As you age, what change in your appearance do you most miss or regret how it's changed.

I'm 66 and generally happy with how my body is ageing.
I'm fit, active and healthy, size 10 clothes wise and mentally very alert.
Was looking through some photos from my 20's & 30's & was struck by my lovely eyebrows in every close up photo, sadly now a distant memory.

In my 60's I'm just left with very sparse looking brows, almost invisible, which I pencil in, but they really change the whole look of my face.
So what do you miss in your appearance as you are ageing?

Agree with the brows, I had mine micro bladed a few years ago and the difference they've made to my face is immense. Best money I've ever spent and wish I'd had them done years ago.

I hate the thin lines starting to appear on my lips.

But hey ho, at least I'm alive.

Christwosheds · 27/01/2025 14:59

Fuller hair, tiny waist. I also have bigger boobs now which I don’t like, not helped by needing to lose a stone.

Solaire18381 · 27/01/2025 15:00

I'm in my 40's and although like you I'm a size 10, generally not looking as toned as I used to be! By mid-40's things seem to be heading south a bit. I miss when I was in my 20's and 30's was still a size 10 then but obviously more toned.

Theresacatinmykitchenwhatamigonnado · 27/01/2025 15:03

My actual lips (mouth ones). They were always on the thin side but I'm 50 now and unless I remember to arrange them properly, I've got nothing there.

Dutchhouse14 · 27/01/2025 15:05

My whole face has drooped and sagged like a basset hound.
Boobs have also drooped but OK with a good bra.
I really miss my toned slim midriff and the ability to lose weight relatively easily.
My hair has also thinned.
And I also liked it when I didn't have to check for sprouting chin hairs every day!!

I wish I'd never cut my hair - I'm post menopause now and will never be able to grow it long again. I didn't cut it for 7 months during lockdowns but it doesn't grow much at all now 😪

@Theresacatinmykitchenwhatamigonnado

Thanks for specifying which ones 🤣 maybe I should have in my post haha

LifeInAHamsterWheel · 27/01/2025 15:08

Very early 50s and I've really noticed my lower face sagging. Jowls and that weird crinkly bit of skin just above my throat. I've managed to avoid deep lines and wrinkles and have stayed relatively slim, but the lower face is just letting me down - literally!!

Marisislikethesunwithoutthewarmth · 27/01/2025 15:10

My hair was fine but I had lots of it. Now I don’t have as much i look odd. Shame that I now have lots growing rather thick on my neck and chin now… and in a recent development- near my mouth 🙈 - the places you wouldn’t want it!!

ForPearlViper · 27/01/2025 15:10

A friend showed me a photo of me from c35 years ago recently and my immediate thought was how much I missed my luxuriant eyebrows. However, at the time I disliked them as generous brows were not in fashion and they needed a lot of effort to avoid a monobrow situation.

I don't miss the frizzy hair - we have much better products now!

TheFormidableMrsC · 27/01/2025 15:10

I hate that my once huge eyes look like they're disappearing a bit, becoming a bit more hooded as I age. I also hate my lip lines. I take great care with my skin and it's generally good but you can't hold everything back I don't think. On a positive note, I'm much stronger physically now than I was in my 20's, largely due to lifting weights. I'm still told I'm attractive so I'll take that at 55!

MoonKiss · 27/01/2025 15:12

Under eye wrinkles is my biggest issue age 52, very crepey. The advent of high definition phone cameras is depressing, Tried all sorts and nothing works. Any tips welcome!!

fingerbobz · 27/01/2025 15:13

Under eye bags and overhanging eye lids have really aged me

LancreWowhawk · 27/01/2025 15:13

I'm in my late 40s now, and it's hands down my hair. It used to be great - fine, but loads and loads of it. Now it's still fine but there is very far from loads and loads of it. Plus, DD10 has inherited my hair, so I have the double whammy of seeing how gorgeous it is (and it really is) as a reminder, and the sadness of knowing that it's probably coming for her too, one day.

Oh yeah, upper eyelids have dropped too. Perhaps one day they’ll hang so low they’ll hide the under eye issues!

eqpi4t2hbsnktd · 27/01/2025 15:18

I miss being flat chested. I never had boobs until I had kids... and I hate them. Like fat udders... was very happy with my braless A cups of youth!

teentantrums · 27/01/2025 15:20

I am not ageing how I would like! Mostly the problem is hair - or lack of it. It is so ageing to have sparse hair.

VictoriaEra · 27/01/2025 15:21

Horrible marionette lines. Would love to know how to get rid of them. Would fancy a jaw lift if I was brave - or rich - enough.

Soonenough · 27/01/2025 15:25

I hate the weight that menopause brought and my inability to lose as easily . Also my flexibility. Eyes are no longer large and green as years of glasses have made them a bit squinty . Hair not as luxurious either . Help I am a disaster.

Goatblu · 27/01/2025 15:27

Definitely my hair. I had lovely thick wavy hair. Now its just thin and limp. I hate being able to see my scalp so easily through it.

Menopause weight gain hit me hard too but I'm dealing with that. Shame there's nothing I can do about my hair.

spacepies · 27/01/2025 15:28

This thread as made me laugh.

eurochick · 27/01/2025 15:34

Definitely my former waistline!

Even for most of my 40s I had a nice toned waist. At about 48 it just vanished! None of my nice tailored clothes fit anymore and I just feel so lumpen.

Fibrous · 27/01/2025 15:38

My eyesight. Needed readers since I turned forty and I hate wearing glasses! It makes me look like my mum. Even the expression I make as I move them down my nose to look at someone reminds me of my mum. No disrespect to her I just don’t want to be reminded I’m getting old.

FoolishHips · 27/01/2025 15:38

My face looks pretty good and people think I'm younger but my neck is really starting to give my age away. I've had a crap few months though so that's not helping.

I miss how my bum looked from the side....I had a lovely curve in my back and a sticky-out bum. It doesn't look terrible and I don't think anyone has that shape at 52 but still, it looks a bit sad. I've also noticed in the last year that the skin in the creases of my arms looks haggard.

RampantIvy · 27/01/2025 15:38

I'm 66. Thinning hair and jowls, plus a bit of weight gain.

I am tackling the weight gain, but I will have to make the best of the first two Sad
