Two plates of lentils and veg - still famished but whyhl

I don't know what's going on with me at the moment: I've had two full plates of lentils and vegetables cooked together in yoghurt and I'm still starving. I even added a third of a pack of feta to top the second plate in order to add protein but that still didn't help.

I've got an apple crumble (serves two) in the freezer and I'm thinking of putting it in the oven and polishing the whole thing off with double cream. I'm not ill and I ate normally today. Just not sure what's going on, why would I suddenly feel ravenously hungry? Shall I crumble and have the crumble or stick it out? 🤔

Ooh that type in the title is going to irritate me!

Edit: so I realise now my first post isn't that clear, I'm feeling kind of abnormally hungry.

Order a kebab

comedycentral · 25/01/2025 21:57

Are you dehydrated? Sometimes it can present as hunger. Drink a pint of water at least and see how you feel.

I'd have a pint of water! Thirst can often be misunderstood as a feeling of hunger.

murasaki · 25/01/2025 21:57

What (bar the feta) a joyless dinner. Eat the crumble.

JC03745 · 25/01/2025 21:58

@comedycentral cross post. Great minds. 😆

PollyCreo · 25/01/2025 21:58

It's the time of year, we're all craving carbs

MissEloiseBridgerton · 25/01/2025 21:58

That's basically just soup. I'd have bread and butter with it to fill me up.

Have the crumble! Or some toast

Foxgloverr · 25/01/2025 21:58

Lentils and vegetables cooked in yoghurt? Sounds very strange to me! Eat the crumble.

LittleRedRidingHoody · 25/01/2025 21:59

Crumble! All the way 😋

Onthewegovy · 25/01/2025 22:00

You can't very well have crumble in the freezer and not eat it

TossieFleacake · 25/01/2025 22:00

Crumble and ALL THE CREAM

amoreoamicizia · 25/01/2025 22:01

Thanks everyone, water was a great thought so I'm going for a belt and braces approach: water and crumble!

I couldn't eat this late, have a hot drink.
Sometimes I'm extra hungry depending on my cycle.

Wigtopia · 25/01/2025 22:04

I find I need something crunchy in a meal to feel full. If it’s all soft food it doesn’t quite hit the spot

Ohlawdnotagain · 25/01/2025 22:04

Is this going to become a competitive under-eating thread?

I'd personally eat the crumble with all the cream with a lovely hot cuppa. Followed by hot buttery toast if still hungry. Then remember never to just have lentils and veg cooked in yoghurt ever again.

amoreoamicizia · 25/01/2025 22:05

Yes, I think something was off about the meal. I normally have it with rice but I didn't today.

Have a banana. If you don't want a banana, you can't really be hungry!

murasaki · 25/01/2025 22:06

Well done, you've just tempted me back to my leftover pizza. Yum!

amoreoamicizia · 25/01/2025 22:07

Ooh, pizza! I could knock back a (smallish) pizza, that's how I'm feeling even after two dinners. Bizarre.

modernshmodern · 25/01/2025 22:07

It's not filling enough you need rice, bulgar, Pearl barley or similar with it

Whachamacallit · 25/01/2025 22:09

What stage of your cycle are you in? Every month I have one ravenous day when I eat all round me, and one day when I barely eat at all

Coldanddamp · 25/01/2025 22:12

Every month I have one ravenous day when I eat all round me, and one day when I barely eat at all

I have this but it's 2 days each. So 2 days of 5000 calories plus & 2 days of struggling to eat 1000. Always had it.

Coldanddamp · 25/01/2025 22:13

lentils & veg wouldn't satisfy me though.

biscuitsandbooks · 25/01/2025 22:14

Doesn't sound very filling really.

But also, are you due your period? I can eat like a horse beforehand 😂
