How close is your closest IKEA?

My nearest IKEA is 45 minutes away (on a good day).

A product was out of stock and I was looking for alternative stores and I was surprised at how few stores they actually have.

90 miles away . My nearest one is Gateshead , Newcastle.

JoyousEagle · 18/03/2025 13:02

10 minutes

TabbyM · 18/03/2025 13:02

There is a tiny one within a half hour by bus but its really just an ordering point and has very little even in food that you can just buy.

Three hours by train to a decent one where can you buy hoover cakes and thermal jugs and anything else random

Turmerictolly · 18/03/2025 13:03

About a 20 minute drive away, sometimes I pop in for tea and then end up spending £100 on things I don’t need!

sanityisamyth · 18/03/2025 13:04

20 mins or so, and another one within an hour.

DramaAlpaca · 18/03/2025 13:04

At least a two hour drive away. Luckily for my bank account.

PunishmentRoundupWithJoon · 18/03/2025 13:04

Literally across the road. Can see the big blue ugly fucker from my flat. Tempted to post a pic!

wishiwasjoking · 18/03/2025 13:05

Too far so literally never go. I'd rather pick up something a bit more different looking from Home Sense or go to Dunelm than be herded around a warehouse with no natural light for hours on end.

Strokethefurrywall · 18/03/2025 13:05

500 miles. Closest is in Miami 😞

Workingmumlife1 · 18/03/2025 13:05

I can walk 😱

BishBashBoomer · 18/03/2025 13:06

4.4km then 6.4km. A collection point at 3.7km.

GameOfJones · 18/03/2025 13:07

About 45 mins drive. We go a few times a year.

PolliFlinders · 18/03/2025 13:09

200 miles!

MrTiddlesTheCat · 18/03/2025 13:11

I have 4 all around an hour away. But I'm in Sweden so not surprising.

Tarkan · 18/03/2025 13:11

For a big proper warehouse one where you can see everything then it’s 80 miles which I think is around an hour and three quarters to drive.

For one that’s just an order and collection point it’s around 50 miles in the other direction, around an hour to drive there.

We’re meant to be getting another one around 20 miles away but I think it’s another order and collection point one.

Carnation25 · 18/03/2025 13:12

About an hour, but they do deliver orders to our local Tesco which is about 5 minutes away and I can pick up there.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 18/03/2025 13:13

we’re equidistant from the Croydon and Southampton branches. The Southampton one’s car park is such a shit show that I’d rather drive back into London to the Croydon one. Used to live 15 minutes from the Croydon one and I miss it!

Hurdlin · 18/03/2025 13:15

5 hours away

Borborygmus · 18/03/2025 13:17

I've no idea, I don't recall ever seeing one!

We're between Reading and Southampton and never go to Southampton.

HousedInMySoul · 18/03/2025 13:18

12 minutes drive or 51 minutes walk, according to Google maps. I've not been for years, though

TallulahBetty · 18/03/2025 13:19

40 mins (Wednesbury).

TallulahBetty · 18/03/2025 13:19

Workingmumlife1 · 18/03/2025 13:05

I can walk 😱

That would be far too convenient for me, I'd have to stop myself from going every week

StamppotAndGravy · 18/03/2025 13:20

10 mins by bus, but the direct bus stop is 500m to IKEA which seriously limits what we buy. Kallaxi double in weight every 50m

fourquenelles · 18/03/2025 13:23

20 minutes by direct bus from the bottom of my road. I don't know why I don't go more often although I do tend to get the urge during half term when it's a bit nightmarish.
