I'm so sorry. When MN contacted me I thought what's wrong with it then I realised I had missed degree of the end and it sounded like DS had passed away . I'm so sorry .

Massive congratulations to your son. Love to hear about young people doing well for themselves. Will you celebrate as a family this weekend?

Yes we can do. But maybe not this weekend. Need to work round DS shifts.

Of course - busy boy keeping the rest of us safe!

Congrats to him! It's true that the police have earned a fairly poor reputation in certain respects in the past, but the solution to that is hiring kind-hearted people like your son for the new generation. And well done to you for raising him to be kind.

LightDrizzle · 13/02/2025 13:28

Congratulations to him! I’ve had good and bad experiences with the police but mostly good and the was exceptionally good. We need brilliant police officers, I wish him every success and happiness!

ViciousCurrentBun · 13/02/2025 14:46

Many congratulations to your DS :)

Snowmanscarf · 13/02/2025 14:47

Congratulations Master Youagain.

imisswaitrose · 13/02/2025 15:01

Massive congratulations to your son. Doing all the uni work alongside demanding shifts on response is not easy!

Westfacing · 13/02/2025 15:09

Congratulations to your son!

Only some police officers are not liked - I think most of us are very grateful that we have a civilian police force and that the vast majority of the force are doing a great job.

OccasionalHope · 13/02/2025 15:09

Well done, I hope he has a long and successful career.

Waterboatlass · 13/02/2025 15:10

Congratulations!! Good man 🎉

mathanxiety · 13/02/2025 15:45

Well done to your DS! I hope he'll have a long and happy career. It can be a stressful job, but I hope the forces take better care of that element now than they used to.

cramptramp · 13/02/2025 15:56

Sadly work needs to be done on that side of things. But ds is really happy now .

Thisismyalterego · 13/02/2025 16:57

Well done to your ds. It is very hard work, studying whilst working a full-time job in the police.
My own DC submitted their dissertation a couple of weeks ago and now we have the waiting to see if they have passed. We are extremely proud of him as not only has he had to study around his shifts, but he has a young family as well and has been meticulous in ensuring he does his fair share of the childcare and household tasks.
It is a shame that people who grumble about the police don't see the dedication and determination they show.

Twixtmasjigsaw · 13/02/2025 17:02

We need kind hearted people in the police! Best of luck to your son, Op. I hope he has a long and fulfilling career.

Oh wow that's fantastic. Ds lives on his own. So he does not have the same worry as your son. Well donechom for all the juggling and still being hands on . Ds gets very stressed and anxious around exams and tests he always has. But he's all done now. And yes alot of judgement towards police are based on half a story . Although of course there has been corruption as well which there should not be . But the good people need tk be recognised.
