advice for DD. She’s 14 this summer 😁.

BorgQueen · 28/03/2025 17:26

Since 2004.

Normallynumb · 28/03/2025 17:44

I found Mumsnet when my exh left in 2010
i can honestly say it changed my life
I was in deep depression and I had just had my 3 DS’s removed by SS… I’m disabled have bipolar and was now a single parent
In Mumsnet I found a connection to every day life and 14 years it adds so much to my life. I have shared my experiences and knowledge openly so it might help others and have learnt lots along the way
I am truly grateful to you!

❤ I must say, I have found Mumsnet quite a good support too over the past 10-11 years, and it's been a great place to get advice. And there are some really funny, kind, and amazing people on here. Smile

Eldest was born the same week MN started, and first found MN when they were 9 months old. Joined a year or so after so I could post

MirandaWest · 28/03/2025 17:58

I’ve been here since 2004.

Am getting on for 50 and use either iPad or phone but don’t use the app as it annoys me.

Lavenderandbrown · 28/03/2025 18:04

I read only for a few yrs before ever posting. I wish I had found MN earlier in my life particularly during the “I think he’s abusing me cheating on me now getting divorced now navigating dating now dealing with exH who won’t leave me alone” era of my life. I think there is solid advice on here and the collective intelligence and experience of MN posters on any given topic is amazing to me. I’m not sure how I found MN but it was around Christmas time and those threads can be very entertaining. I singularly despise the words p- beaker and the visual it triggers and yet it’s already been mentioned on this very thread. Happy Birthday MN and thanks to all posters and responders

My eldest DC turned 25 last weekend, so I'd like to say I've been here since the start, but we didn't get a computer until 2004! I think I joined when I was pregnant with my 3rd in 2006, but I only used the site for baby advice for many years. I didn't discover the talk boards until around 15 years ago.

Tarkan · 28/03/2025 18:15

DC2 has just turned 17 and it was when I had PPD after giving birth that I first started reading MN. My health visitor had recommended Netmums to me and I got the name the wrong way round but tbh I don’t regret that. 😁 I can’t remember how long I lurked before I finally made a profile though.

ETA: It was reading posts on MN that made me realise I was in an awful relationship with my DC’s dad though. We split up when DC2 was 4 and I’m now happily married to DH who has been a brilliant stepdad to both DC. 🙂

merryhouse · 28/03/2025 18:15

I don't know how long I've been here because Mumsnet has such a ridiculous system you can't see your own posts.

(Yes I've tried searching all posts by merryhouse. It doesn't go back very far and it gives me posts by merrymouse and Merryoldgoat. Besides, I shouldn't have to do that.)

I think you would need to log out of merryhouse, and log into your old accounts (if you still have all the details on them) to see when you joined. I don't know if MN could help you otherwise.

I’m so glad you were able to find the support you needed - I hope things wee much better for you now.

I joined the day that moldies hit the fan.

TheJoanCollins · 28/03/2025 18:49

I think I’ve been here (on and off) for about 20 years. Have flounced off a couple of times and changed names many, many, times. I did look at Gransnet, as I am now a grandmother, but it seemed a bit ‘old’, so I’m back here 😀.

Not happy with the new Adblocker rule. I’m not turning adblocker off, so have to constantly refresh the page.

Love the style & beauty, property and holiday threads.

Have learnt the hard way, that it is not wise to start a thread on AIBU on a Friday evening. Everyone is sloshed and looking for an argument.

Edited because of bloody autocorrect failure.

I remember, that was a confusing time for the relatively new.

Samcro · 28/03/2025 19:06

Been here since 2006
been on many a good local meet up back in the day.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 28/03/2025 19:19

17 and a bit years.
I was pg with DS (first baby) and suffering from hyperemisis.

MsInterpret · 28/03/2025 19:24

Joined an Anyone Due November 2009? antenatal thread in the March of that year. Stayed for Telly Addicts, The Staffroom and a nose through Active!

Was @ raggiedoll back then.

Still in touch with those mums on SM, met some IRL and our babies will be 16 this year!

@ broodzilla
@ beckbendylegs
@ erikamaye

And many more...❤️
I've forgotten their usernames but not how much their friendship meant.

I put 16-20 but it's only been in the last 10 years I've properly posted and I name changed but this one has been consistant for a while.

LindorDoubleChoc · 28/03/2025 20:33

Joined in 2006, heard about Mumsnet thanks to Ms G Ford.

GinandRunning · 28/03/2025 20:52

My eldest DD is 25 years old this year, been here since year 1. Mumsnet has seen us through a lot !

LikeWhoUsesTypewritersAnyway · 28/03/2025 21:00

Wow, nearly 700 votes now. Thanks so much everyone for taking part, and for all the lovely posts reminiscing about the past, and posting about all the lovely memories. (And posting a few old posters names too.) I wonder if they're seeing this thread? I wonder if they're here under new names? Smile
