I bought this corner sofa and regret it now. But im still paying it of.

It's the trek range in DFS they do sell parts like I could have turned it in to 2 separate sofas. But it seems they don't sell the leather one anymore.

The sofa as it is now touches the living room door frame then gos round to where my garden door is and there about a foot gap between the end of the sofa and the doors . I was debating taking one of the seats away to make it smaller

Never heard of that? What is it

It's a playmat that's made to look like a rug and fit in with decor, there are lots of different designs. They are expensive but cheaper versions exist too.

I have been thinking about this post whilst working out the reconfiguration of rooms in my own house.

What I've found really useful is to do a sketch and work out if there are any ways to have existing furniture moved/changed round to see if I prefer it.

I'm not sure how big the wall space is between your patio doors and the other end of the room where you said the TV unit is but is there an option to bring the TV to that area leaving the big unit at the end and creating a kids space? Use the shelving you already have for books, toys, video game storage etc? Then you could add a couple of wipe clean beanbags in black for the kids to chill on and hopefully bring both ends of the room together?

We did something like that in a previous house which had an L shaped lounge. The short bit zone was a big corner sofa, electric fireplace and TV, behind that area was kids toy storage and bean bags/books and the far end of the L had a (small) dining table and chairs so the room didn't feel as vast as it had previously.

The other end of the room is a big unit see pic. Then I have the TV in the middle on the wall. All the tv aerial sockets and the WiFi is there to.

It's not a big space that I could do a children's area . Plus the kids have their stuff in their rooms. May bring them down sometime but then they take them back to their rooms . Have a handful of toys for baby GS that are kept in the cupboard

For got pic it below

I’m saying this with a little hesitation as l’m not confident l have this right. But last year l did part with a very comfy arm chair which completely overpowered the room. In future l’m going to use boxes the size of any potential new furniture to get the feel of the space before l buy.

I was wondering, would it be possible to remove the corner piece and replace it with a smaller plain square coffee table? Then l don’t think it would look wrong without the arms.

I wouldn't want to add a replacement as it still taking up /over powering the room . If i can get one of my older kids to help me I'm going to have a mess about with other om the half term .

I did think if I c add another console bit that could work as an arm/sofa end. People were saying it's to square/boxy though. I would need to check the price to.
