Cheese every day

It would make an interesting Hugh Fearnley book!

If I could have my own way I would rarely eat hot food.

I would live on a combination of:
Avocado with cheese
Fruit with cheese
Nuts with cheese
Crackers with cheese
Olives with cheese
Ham with cheese
Crusty french baguette with cheese
Grilled cheese, maybe..

But life isn't that simple, and it could potentially unbalance my diet. I tend to eat fairly well in general, but whenever I have to compile a shopping list, like today, I start dreaming about this list. Of course I do eat cheese with these things, but not all of the time like I'd prefer to.

Anyone else have an unwavering desire or food preference like that?

BTW it's lighthearted, how could it not be!?

Cheese is absolutely disgusting. I know it's in chat but yabvu. I'd be happy if it was banned.

loropianalover · 11/03/2025 14:37

I love cheese but couldn’t be without hot food OP! I love mac & cheese.

I really agree about fruit and cheese though. Any time I’m having grapes I just find myself thinking about cheese.

I was once on a bike ride and we stopped off to grab a snack, it still stands out in my memory as the tastiest, most enjoyable meal I have ever experienced, and I've eaten in a few nice places, inc around the world..

It consisted of a mini pack of applewood cheddar, a bag of dried fruit and nuts, and a handful of grapes. This was 15 years ago and it never leaves Grin

I like noodles. Like decent ones, not like pot noodles. I eat noodles nearly every day, also miso soup.

Even worse, the past few months I’ve gotten Dh onto noodles and miso soup. Our noodle and miso expenditures in the weekly Tesco order are notable. 😂

Love how this thread has an ad/link to weight management in the middle 😂
If I ate all the cheese I wanted I’d be clinically obese.
I’d add fruitcake or tea loaf with cheese to your list. Delicious 🤤

At least you would have happy bones from plenty of calcium (unlike the multitude of dairy avoiders).

Can I add cheese on toast with mushrooms and Worcestershire sauce to your wish list please?

Chewbecca · 11/03/2025 15:59

Oh and don't forget a really crunchy proper jacket potato topped with lots of butter and cheddar.

(Not helping?!)

ExtraDecluttering · 11/03/2025 16:00

Cheese for me too, I rarely go a day without eating any, the stronger the better.

AuntieMarys · 11/03/2025 16:05

I bloody love cheese. Eat it most days. Tonight I'm making portobello mushrooms stuffed with spinach, garlic and a very strong cheddar.

GiddyRobin · 11/03/2025 16:09

I'm with you, OP. I love food and cooking, trying all different kinds of things...but at the end of the day, if I could live off a nice charcuterie board of different cheese, fruits, nuts, olives, sundried tomatoes, and cucumber? I'd be happy. I'd probably throw some rocket in there too. And crackers. And crusty bread. With nice salted butter.

But the cheese is the main item.

<Wanders off to fridge to see if that's possible for tonight's dinner> 😁

SantaToSSD · 11/03/2025 16:11

I love cheese but if we're talking about food we eat everyday for me it is chocolate. Now that is unhealthy.

SallyWD · 11/03/2025 16:13

I love cheese - I often have cheese based meal for breakfast, lunch and dinner!

Somethingthecatdraggedin7 · 11/03/2025 16:14

There are very few things which aren’t improved by the addition of cheese.
I feel like Wallace now!

No. You're wrong.

And also there are so many different types. How can you dislike all of them. Cream cheese is different from cheddar which is different from Brie which is different from Stilton which is different from mozzarella. Surely there is one that you like?!!

madaffodil · 11/03/2025 16:17

I had a cheese and onion roll for lunch today.

SoScarletItWas · 11/03/2025 16:20

Peanut butter. I cannot get enough of it.

I have breakfast late, about 10.30/11, and put a dollop of PB in my porridge.

I have a few rice cakes late afternoon and a scrape of PB on those. (Left to my own devices, it would be rather more than a scrape.)

Pancake day was heaven as it was an excuse to have PB and banana in my pancakes.

Three PB meals in one day. Bliss.

offmynut · 11/03/2025 16:24

Not one but all cheeses yuk.
I dont eat it wont eat it wont buy it.

I don't know which side of the Marmite gap you fall on, but PB is lovely with it. So nice on rice crackers. Or even better - butter two slices of bread. Marmite on one slice, PB on the other. Cheddar cheese on whichever piece you desire. Put together, cut in half, and it's the most delicious sandwich ever.

Hohofortherobbers · 11/03/2025 16:44

Love corn on the cob Star

whatisforteamum · 11/03/2025 16:45

Love the stuff and do have a piece most days.
So versatile and delicious in moderation.

Chuchoter · 11/03/2025 16:50

Wallace, is that you?

I love cheese! Cheese is good!

I had a cheese and tomato toastie. I have a lot of cheese and tomato toasties.

maximalistmaximus · 11/03/2025 18:13

I eat cheese every day. I have had countless days where I've had it at every meal. It's a very nutritious food.

SnowMoss · 11/03/2025 18:14

I'm now getting an ad for an American style fridge! Grin
More room to store my collection if cheeses...

My dad ran a small continental cheese company when I was a child, the storage absolutely stank! I didn't know how lucky I was as continental cheeses are my absolute favourite now. Didn't go near the stuff until I left home, and then it crept in slowly..
