3K a month benefits

applecrumble03 · 19/03/2025 10:22

I had made a previous post which I believe had been taken down over a lady giving me £10 for no reason, in no way was that post to brag about my benefits I had stated how much I get a month to show I’m not struggling for money so the only reason can be I was judged on my appearance and then someone had asked if this is benefits which I said yes as I have no reason to lie. I have read a few notifications on my drop down and people saying I’m doing this to wind people up and there is no way I get 3K a month benefits, I was asking a genuine question. Some comments were quite rude. So here is how -

Universal credit for me and 2 kids plus LCWRA
£1775 - my rent gets taken straight from this I get paid £1225
high rate adult disability payment £734
Child disability payment x2 £868
Child benefit £42 a week
Scottish child payment £213

minus rent £3208 paid directly to me per month.

Now no this is not fair to people who have to work. However they are able bodied people and it’s not my fault I would much rather be healthy and live a normal life.

Why? Why would they go into care if she got, for example, 25k rather than 52k?

Because she may not cope as-well on 25k. The point is the Government have decided disabled children are entitled to a certain level of financial aid if cared for at home by their parents and this is far less than what they pay for children in full time care.

Full time care paid for by the Government is an option open to all parents if they decide they can’t cope financially, physically or emotionally looking after their children anymore. You can decide to abandon your child you know, it happens to many disabled and unwanted children all around the world.

Fancyquickthinker · 19/03/2025 11:02

If you 'need' this money for all of your familiies disabilities then the system is working - however it does seem a really high amount when most people working do not earn that for their families.

Benefit bashers frothing on a Wednesday morning. What a life to live.

I’m also laid in bed in excruciating agony. Living the same days over and over again. You do need assessments and the doctors confirmation to the assessors to receive these benefits. So how can I be a basher because your healthy and I’m not.

Yes, they over promised and are now rowing back. We can’t be surprised when there are families being paid as much as 2 full time nurses.

You aren’t paid, you’re given benefits.

So are you sharing this to say that benefits are better than working or just stating a fact that this is how much you get? Good for you... I guess 🤷🏼‍♀️

She gets raised much because herself and 2 children are disabled. Other people on benefits get nowhere as much as that

@applecrumble03 since you get high rate PIP, do you have a physical disability or look really unwell?. I guessvthats why she gave you the money

You don't think calling 2 children who clearly have severe disabilities "cash cows" is disgusting?

If that was your question you could have simply asked what her plan was when her children are 18.

Where is it clear the kids are ‘severely’ disabled?

OP’s benefits are not going to change.

Most nurses I know empathise with the demands of being and caring for disabled children.

They appreciate the education and professional training they received to become a professional nurse. Nobody forced them to become a nurse, they had a choice.

Like I said we all benefit from living in a society one way or another.

By the higher rate payments they get.

Scotland is also undergoing benefit reform as Westminster is reducing their budget.

applecrumble03 · 19/03/2025 10:39

you get a carer, cleaner and such for free in Scotland if you qualify for these benefits. My children’s dad does school runs and things.

WOW, I should move to Scotland 😵

How do you manage to care for 2 severely disabled kids if you are always in bed in agony?

OneQuirkyPanda · 19/03/2025 11:08

I’m not really sure I’m understanding the point of saying “it would cost more for them to be in care” or “would you swap your healthy children for 3k in benefits?” I thought the purpose of these benefits was to provide a safety net for vulnerable people to help with living costs and prevent them falling into poverty, not to reward them for not putting their kids in care or to compensate them for being disabled?

People are quite rightly asking if 3k+ a month plus a free cleaner and carers goes beyond supporting someone with living costs, but OP doesn’t seem interested in explaining why this amount of money is needed.

Upsetbetty · 19/03/2025 10:29

What are the disabilities you all have?

I was hit by a car as a child and in intensive care for months. I became disabled I also developed serious mental health disorders due to the trauma. That and I lived in an abusive home and was put into care where I was in CHAMS from the age of 8 where I was diagnosed with autism and ADHD, I developed chronic illnesses as I became older doctors believe this due to trauma.

with me having autism and adhd my kids also got this and I get extra for them due to my condition.

all this is confirmed by doctors letters, phone calls assessments before you’re entitled to the benefits you need hard cold evidence.

OP and her children shouldn’t have to live in poverty because she’s disabled and unable to work. I’m happy to be able bodied and able to contribute to her living a comfortable life. It has no bearing on OPs right to receive that money that other people receive an unfair amount… direct your anger at the government for that.

Why are you hoping to have another baby then?

Sahara123 · 19/03/2025 11:09

What on earth is this poster going on about? I live in Scotland with my disabled daughter, we’ve had Pip for years although it’s recently change to Adult Disability payment. And where’s my free cleaner etc I’m obviously missing out on something here !

Is anything less than 52k poverty?

You have no reason at all to have posted what you get on your last thread nor on here. You could have easily made your situation clear without that. All you're doing is making life worse for people who are really struggling on benefits. You're either real and getting some sick kick out of doing this or you are posting to encourage benefit bashing. There is absolutely no good or positive reason for either of your threads. And yes I've reported you, not troll hunting just disgusted.

Whelmed · 19/03/2025 11:11

There are also lot of costs that need covering when you're disabled and have disabled children.

The point is simple one option costs x amount and the other option costs xxxxx amount!

That is why OP is entitled to x amount because the Government will do a cost risk benefit analysis and they will have decided that supporting people with x amount is better than xxxx amount!

That is why we all live in a society and we are Governed. They get to decide not any individual who just doesn’t get it.

I don’t use my kids as cash cows, child benefit and Scottish child payment everyone is entitled to?

Not everyone in Scotland gets the child payment. Only those on benefits.

I had my daughter at 16 my son at 17 I’m 21 now I was healthier when she was a baby they have grew up with me why would I put them into care because my conditions got worse as I got older. I love my kids. They are the only thing that keep me in this miserable painful body.
