WHERE IS MY GNOCCHI?

I'm tired and grumpy so popped in shop on way home from work and picked up a pack of gnocchi. My plan was to slaver it with cheese and butter and eat until my pjs burst.

So I've got home, faffed around for no more than 10 mins. Gone to make the pinnacle of lazy comfort food and WHERE IS IT?

It's not in my bag, not on the kitchen side, not in the fridge. It's definitely in the flat.

Check the dog.

I'd cry. That sounds like it would be amazing.

I once did my weekly food shop whilst tired and grumpy, got home and realised I’d left the entire thing in bags at the checkout.

No dog, 2 cats. Wouldn't put it past them.... but where's the plastic bag evidence? 🤣

Did you put it down to open the front door? Could it be on your doorstep?

Where you dump your keys?

Under your coat, dropped on your door step, in your bathroom. Behind your kettle. Microwave/ airfryer?

It fell out your bag in the car/boot? I mislaid a brand new toothbrush like this not long ago and it had rolled out the bag in the boot...

I picked up a bottle of fermented grape juice at the same time. I have that so must have bought it home....

Oh gnocchi where art thou? 😥

Did you buy anything else at the shop?

Was it in a bag? On its own or with other shopping? Did you pack it?

Boot of the car? I left sausages in once for a week bloody expensive gluten free ones they still looked good enough to eat despite being out of date for almost a week and sitting in the boot for a week put me off the brand to be honest

I have on more than one occasion bought more than one item at the shop and they haven’t all made it home with me. I can only presume they didn’t make it to the bag.

we have some gnocchi in the fridge but that probably doesn’t help really

In the freezer?

Recreate your journey. E.g. get in the car, check the passenger seat. Open boot and check. Go to front door. Check doorstep etc. Try to remember what you did when you got inside and recreate the journey. When you were putting other stuff away did you put gnocchi in cupboard/fridge accidently. Is it tucked on the shoe/coat rack or behind your bag.

Try to remember what colour bag it was in when you left the super market. Was it with the wine or another bag etc. try to jog your memory.

Ah. Check every pocket of the rucksack. Lost count of the number of times DH couldn't find something in his and it was tucked in the laptop pocket or done other hidden place.

What did you do with the rucksack when you came in?

Are you sure it went in the rucksack in the first place?

On top of the radiator in the downstairs loo.

It's where I usually find my car keys having dumped them there when I've had my just got home wee.

Alternatively, in the fruit bowl or wherever you put post?

Or, on the doorstep if you had to get your keys out of your bag so unloaded the gnocchi first?

Do you have the shop receipt? If it's on there then either you left it behind or it fell out of your rucksack.

100% you have left it at the checkout. Been there, done that.

Gone through bag. No gnocchi but half a packet of fruit pastels which is something. And an expenses receipt I've been trying to find for weeks.
Logic is telling me to leave it, but head is not resting until its found.

Desperate coming home wee is a good shout.... off to check bathroom
