Just looked at a thread about two thirds of the people in England being overweight and got me thinking how much others generally eat/exercise and if that does make a difference to their weight.

Today, I've had porridge on it's own (made with 40g) oats. Two biscuits. Two egg omelette with 1.5oz cheese and six cherry tomatoes. Will probably have apple and nuts when I get hungry around 4pm (usually happens) and later we're having homemade sweet and sour with quorn and veggies (I'll have beanshoots under mine instead of noodles as I'm prediabetic and have to limit unrefined carbs and shouldn't be eating too much sweet stuff - yes, I know I've had two biscuits, but everything else is good).

SeekingYourAdvice · 30/01/2025 17:58

Blueberries, Greek yoghurt, flaked almonds, honey and a cappuccino.

A banana.

A salad - mixed leaves, grated Carrott, sweetcorn, cucumber, tomato, beetroot, 2 hard boiled eggs, grated cheese.

A few raw cashew nuts and a small dark chocolate bar.

Dinner will be salmon stir fry with noodles, veg and a bit of soy sauce and sweet chilli sauce.

This is a typical day for me - everything home made, small portions and very few carbs.

Your food choices are scarily similar to mine 😋

bakewellbride · 30/01/2025 18:16

I've had:

Raspberry, Apple, banana and peanut butter porridge with seeds and oat milk
A vegetable protein shake with spinach and banana

Leftover vegan lasagne for lunch

A quick snack of toast grapes and malt loaf then started my 16 hour fast which I do twice a week. But if I wasn't fasting I'd have a healthy dinner. I eat lots of lentils, avocado, tofu, all plant based.

I am teetotal and really restrict my unhealthy food intake.

BMI 18.7.

Breakfast - cinnamon raisin bagel with butter, glass of kefir and a coffee
Lunch - tteotboki in spicy sauce (Korean steamed rice cakes) and a plate of raw veg and nuts
Afternoon - coffee and some haribo
Dinner - tofu and veg wrap, with couscous salad from DD’s food tech class, probably bread and butter pudding after

I also have cancer so trying to eat really nutrient rich foods, but I also have 6 hours a day when I can’t have anything but water because of my meds, so food is very scheduled.

@mindutopia Your food today all sounds delicious but I need to know what tteoboki is - sounds scrummy 😋

Coffeeandcake32 · 30/01/2025 18:47

Breakfast was oats protein powder oat milk topped with strawberries pumpkin seeds and chia seeds
Lunch was a chicken bone broth soup with rice and vegetables
I got hungry before my workout so avocado on 2 slices of sourdough
Tonight DH is cooking a chicken chow mein and I'll probably have a hot chocolate after.
Drinks wise Ive had 3 coffees nearly 2 litres of water and a Pepsi max so far.

VodkaCola · 30/01/2025 18:48

I have a big appetite and am often hungry.

Today was...

2 slices homemade wholemeal bread toast with marmalade
Coffee with hazelnut milk

2 more slices bread with margarine
2 hard boiled eggs
Spinach leaves, red pepper
Blueberries

Roasted chickpeas with paprika and chilli flakes
Potato wedges
Roasted aubergine
More spinach leaves

Plus cups of tea with almond milk.

I've been for a nice long walk today and done an online yoga class. I'm menopausal and overweight unfortunately!

LeaveALittleNote · 30/01/2025 18:49

Cappuccino and a cookie.
1/2 pizza, an avocado, a tomato, olives.
Loads of cups of tea.
Soudough, smoked mackerel, boiled egg.
About to have cheese, nibbles and wine.

Not a normal food day for me for me at all. I usually eat more vegetables and more freshly prepared foods.

TuesdayRubies · 30/01/2025 18:56

Peanut butter on toast with banana. Tomatoes and anchovies on toast, two slices. A pear. A small chocolate bar. Several coffees with oat milk. A fillet and a half of salmon, broccoli, green beans, some rice. Later will end up having some fruit or dark chocolate before bed. Or even some oatibix or something as we eat dinner early. Some nights it's a glass of red wine instead.

I'm a healthy weight, BMI about 20. That's a pretty typical day for me but the sugar intake is worse if I'm stressed. Probably quite a bread heavy day.

Ribenaberry12 · 30/01/2025 18:59

Two slices of wholemeal toast with butter and marmite with coffee.

Tuna salad with cheese and chilli sourdough. Banana and a cup of tea.

Bit of water from my water bottle throughout the day but not enough today, bit dehydrated.

Pytilla · 30/01/2025 19:00

DSis lives with us and made us all a Spanish omelette for breakfast.

Got a turkey sandwich from the Subway on the High St for lunch.

DH making pizza for dinner in the outdoor pizza oven. Definitely making good use of the gazebo we had put in a few years ago.

Oh, and I've been munching on Maltesers...

mumsiemoo2 · 30/01/2025 19:08

I'm currently dairy-free due to breastfeeding a bubba with allergies!

I've had:
Toddler sized bowl of free from cheerios with oat milk.

Free from crackers with chilli hummus, turkey, cucumber, tomatoes and onion. Also a few tortilla chips.

A biscuit.

Baked potato with leftover chilli con carne.

Loads of tea and decaf coffee!

Currently sat here contemplating what to buy during the weekly shop tomorrow.

SlaveToAGoldenRetriever · 30/01/2025 19:11

A single Greggs vegan sausage roll 😬

Making a lovely risotto though to make up for it! Haddock, leek, parmesan and pea - it’s one of my absolute favourite dinners

2025mustbebetter · 30/01/2025 19:19

In a very non Mumsnet way I eat a LOT. Currently losing weight.

I've had
overnight oats with banana
Penguin bar
Snack sized dairy milk
Pasta and chicken salad
Grapes
Hot chocolate
Another banana
Thai chicken curry and some cottage cheese.

I have a history of binge eating so this is good for me! Also I've lost just over 1stone.

Motharunner · 30/01/2025 19:20

I've been to the gym today, so I'm starving!

But breakfast: coffee and a banana
Lunch: BLT sandwich and an apple
Dinner: chilli and rice
1 x cake for pudding

DreamingOfASilentNight · 30/01/2025 19:21

Terribly un-nutritious day.
4 cups of coffee, some haribo tangfastics, grapes, 2 slices of toast, 2 herbal teas😳. The ADHD diet😬
Makes me realise I probably should try to eat some real food.

SkeletonBatsflyatnight · 30/01/2025 19:23

Lunch: 2 ryvita with smashed up Avocado and tomato on them with a slice of feta, red pepper and onion Quiche
Dinner: a side plate's worth of Chinese takeaway (a little bit of rice, salt and chilli prawns and a 2 pieces of honey chilli chicken)

Rarely eat breakfast.
