I'm nosy. What do you take with you wherever you go?

I stumbled across a Reddit thread on the topic which I read with interest but it was old and mostly American.

Mine:

Phone
Card holder with bank card and driving license
Portable charger
Keys
Sunglasses
Cotton tote bag
Hand sanitiser
Tissues
Perfume
Lipstick
Headphones
Mirror
Mints
Notebook
Pen

Phone, keys, small wallet. Cotton handkerchief and vaseline tin in pocket. Hand cream and water bottle if it's a day out.

festivemouse · 18/02/2025 18:16

I take so many things in my bag, I even organise them into smaller bags within my main bag 😂

Small pouch with tampon, pad, plasters, blister plasters, thread + needle, tissues, hair bobble, hair pins, mints, disposable toothbrushes and anything "essential"

Mini pill organiser with paracetamol, ibuprofen, Imodium, rennies and a few other tablets in.

Cute fabric pouch with a mirror, hairbrush, lipstick, fancy lip-balm, powder, blotting sheets, perfume etc in.

General bits, sunglasses, purse, keys, notebook and pen, phone.

I'm known by my friends for being mega prepared ha!

I was thinking the other day I don’t ever use a handbag anymore, I just put my phone and keys in my pocket, and I wondered if others were the same and if handbag sales have gone down. I only take a bag if I’m with the children and then it has drinks bottles, spare clothes, wet wipes and snacks in it!

Darklane · 18/02/2025 18:24

Every day no matter what I'm doing/where I'm going:

Phone with bank cards

Perfume
Hairbrush

For work if I'm walking/on the bus, add:
ID
Pen
Laptop and charger
Gum/mints
Phone charger

If cycling, add to that 😁:
Lights
Gloves
Snood
Bike/lockup keys
Puncture repair kit
Pump
Change of clothes

Never managed to get on with bags. Now I can just take phone and my keys I just don’t see the need. I do have a magnetic card wallet that attaches on to the back of my phone - it comes with me sometime but now always.

RIPVPROG · 18/02/2025 18:36

Phone
Purse/cardholder
Keys
Hand cream mini
Lip balm
Tissues
Tampon
Pen
If I'm walking or getting pubic transport earbuds
Gloves/sunglasses, a mini suncream seasonally

Having said that I only take a handbag if I'm going out for the day, if I'm staying local or just popping out somewhere for an hour or two I just take my phone and keys

JBJ · 18/02/2025 18:53

Phone
Purse
Painkillers
Gaviscon
Antihistamines (I'm very cat allergic and all my friends seem to have them, therefore I'm allergic to them too)
Inhaler
Lip balm
Ear buds
Several pens
Handcream
Hand sanitiser
Perfume
A couple of hair bands and a scrunchie
Tissues
Tea bags (can't stand weak tea!)
Charging cable
Poo bags
Dog treats
Baby wipes

Plus a few random salt/pepper sachets that I've collected from somewhere and one of tartare sauce!

DownWithTrump · 18/02/2025 18:56

I make a point of never having my driving licence in the same bag as my keys. If you lose your bag your licence has your address on.... too much risk!

JBJ · 18/02/2025 18:57

Forgot glasses! There's usually reading glasses in there (unless I really need them, when they're in the coffee table at home!), driving glasses live in the car, unless I'm going somewhere I might need them, and sunglasses on the odd day I need them.

Also keys and vape. I was just going on what's in there at the minute, but I add stuff when I go out. It's a surprisingly small bag for all that lot 🤣
