Have you forgotten to check the news and ensure your airport is open (hope it’s not Heathrow 😳)

A well padded cushion if you are flying from Heathrow.

I'd double check your flight status tbh, Gatwick flights may be affected too

Something to make sure you recognize your luggage. I have some weird thing where I feel no connection to one of my suitcases and will watch it pass me on the carousel without feeling anything, so I tie ribbon on it.

Take a few spare plastic carrier bags and some sandwich bags. Scissors in your hold luggage. My ex husband always carried a spoon in his hand luggage when we travelled and it was often welcome.

Screenshots of boarding passes, bookings, and addresses in case you can't access a network and need them quickly on your phone.

They don't advertise it but the galley on long haul tends to have unattended snacks which you can freely eat once meal service is over and everyone else is sleeping.

Don't try to talk to them, but be a great team mate to the other people sitting in your row.

Ibuprofen, sanitary pads, shawl, face mask ( if you are sat next to someone who is very ill).

YY to the screenshots! Or save to Files or Wallet which don't need network. Also do this for your destination address so if you don’t want to use roaming or can’t get signal you will still have a record of where you need to get to.

Also agree with a couple of carrier bags.

Yes for sure! Looking ok at the minute but very aware there will be disruption all over. Hopefully less than if we had chosen Heathrow though.

Phone charger, i’m currently in my gate so can’t get out, just noticed my charger in my bag is for my last phone, so yeah painful airport prices when I land.

Toothbrush

Big scarf/pashmina thing in case it’s chilly. I have a silk cashmere knit job that folds up to nothing.
Tissues. Print outs of everything (including copy passport and hotel directions) old fashioned but my phone died once and it was a nightmare.
