When they said they was making one assessment for pip and lcwra does that mean if you lose pip you also lose lcrwa.
Will this only effect new claimants or also people renewing pip
I just wanted the question answering if anyone knows not pages and pages of people's opinion on disability and benefits tia
Also before anyone says anything i do work

Yes I think it does mean that

Happypeoplearehappy · 19/03/2025 07:15

I think it is going to be much harder to qualify for either. The criteria is going to be much stricter so to score you will need help going to the toilet and wiping yourself after something along those lines.

They are hoping to get rid of the UC LCRWA all together for mostly everyone but the totally physically dependent candidates.

Do you know if that's just new claimants or people renewing pip aswell. I find it all really confusing

When i did my lcwra they finished the call before I'd got to the mh stuff as they said they had enough with just the physical stuff. Pip was a lot harder I hot high rate for both components in the end but only after the lies they had stated where challenged. Do you know if the level of pip you get will also effect the amount of lcwra you get

No point in worrying or trying to predict the future deal with what comes and get advice at the time.

Nobody knows exactly how it will all play out.

Differentstarts · 19/03/2025 07:22

I'm glad they are going to record assessments as standard. I had 2 assessments with pip the first one went terrible the blatant lies that where told then the 2nd one was recorded the lady was really nice and everything was written correctly and I got high rate for both straight of

That's more what I was asking is it that it hasn't been decided yet or is it me not understanding what they where saying. If it hasn't been decided then fair enough.

Wait til your assessment, get advice then.

It won't be for another year yet I was just trying to understand what was said yesterday

It could change again in that time try to live and enjoy your life. Deal with whatever comes when you have to. I am in my 50’s now and it’s been a hard lesson for me to learn but try to live in the moment worrying about stuff that has yet to happen and is out of our control is not going to help.

Viviennemary · 19/03/2025 07:34

It made no sense to me either. Is it going to affect new claimants or just existing ones. Is everybody going to be reassessed. It is very wrong of them to put out such unclear information so everyone is now totally stressed. At least the winter fuel payment decision was crystal clear. Nobody got it who wasn't on benefits.

Pigeonqueen · 19/03/2025 07:40

I’m confused about this as well. It’s the one thing that they breezed over without explaining properly.

I don’t have a reassessment date for either my lcwra or PIP (both open ended, indefinite awards) so I’m not sure whether that still stands from the lcwra or not! I hope so. All very confusing.

Lyannaa · 19/03/2025 08:00

It hasn’t even got through parliament yet, so I wouldn’t worry because some parts of it are going to have to be made way more specific.

That is a positive move.

Not true - my Dad didn’t get the winter fuel benefit. No pension credits, no private pension. Just the full state pension based on 50 years of full time work.

This . There may be lots of changes to the proposals before the become law.

I am sorry @Differentstarts it is a really worrying time for the disabled. The MN bigots are having a lovely time bashing disabled people, though.

Your Dad wasn't on benefits. So he didn't get the winter fuel payment. So not sure what you mean by not true.

“Nobody got it who wasn’t on benefits”

My Dad isn’t on benefits.

Yes, he wasn't on benefits so he didn't get it, as @viviennemary says!

That’s what @Viviennemary said. If you weren’t on benefits you didn’t get it.

You’re right. I was confused by the double negative. I’m not overly bright!

Viviennemary · 19/03/2025 08:45

Sorry when I re-read what I'd written it wasn't really very clear at all. My fault I apologise.

Differentstarts · 19/03/2025 10:03
