My agenda is going for a nice ride on my horse followed by a large glass of wine.

Ahem. Horse tax?

PandoraSox · 30/03/2025 12:58

We all have an agenda.

My agenda for today is gardening, Marry Me Chicken for dinner and a glass of wine to toast my absent mum (and little Tennyson's birthday😃).

Life is good.

I shall tell little Tennyson. I'm sure he will appreciate it 😁

Everyone on MN has an agenda, an angle, a bias - to pretend otherwise is staggeringly naive.

The rest of your post otherwise indicates financial ignorance, with respect.

Reading back on your comments here, X, can you begin to see why people may not wish to engage with you? Adding "with respect" on to the end of insults about naivety and ignorance doesn't actually make your comment respectful.

She knows. No point in telling her.

Cheguevarahamster · 30/03/2025 13:37

Happy birthday to Tennyson @ilovesooty .
Happy mothers day all. 🌷🌷🌷
Extra nasturtium tax added. (not my cat!)
My agenda is lunch with MIL, and family. Then home to drink wine and do some cross stitch and watch some rubbish TV.

My agenda will be watching Bournemouth v Manchester City later. I might have a chippy tea to celebrate if City win. If they don't I've got some hotel accommodation at Wembley to cancel.

I do appreciate that my ‘delivery’ may sometimes grate, but I cannot abide hypocrisy or ludicrous falsehoods.

Let’s at least be honest, or make a decent fist of doing so.

Saucery · 30/03/2025 13:43

Gosh @countrygirl99 , what a fantastic horse that is! You must be very proud to have brought up and ride such a magnificent creature! ❤️❤️

Saucery · 30/03/2025 13:46

Is she/he a Clydesdale? We don’t have many round here but we see more when we travel up towards the NE and Borders.

The thing is, you expect us to believe everything you say about your financial expertise without question. And then you quote from the Telegraph. Hence our scepticism.

Economics is a complex field. There are eminent experts on both sides. Give us links, give us evidence, give us something to work with and above all give us a little courtesy. It should be clear to you by now that we have several posters on these threads whose politics are right of centre. They are welcome because they post respectfully. You could be welcome too, but not if you carry on as you are.

PickAChew · 30/03/2025 13:52

I'm slightly terrified of horses (yes, I surprised myself when I realised this) but from this safe distance I can appreciate that that one is a beaut.

I will happily share my financial knowledge, and I accept that other posters have experience of, say, the welfare system etc.

In future, I shall reply stating why I disagree with a particular post.

Piggywaspushed · 30/03/2025 13:54

That horse is the stuff of legend.

ilovesooty · 30/03/2025 13:55

I don't know how I feel about watching interviews with members of the electorate in Ashington who didn't realise what the approach of Reform is regarding the NHS.

"I thought Reform were for the British people"

"I thought Reform were better than that"

🙄

BIossomtoes · 30/03/2025 13:57

Gorgeous horse. My agenda today is to go for a walk in the sunshine, enjoy the delicious dinner Mr B is cooking me and reading some more of my book. Your curry sounds delicious @pointythings, it incorporates two of my favourite foods.

countrygirl99 · 30/03/2025 14:01

He's a fresian/traditional cob cross. That photo is a few years ago he's old and a bit creaky now and had to have a eye removed a couple of years ago. These days we just potter around and I give him mints.

Locally he really is 😆.

The issue with the ISAs was that they weren’t benefiting U.K. smaller companies.

The stroke of a pen could have created a class of "UK ISA" which specifically and only invests in UK companies, for a slightly better tax relief.

In fact, a 2 minute chat in the canteen queue while they faff around with preparing the vegan in fronts order throws up more solutions than could be tried in a century.

The lack of imagination - that failure to be bold - is what really holds us back. And - for the terminally dim - being bold is not a synonym for being a cunt.

Joining the customs union, hoovering up all that free money ? Imaginative and bold.
Targeting the most vulnerable like never before ? Unimaginative and cunty..

You have the best way with words 😊

Is “with respect” the new

“just saying” or “I don’t mean to offend but …..”

That's Ashington for you. It's weirdly like no other part of the North East.

itsgettingweird · 30/03/2025 14:18

Country your horse is beautiful. How have you kept him hidden behind d all the marvellous cats and dogs?

my agenda today is to try and battle through this current cluster bout - I did the crematorium which was crazily busy, costa and petrol!

I have done 200 sit ups. Now for legs and arms and then cook dinner, hoover and mop.

them bath and bed and hope this young breaks because I’m up at 4am to take ds training and then go to work!

Actually I've done its residents a disservice. The interview was in Ashfield - Lee Anderson's constituency. Mea Culpa.

Well if Reform or the Tories get in next time, it will be Labour's welfare cuts on steroids, so still not a good plan.

I’ve never been on welfare luckily, but I’m not risking stocks and shares in this volatile financial climate.
