What is something ‘weird’ that you do that other people don’t?

I take a blanket to the cinema 🤷‍♀️😂

Pour and empty a glass three times before filling it to drink.
It looks a bit OCD, but it stems from old lead pipes in our house and we were told running the water for so long would minimise the risk of lead contamination. I'd lose track of counting, but three pours and refills just about covered it and I've never lost the habit. I literally can't drink it if I think it's straight from the tap.

I do this! And I never knew why! But my mum grew up in a very old house and I expect she got into the habit of it

I have to wet - and not dry - the soles of my feet before getting into bed, otherwise I can’t sleep because they feel all wrong. I’ve tried moisturiser but nothing is as good as plain old water!

If I wake up in the middle of the night, I’ll go to the bathroom and re-wet them.

I also loathe wearing socks and most of the time don’t bother, even in winter, and like being totally barefoot the best. Maybe I’ve got a weird sensory foot thing?

I also take a blanket to the cinema. A big fluffy one.

I 'trace' things all day long when I'm watching TV for example. I'll trace a person's eyes, nose, mouth. Sort of as if I'm imagining drawing them. It's not just people though it's furniture, the curtain rail and rings etc.

Autistic with OCD tendencies so I appreciate that that's a bit of a weird one.

I trace around things as well especially if my big toe is in line with something.

I also write out conversations in shorthand with my finger while I'm speaking to people.

I have to have wet feet too at night! I keep a spray bottle of water by my bed!

I dip chocolate in a cup of tea
Sometimes I have just half a packet of crisps and fold the packet up for later. Infact I have a lot of half things - half a biscuit for example.....im actually quite embarrassed by it.

LuckyManifestations · 10/07/2025 23:14

I hold my breath when people pass me in the street if I think they will have BO.
Its not a particular type of person, its just random.
I do the same if anyone bends over in front of me, just incase I can smell anything Blush

i sometimes when thinking/having conversations in my head ,count the letters in my head on my fingers, well by thinking of my fingers not moving them

I do exactly this. I need to make it even so will do it with the punctuation included if it's odd. I can't believe how many people do the same thing, I thought I was the sole weirdo. I remember the day I first started doing it (I had just started secondary school) and I think it's stress related.

I do it too.
I count letters, words, numbers and vary my counting logic until it ‘ fits’

Me too! And the next dream is like a sequence or next episode and I can remember while dreaming ah yes this x and x place from x time ago and the plot is now continiuing. So weird and so vivid😊

Me too! Sometimes I can also change what happens in them.

So weird isn't it :-) Whenever I'm running or being chased in a dream I get slower and slower and almost unable to move and then I say to myself, you know this happens every time, stop wait a few sec and start running again and it works (then, after some time I have to repeat it lol)

I always thank Siri!!

I try to keep my mind blank when someone passes me... just in case they are a mind reader.

I use salad cream as a dip with pizza 😱

You are a GENIUS! What a great idea, thank you! I don’t know why, but dry they just feel all wrong! Reading the thread is reassuring - we’re not the weirdest 😂

Not weird. That is lush. Is why I wont keep salad cream in the house as I will have it with everything!

Kleya25 · 12/07/2025 02:51

Think things through to their logical conclusion - I sometimes feel like I'm the only (non clinical) person in my NHS employing organisation who does!!

Does anyone else stroke their neck? The skin on the front of the throat where it's lovely and soft? I've always stroked it when I'm tired or worried but don't know anyone else who does. I did it as a child too. I sometimes wear a necklace and pretend to play with it but I'm really just stroking my neck. I know it sounds weird.

Not my neck, but I do stroke my fingers if I’m stressed, worried, nervous or upset

I do this if I’m going near rubbish or poo bin !

I never go a day without a song in my head

I do this too. It's to make sure that it's cool enough before I drink it. However, I doubt that many other people say "In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" whilst doing so.

Snowmanscarf · 17/07/2025 11:12

Put lipstick in the fridge to harden up, as it melts/softens due to the heat.

girlfriend44 · 17/07/2025 11:36

Sometimes I take a spare pair of knickers out with.
I always take water, out with me and headache tablets.
I photograph lots of things so that I've got a memory of it, for example a birthday card, I sent, a letter I wrote, always handy to refer back too.
I often put the date in ppls cards so that there is a record, for example, bottom of card in the corner.
17/07/2005.

scalt · 19/07/2025 11:50

In hot weather, I soak my t-shirt to keep myself cool.

LillyPJ · 19/07/2025 12:46

I don't know if this counts as weird but I don't know anyone else who does it - I like fairly short nails and when I feel they're getting too long, I cut them with nail clippers. They end up a bit 'angular' and could do with filing but I also hate the feel of the file. So I just leave them and by the next day they seem to have smoothed out all by themselves. No idea how this works but it does!

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 19/07/2025 14:32

I just invited dh to come and ‘lick out’ the bowl, after making chocolate fairy cakes for Gds’s bday party. Dh was happy to oblige.

Maybe not unusual, I don’t know!

Forgottenmyphone · 19/07/2025 14:47

I dip rice cakes in toffee yogurt.
