Stolen wombat

What sort of person steals a baby wombat from its mother and leaves it in the road? The Australian prime minister has suggested that next time she tries to steal a baby crocodile!

Stupid brainless woman. I hope karma gets her.

DailyCake · 14/03/2025 11:26

The worst bit was the poor mummy wombat chasing after the idiot of an 'influencer'. And the arsehole, laughing as he filmed it. I was furious.

Dolambslikemintsauce · 14/03/2025 11:26

Have tried to see if they got it reunited with it's mother... That woman should be prosecuted...

She's described as a "Hunting Influencer" which probably explains a lot.

She's left Australia and hopefully lost her visa, stupid pair of idiots. I hope they both get prosecuted, wombats are a protected species.

FeralWoman · 14/03/2025 11:30

Mum and baby were reunited immediately. Mum was ready to throw paws at the idiot. Hopefully baby didn’t die from stress. Marsupials can easily die from stress.

She also picked up a wild echidna. Moron. Leave it the fuck alone.

The person has left Australia now. Authorities were considering charging her with wildlife offences and animal cruelty and then deporting her.

The fact that people prop up "influencers", who are pointless wastes of space, probably explains a lot too.

MaloryJones · 14/03/2025 11:43

Horrible Woman.
These Influencers, imo, are all desperate Look at Meee types.

stringsoup · 14/03/2025 11:49

Idiotic behaviour, I hope she makes no profit from it 😠

MichaelandKirk · 14/03/2025 11:51

I have been to Oz many times. They hate this sort of thing and what was the silly bint thinking of. The Mum running after her when she stole her baby was horrible.

Hopefully she will not be allowed back into Australia EVER!

Assumingthebest · 14/03/2025 11:53

Apparently it is legal to kill wombats in Australia on private land, just saying. It's in the Guardian.

DailyCake · 14/03/2025 11:56

I wish the Australian gov't would still prosecute her for the offence.

She left Oz because she received death threats and the 'hate was too much to handle'.

Soubriquet · 14/03/2025 11:57

She has left Australia now after an “apology”

A video has also come up with her holding an echidna. She needs prosecuting, fining and banning from there

Meadowfinch · 14/03/2025 11:57

Just one more stupid, ignorant 'influencer'.

NewMarmiteJar · 14/03/2025 12:00

Appalling behaviour from a very silly girl. Never mess with the Australians when it comes to their native animals.

The fact she’s a hunter to boot really says it all. I’m hopeful it triggers a wider conversation about the disgusting business of trophy hunting.

Soubriquet · 14/03/2025 12:02

I would also love to hold a wombat. And a kangaroo joey, but I’m not stupid enough, or selfish enough to steal one from its distressed mother just for a cuddle and a photo.

I would try and find a rescue centre and see if they allowed it there instead

JadeSeahorse · 14/03/2025 12:03

Pity it wasn't an inland Taipan she decided to pick up. 🤬

Absolutely heartbreaking seeing mum wombat running down the road desperate for her baby.😥

TwattyMcFuckFace · 14/03/2025 12:06

She's a stupid brainless prick.

But you watch all the other stupid brainless pricks who will now follow her due to the publicity!

Pedallleur · 14/03/2025 12:08

Does she not claim to be a 'widlife biologist'?

notprincehamlet · 14/03/2025 12:10

Just when you thought the world had reached peak dickhead, along came influencers.

And their "followers" aren't much better, brainless idiot's, the lot of them.

Upupandaway10 · 14/03/2025 12:13

Complete idiot. I was so angry at her and person filming it.

I did love the Australian guys response. We need politicians like that not afraid to speak and call out people for stupid behaviour.

Our stupid weak government would be scared to say she was wrong in case they offended her.

Most zoos will have meet the animals type of things where you can pay extra for a behind the scenes up close experience with some animals. That’s how you’ll get to hold a koala in some Australian states. Others have banned it.

Alternatively volunteer with a wildlife rescue group and help look after some orphan babies. Wombats need bottle feeding for quite a long time.

bifurCAT · 14/03/2025 12:24

I know it's a serious matter but I half expected this thread to be someone coming home like, "wtf, where's my wombat?!

Manchesterbythesea · 14/03/2025 12:24

I read somewhere on the news that the baby wombat has mange. I hope this woman held him long enough to have a severe long lasting dose of mange.
