Or indeed at any other time?

Today I’ve batch cooked 3 different soups this will give us soups for office days. Prepped overnight oats for the week and boiled eggs for snacks.

ironing is done ready for work. I also like to prep meals the day before so when I get back from work / finish WFH it’s just finishing off.

have also packed my work & gym bags and made a to do list so less stressful start to tomorrow.

frozendaisy · 09/02/2025 18:31

Are you asking as just an adult or a family OP?

6namechange3 · 09/02/2025 18:32

Fuck all, Sunday is my day I would rather rush around on Monday morning than give any more of my time and energy to getting prepared for work !

Apigcalledsue · 09/02/2025 18:33

I have to get up at 5 so food prepared. Bag packed. Clothes on landing. Up at 5. Dog walk. Shower. Breakfast. In car by 7

Curlymam88 · 09/02/2025 18:33

I set the kids clothes out for the week on their wardrobes with knickers and vests around the hangers aswell. Do a couple days of sandwiches and fruit pots for school. Saves alot of time for us.

ManchesterLu · 09/02/2025 18:33

I like to do a really good clean so I can just keep on top of it for the rest of the week. Make sure all washing is done and put away, and do the food shop with a plan for what we'll eat for the rest of the week. Might do a bit of meal prep for certain dishes, and freeze portions for busy days. Always have a look at my diary to see what's going on for the week, and make a note of when I can swim/gym, when I'll do various other tasks etc. Basically if I can have a plan for the week on a Sunday, the rest of the week goes much smoother!

Just generally. I feel like I could be more organised in life. I’m a sahm for now and have more time but this won’t be the case forever. I need to get back to being more orgnaised so I can start thinking about what’s next.

I am lucky because both DH and I are retired. But we have two teenage DCs in year 10 and year 8.

I hang up 5 days worth of uniform each with their vests and knickers and socks. I empty their school bags of empty crisp packets and fill up their water bottles. I check their online lunch accounts.

DH goes to the gym 3 times a week and I twice so I make sure our gym bags are ready. I review our weekly diary and highlight things that need to be done (medication reviews mostly).

I always write a meal plan on Sundays.

Monday mornings I pay bills and organise any money or account transfers.

It's taken me years to sort out a routine that works for us. This tends to work.

Mum2jenny · 09/02/2025 18:39

Absolutely nothing.

Pleaseletmegohome · 09/02/2025 18:40

Gym kit is laid out for my 6am class. I’ll come home after and my clothes for tomorrow are on a hanger with underwear. Bag packed for work as I’m in the office tomorrow.

Tomorrow’s lunch is made and in the fridge. Tomorrow’s dinner is also prepped.

Kettle is filled and I’m off to bed around 8pm. Bliss!

ProfessorLeveretGrey · 09/02/2025 18:41

In terms of 'other time' organisation- Tuesdays i always wash towels and beclothes for DS1. Wednesdays towels and bedclothes for DS2. Thursdays (the day our cleaner comes) towels and bedclothes for DH and I. I was brought up in a chaotic household where the basics were not covered at all so having clean bedclothes weekly for me is a non-negotiable.

Again- I am retired so that makes life easier.

Theunamedcat · 09/02/2025 18:42

Ironing bags packed clean fridge ready for food shop boys (very long) hair washed school stuff planned stuff planned for my dad too

Decafflatteplease · 09/02/2025 18:43

We have dedicated uniform and work clothes laundry hampers and wardrobes so we blast through washing drying and putting away all work clothes and uniform over the weekend.

I chop fruit and veg for a few meals/snacks so it's easy to get out the fridge

We have an "out tray" of anything needed for the week eg reply slips for school, money for clubs etc.

All school shoes coats and bags are all kept on a station in the hall.

GroovyChick87 · 09/02/2025 18:43

Do a top up shop for packed lunch stuff. Get the kids' uniforms ready. Wash and blow dry the kids' hair. Write in their reading diaries.

PhilosophicalCheeseSandwich · 09/02/2025 18:44

Nothing. I won't face Monday until it's Monday, I can't let that bastard creep up on me on Sunday.

hopeishere · 09/02/2025 18:48

Do your children have additional needs @ProfessorLeveretGrey? Can they not get their own stuff ready?

I just make sure the kitchen is really clean and review the week shared calendar.

Witchywoo41 · 09/02/2025 18:49

House cleaned, all laundry done, ironed and put away, lunch’s packed for tomorrow and food prep done for teas and lunches. Everything needed for the week is just ready to grab and go.

thrifty24 · 09/02/2025 18:49

I will usually:

Make sandwich filler x 2 (egg or tuna Mayo plus chicken salad / coronation) to be stuff into pitta / wrap / toasties on each day of the week

Make a note of 3 dinners, other 2 days are for winging if eating out for example

Boiled eggs for snacks or chips up some celery and carrot to have with dips

Note down exercises classes booked for the week and other to do items such as if needing to pick up cards or gifts or generally admin things due within the week or two

Have made a Dahl inspired by another poster who said it's handy to keep in the fridge for a quick snack / add to meals. Going to try it out later with some rotis and dip!

Clothes wise I WFH mostly so it's gym gear for me. I like to have my leggings, vests and Sweaty Betty bras all clean and fresh for the week ahead.

StMarie4me · 09/02/2025 18:51

Over the weekend-
Catch up on housework and washing
Try to get one major sorting type job done.
Good skin cleanse and moisturise
Briefcase packed for the week
Fuel in car/ tyres checked for the week.

Hoglet70 · 09/02/2025 18:52

Absolutely nothing and I didn't when the kids were smaller either. I'm a rush around in the morning kind of person.

TheChosenTwo · 09/02/2025 18:53

Nothing!
Monday is coming whether I like it or not (I don’t mind Mondays as it goes!), I’ll be damned if I’m losing any of my Sunday to tomorrows problems 😂
Oh, I do book my food shop on a Sunday to be delivered on a Monday so I suppose there’s that. But we don’t meal plan so I just get general ‘stuff’ and dh does the butchers run and we decide on the day what we want to eat based around what we fancy and who’s home.

SoftPlaySaturdays · 09/02/2025 18:53

School uniform all washed and dried on a Saturday.

Nursery bag repacked with clothes and wipes and put by the door.

Make sure my work keys and swipe card are in my bag (long history of forgetting these...) and my bag is by the door.

If I'm really on top of things, bins and recycling are taken out and school shoes are polished.

We get our online shopping on a Thursday night, usually, so we have all our food for the week sorted. But if I'm making myself a lunch I'll do it in the morning.

Edit: missed out a word.
