Which one would it be? Missing persons, unsolved murders or even random unexplained events.

OP posts:

Mary Bastholm dissappeared from a bus stop in Gloucester, possibly another Fred West victim. Can't remember the date.

Clydach murders. 3 generations of the same family murdered in 1 night. House was then set ablaze in order to try and hide evidence.
A man was convicted who has since passed away in prison but I just want to be sure if it was him or not. Lots of documentaries, books claiming it wasn't.
Aside from this definitely Claudia Lawrence.

David Morris was not the Clydach murderer, this case was a miscarriage of justice covered up by South Wales Police. Three of their officers were implicated in it, one of which was having a lesbian affair with Mandy Power, the other two were twin brothers, one of which was married to Mandy's lover. David Morris wouldn't have had the forensic knowledge to clear the crime scene, unlike 3 serving police officers

The Al Hilli’s and the cyclist in the French Alps

Yes, that's an interesting one. I got the impression the French police made up their mind quickly what they thought had happened rather than keep an open mind and explore different options. Not to mention later finding the passport they claimed had been stolen and leaving the little girl under the dead bodies for hours when she was alive.

The twins who died in Aberdeen recently. They were Hungarian and were from a set of triplets.

Is it a mystery?

There was a boy, can anyone help me remembr his name. Might have been Luke or Lee. And he disappeared after he may have found something out about he dodgy church youth group where young girls were abused there and he had been perhaps trying to expose it and he might have been killed as they Found a bloody mattress at the church. It was a story on a documentary and his dad was a choir singer singing a song about missing children and that he hoped he was still alive and safe and well. Heartbreaking story.

Boxell?

Pootle40 · 02/03/2025 16:17

Would love to see JobBenet case solved albeit the only mystery is which member of her family killed her and that there has been no justice.

Pootle40 · 02/03/2025 16:17

JonBenet I mean

Alexandra2001 · 02/03/2025 16:21

Genette Tate, i was barely a teenager when this happened, it removed my innocence of life down here.

The poor father died a few years ago, never knowing for sure what happened to her.

Andrew Gosden. I think about him often.

Same. I listened to a podcast about his disappearance and it really stuck with me. The way he was described reminded me so much of my own son. His family seemed very close and they have suffered so much, it’s absolutely heartbreaking. I wish they had answers.

AuxArmesCitoyens · 02/03/2025 16:27

The Al-Hilli Annecy shootings. Can't make head nor tail of it.

As there are so many unsolved murders I can’t prioritise one over the other so I think I’d choose Marilyn Monroe’s death. That’s always going to be a mystery, full of contradictions so it would be nice to clear that up once and for all.

I've read quite a few books on the death of Marilyn Monroe over the years. Because of her involvement with the Kennedys and being investigated by the FBI there was a lot of confidential information which wasn't allowed to be eleased for so many years.

The last book I read called The Assassination of Marilyn Monroe more or less came to the conclusion that she was killed by Bobby Kennedy or someone in his circle. I'm not usually someone who believes in conspiracies but I don't think it was suicide.

I’ve read many books too and I don’t think she deliberately offed herself either. It would be good to know the absolute definitive truth of what really happened that day.

WatchOutMissMarpleIsAbout · 02/03/2025 16:49

Could have been an accidental overdose. I one time couldn’t remember if I’d taken my RA medication and was about to take another. I then wtf am I doing, a missed day is better than too much.

Shergar
Keith Bennett
All other missing children

Arlene Fraser

Sure there's more that I can't think of right now

Shergar has been solved.

Shergar - Wikipedia

Shergar was machine gunned to death. There was blood everywhere and the horse even slipped on his own blood. There was lots of cussin' and swearin' because the horse wouldn't die. It was a very bloody death.[52]

This is exactly why I want the mystery solved.

FelixDoublyDelicious · 02/03/2025 18:10

The death of my childhood friend. Never proved, but we all know who did it

Londonmummy66 · 02/03/2025 18:49

I'd also be interested in finding out what happened and why with the Marconi suicides in the 1980s - there were rather a lot of them which suggests something odd going on.

Dutchhouse14 · 02/03/2025 18:52

My mums cousin was murdered at 11 and her murderer was never found so I'd really her murder to be solved although there's a high chance her murderer is now dead.
Other than that
Jack the ripper
And
Madeleine McCann

ChampagneSuperNova00 · 02/03/2025 18:52

There was a woman called Julia Webb who lived near us and got murdered walking her dog in the 90’s/00’s I think and it was never solved.

i walk my dog near there and am a similar age so think about it a lot , i once found myself in the actual lane and felt really uneasy.

Any outdoors murder/mysteries tend to bother me more because it feels like it could happen to anyone

Andrew Gosden.

Probably less seriously but I'd like to know once and for all whether there's any grain of truth in the 'Paul is Dead' conspiracy.

I first heard about them back in the early 2000s when I read a fictional novel about aliens. The author had done a lot of research for the book and had come up against various obstacles where people who had worked in defence programmes who said they would talk to him.suddenly became unavailable. At the back of the book there was a list of scientists over quite a long period of time whose deaths were either listed as accidental or suicide. They had all been working on a "Star Wars" defence programme. Very interesting.

WhineAndWine1 · 02/03/2025 19:13

@Pootle40 I agree it's not a mystery. It was very likely one fell in the other tried to save her and sadly both drowned

WhineAndWine1 · 02/03/2025 19:16

My one would be the Manchester canal deaths. Was it just accident after accident in a high traffic drinking area or is there a pusher?
