Do you regularly wear matching bra & knickers?

I have plain black thongs and black bras. Not part of sets but you can't really tell.

Just wondered what everyone else does.

Would wearing a nice matching set help make me feel sexy again ?

I have one matching set and it's about to be Vinted as it's too big.

My nanna, bless her, always told us that you should wear clean matching underwear everyday. Not to entice your man or to be sexy, but incase you get run over by a bus. It seems nanna thought emergency services might put more effort into your CPR should you be matching! 🤣 However, I always, every day, wear matching underwear - despite never being along a bus route!

My friend's Gran told me and my friend exactly this when we were about 15!
We're in our 30s now and we both still wear matching/at least similar bra and knickers because of it! You know, just in case! 😂

Seeline · 27/01/2025 10:43

At 38K, my bras cost a fortune, and I have a very limited choice. The chance of finding matching knickers in the 'right' style, and being able to justify the cost means no, I don't have matching sets.

Ew people buy used underwear? Ugh

PiastriThePastry · 27/01/2025 10:44

I used to, I think there used to be better choice for knickers when I was smaller of boob! Now, because my boobs have reached the point of nearly having their own gravitational field, shops seems to assume you want absolutely massive Bridget Jones knickers when all I wear really are thongs. Also bras are few and far between in my size (smallish back) so when I find one, I don’t worry much at all about matching knickers anymore!

graceinspace999 · 27/01/2025 10:49

I’m wondering why you want random women describing their underwear?

Karatema · 27/01/2025 10:52

I wore black bra and knickers (not a set) on Saturday, and when I was getting undressed my DH commented, positively, because it's so unusual! 😂

AnnPerkins · 27/01/2025 10:59

Two years ago I found the holy grail: a multipack of colourful bras and a multipack of knickers in contrasting colours. So I could mix and match depending on what I was wearing. Now again all I can find is multipacks in black, white and nude. If I want any other colours I have to buy single sets. This seems like a huge gap in the market, surely I'm not the only woman who wants to wear more colourful matching everyday underwear?

Sure do, and swimming costumes too. Not sure why that's so weird for you.

Floralnomad · 27/01/2025 12:55

Never , occasionally they may be the same colour but not an actual matching set .

WessexPrincess · 27/01/2025 12:58

I always do if I'm leaving the house, but have multipack Brazilian knickers and soft non wired bras for under lounge wear

😂😂 My Nan gave me the same advice! Even the other day when I did the school run bra less, I actually thought of my Nans wise words lol.

OP, I was such a ‘matching set’ type of gal, until I had my first kid. When I felt the comfort of those big Bridget jones knickers, after years of wearing thongs and gstrings, I never looked back! So now I wear my comfy knickers and whatever bra is clean!

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 27/01/2025 13:12

No. I used to but since having children I can't cope with uncomfortable knickers.

I wear cotton modal knickers from M&S and a non matching bra.

hopeishere · 27/01/2025 13:13

Nope. I only have black pants and then a black, white and a nude bra.

Bras in sets always seem to be lacy, fussy ones.

Jellycatspyjamas · 27/01/2025 13:14

Red is the only colour you can't see under white trousers/shirts (even nude can be seen on me)

What is this sorcery? I’ve given up on white tops because you can always see my bra underneath, even nude ones. Have u missed a trick?

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 27/01/2025 13:23

I used to when I lived at home but not any more - knickers are ridiculous prices! It's not as though anyone will see them apart from DH.

Normallynumb · 27/01/2025 13:36

Mine match in the sense that I have nude bras and multipacks of nude high leg knickers but that's it

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 27/01/2025 13:44

I used to always wear fancy matching lingerie, then in lockdown couldn’t cope with sitting wfh in proper bras all day long. I bought a load of black bralette/cropped top things from Thought, and a load of black pants from Chantelle, and have just replaced as required. I have two nude bralettes and two pairs of leopard print (nude/black) knickers that match those.

So matching-ish. I bet my DP thinks fondly of the pre Covid days.

Calebbloomfest · 27/01/2025 13:50

Me - don’t own any matching sets - I just match the bra to the colour top (e.g. if wearing white top with have a white / cream bra not a black bra underneath)

had a friend that was obsessed with matching sets. Cost her a fortune! She only wore complete sets - To the point that if her baby was badly sick on her and she had to change her top and bra - she would also change her knickers too so still all matching!

For me life is too short to worry about such things.

StarCourt · 27/01/2025 13:54

never. I now just go for comfort

MissyPants · 27/01/2025 13:59

Bridget jones knickers and what ever bra is clean. I'm still wearing my maternity bras two years on because they are so comfy.

okydokethen · 27/01/2025 14:00

Only wear black and lacy so they match unofficially

BatshitCrazyWoman · 27/01/2025 14:01

Yes, I do. I also wear pale pink or red underwear under white clothes, never ever that 'nude' colour.

butterdish93 · 27/01/2025 14:19

I don't even regularly wear underwear, let alone matching

WellsAndThistles · 27/01/2025 14:21

If you mean baggy old off white bra and baggy old off white pants then yes, yes I do 🤣
