WHERE IS MY GNOCCHI?

I'm tired and grumpy so popped in shop on way home from work and picked up a pack of gnocchi. My plan was to slaver it with cheese and butter and eat until my pjs burst.

So I've got home, faffed around for no more than 10 mins. Gone to make the pinnacle of lazy comfort food and WHERE IS IT?

It's not in my bag, not on the kitchen side, not in the fridge. It's definitely in the flat.

Did you leave it in the car?

Coat pocket ?

Freezer?

In the fridge but the pack is on its side so not what you’re expecting to see/ has slid down the back behind something?

Oh God, I am sorry! This is one of 'those' situations that drive you bonkers!! I just hope you solve the mystery or it will bother you forever! I've mislaid 2 Very Important Things in the last 2 weeks and they're refusing to turn up, it's driving me insane! I know as soon as I replace them, at vast expense, the originals will reappear, because that's the way the world works. For that reason you should quickly eat something less nice for dinner, and your gnocchi will turn up straight away.

Could it have fallen out of your bag?

In the bin? I once lost a whole pork loin I had been defrosting for dinner and for some reason someone had binned it. I can't be sure it wasn't accidentally me either.

I don't know but I hope it's having fun in its menage a trois with my car keys and debit card.

Was it a self service checkout? I can’t count how many times I’ve left an item still in the basket without it going through the scanner.

I once bought a box of chocolates for my mum, Got home and put them on my coffee table. I then went for a shower, Got out of the shower and they were gone.

I don't eat chocolate and live alone. Never did find them.

A chocolate-loving ghost for sure. They don't normally eat food but they will make an exception for chocolate.

Have you looked where you keep the wine? What else did you do when you got home? Glass/cup cupboard if you grabbed a drink. Do you have kids who demanded your attention (I often find stuff DH has put down in kids rooms as he doesn't seem to put it down before going to them).

Gnocchi is in the veg drawer

A woman just updated her thread about losing her car keys, to say she’d found them behind the sofa cushions she’d moved at least once already.

I really hope that the gnocchi are a- not behind a sofa cushion and b- found quicker than the car keys.

Three weeks. Three weeks for the car keys to turn up.

I’ve lost a whole box of mushrooms so maybe the gnocchi is with them

I was pretty flustered in the shop but if they made it out with me they could languishing in a car foot well

It’s cold & wet so since they aren’t chocolate 100% essential they can camp out overnight & I’ll check tomorrow

I bought some fish and chips once and put them on the car roof while I opened the door and put my bag on the passenger seat.
Then I drove off...

This also shamefully reminds me of the time I cried when I unpacked my online delivery and messaged Tesco to say that my stir fry sauce had not been delivered. Reader - no stir fry sauce had been ordered. In my defence I was six days postpartum and mad as a brush.

Once I lost a sock inside a boot. Yes, that's right. I took my boots off and I only had one sock when I definitely had two when I put my boots on (100% sure). Never found it and to this day I cannot explain what happened to it. I hope your gnocchi won't end up where my sock is.

I bought a 2025 diary at the beginning of November, a really nice one with its own pen and everything. Got it early as I had a lot of hobby event dates in the pipeline (more than one hobby so frequent clashes), wrote them all in, put it in my bag and then come the 1st January...... it had disappeared into thin air. Gone.

Update - have just found under towel on bed. No I have no idea either. Either madness or cats.
