What time do you go to bed?

My husband goes up at 9.30pm and I think that's silly early?! I suppose he is 49 with a badly sleeping and bedsharing 4 yo!

I go up at around 10pm as I get a bit bored downstairs on my own but never sleep until around 11ish.

My 17 yo is asleep by 10.30 because he's sensible, and my 15 yo...well...silly o' 'clock!!

I just think 9.30pm is early, but happy to stand corrected?

i resolved to go to bed at 9 just the other day but haven’t made it yet. Last night was midnight as I was scrolling which is unusual for me, and I regret this morning as that was my last chance to get a good night’s sleep for a while.

The kids usually aren’t asleep til 8:30, sometimes 9, so it’s then depressing to not have an evening with DH (DD needs lying with until she falls asleep 🙄 and she’s in our bed too so still don’t see DH then!).

Work days i sometimes don’t get back til 9.

1 day a week I’m out until 9:30/10 at a hobby.

So my 9pm bedtime dreams are unattainable 😭

I sometimes get in bed as early as 8pm but that would be to read or watch something on the iPad.

If I'm at home I will always try to be in bed around 10, lights off by 10.30 as I find I fall into a deeper sleep than if I stay up past 11pm.

I'm usually awake between 6.30-7.30 depending on the time of year and if I have to set an alarm.

I'm 30s with a 4year old for context.

8:00-8:30. I'm up at 3:30 for work though.

9pm as I’m up at 5 for work to do a 10 hr shift

FedupMumof10YearOld · 24/02/2025 07:25

Anytime from 8pm and in winter 7pm

GreenMarigold · 24/02/2025 07:27

I come up to bed with dh around 10:30. I’m typically wide awake so usually read until about midnight.

We both have to get up around 6:45, with few interruptions in the night.

On days where I don’t have to be up I might sleep until 7:30 and he could sleep until 9. We just have quite different sleep needs!

HundredPercentUnsure · 24/02/2025 07:28

I sit and scroll MN until about 10pm/10:30pm, then head up for a shower and read in bed for a bit. Asleep by 11/11:15pm. I get up at 630am usually when my youngest wakes for the day.

My DH falls asleep on the sofa by 915pm guaranteed! And he'll sit there nodding between awake/asleep for the evening. For some reason he doesn't read his body and go to bed when he's tired and I leave him to it on the sofa, he's not always aware when I go to bed. I'm never aware when he gets into bed but he sometimes says it's 12:30am/1am or later. He gets up 6am some days, 815am other days, never consistent.

9.30 -10 we all do, some times 10.30 like weekends

RIPVPROG · 24/02/2025 08:22

My watch tells me to go to bed at 10 but I'm usually already upstairs brushing teeth etc by then, try to be also before 11. I get up between 7 and 7:30 during the week unless I have to travel for work. DS has to be at school between 8:30 and 8:50 (soft start) we're usually there around 8:30. I wake him at 7:30 if he's not awake by then, he goes to bed at 7. DH similar bed time to me but goes to sleep straight away, usually gets up at 7:30 , this morning he went to the gym before work so up at 6. DS and I are off as it's inset day and I don't work Mondays.

lingalingalong · 24/02/2025 09:49

We start getting ready for bed 8:30pm-ish; in bed by 9. Alarm goes off at 6am on weekdays.

No alarms on weekends, typically same bedtime but wake up whenever!

I’m intrigued by this routine. The kids get up for a story? Do you home school or maybe not in uk?

I go between 10 and 11. Read in bed a bit, straight to sleep. I have no trouble dropping off…

My kids are adults.

marmafoi · 24/02/2025 14:00

I have problems with sleep and only average around four hours a night at the moment. I don't think I've been to bed before midnight since my childhood and have always been a night owl. I'm usually up around 6am most days.

biscuitsandbooks · 24/02/2025 14:04

I go up to bed at 9 but don't sleep until closer to midnight. I just like to lie down and relax for a couple of hours.

I'm autistic and really struggle with sensory overwhelm so being in a dark, peaceful bedroom is really relaxing.

LoudPlumDog · 24/02/2025 14:06

I go to bed as early as 6:30pm due to exhaustion but I don’t go to sleep until 9:30pm. I read, do online jigsaw, sometimes watch a movie.

okydokethen · 24/02/2025 15:09

Asleep by 11, not earlier than 10.
Get up 6.30 - often tired.

cinnamongirl123 · 24/02/2025 20:50

AIM to head to bed by 10pm, wind down and lights out by 11pm; but usually in reality it's all an hour or two later.
Left to my own devices with no work the next day, around 2/3am.
