I'm just drinking my first cuppa, in my kitchen spot, while the kittens run riot in the living room 🙄.

It's dd1's 18th birthday today 🥳 so I've just rearranged her presents nicely & stuck some more banners. The pile's exceptionally small this year, but she will love it. My bank balance, less so 💸 <that's yesterdays pay flying away...reminder to self, think things through before committing--.

Once I finish my cuppa, I need to spring into action & tidy round the kitchen so that I can finish her birthday cake. It's not overly complicated so hopefully won't take too long.

Dd1 is off into town with her dad at some point this morning to look for a top to wear tonight, and probably her first drink in a pub!

Dd2's staying here to get a shower and sort her long hair before we go out to celebrate tonight.

We're off to what happens to be my favourite restaurant, with dd1's best friend, to celebrate. I'm looking forward to good food & cocktails but not the bill 🤣.

When we get in, it'll probably be cuppa and bed for me. Yesterday was one of those days & I still have the headache now 🙄.

I have no idea what I'm doing today lol Everyone else is still in bed. I've been up since around 7am and just finished a 2nd cup.of coffee. Think I'll go with the flow today as ds2 has a very early kick off tomorrow in his football match. So no lie in for us 😴

Been up since 7 pottering and then did a workout reluctantly but feel better now I've done it!
Have tidied and hovered the living room and kitchen now need to get dressed and rouse the eldest for dancing!
Youngest had party this afternoon and then family friends over for dinner so this afternoon will be food prep ans more cleaning!
Looking forward to some burns night inspired food!

Good morning @lucysmam & everyone. Happy 18th Birthday to your DD @lucysmam - hope she has a lovely celebration. I’m in bed but about to get up as I have quite a bit to do today. DH brought me a cuppa before he left for work. Need to go to Asda for pizzas & into town to get measured for my ringsize. There’s a stunning ring on FB marketplace that I would love to buy but because I’ve lost so much weight, I think it might be too big. Also popping into Poundland for frozen jacket spuds which I found were way nicer than McCain’s. DD16 wants to go to Farm Foods. We’re sorting ourselves out for tea. I’ll have an Iceland ready meal ( steak chianti ragu) which can be heated from frozen. Amused to see that predictive text came up with “ steak chianti argue 🤣🤣🤣)

Dh and I had a date last night! First time child free in what feels like a very long time! Dd11 is at a sleep over, and ds15 is self sufficient.

We went to see A Complete Unknown, which is one of the best films I’ve seen in ages! Highly recommend!!

The cinema has a licensed bar, so I’m a little hungover this morning. So I’m being quite lazy. Dh left for work at 6, ds15 is still asleep and dd11 is still at friends house.

I’m just chilling in bed with a brew and the dogs. We’ll go for a nice walk sometime after lunch

Good morning all, I was looking out for this thread as I find it very comforting, hearing about people’s mornings and weekend plans, just the thought of everyone going about their day makes me feel less alone.
I was awake quite early so am downstairs on my own and have put a wash on and had a coffee and breakfast.
not really got plans today but I will go and visit my mum, do a food shop and we need to go into the garden and tidy up the storm damage, the garden furniture and cover has all moved, my small greenhouse has fallen over and there are a few branches to tidy.

I'm out later for a bottomless brunch. I'm really looking forward to catching up with friends but I've not been drinking lately as it doesn't seem to agree with me anymore. I'll probably have 2 glasses of prosecco which I don't really like anyway! I can hear my bank account weeping.

I’m still in bed with my first cuppa, but will move in a minute as my Asda shop is coming, so I will shortly have a happy fridge!

My sister in law and 2 nieces are visiting later, they really like the local town for shopping so want a mooch, and we will also fit in a nice lunch.

I plan to do some batch cooking this evening for the week ahead, I am trying to be organised and also save a bit of money this year.

I need to take DS13 to a clinic to get his vaccinations as he freaked out at school due to his anxiety issues so the nurse couldn't to them there.

I'm watching Ds2 play tennis dh has been called out for work, Ds1 is pretending to revise while actually racing on his sim at home. The cats are out and about probably stalking small animals.

Morning all! Gorgeous, bright, sunny day here. DH still in bed, DS on his Switch. Gonna get showered, take the dog out, then DH is off to the footy and DS and I are going to watch Wicked. A few wines in the pub over the road with my best friend later and chicken gyros for tea. Have a great day all!

Dd was supposed to be on a school theatre trip but she has a migraine so I’m just fetching her ibuprofen and contacting the school and getting DS ready for drama club.
we have a dishwasher repair man coming today (thank god as I can’t take washing up any more 🤣). We might go swimming later but will see how tired everyone is.

Tomorrow we need to go into town to get some bits for our ski holiday at half term and we have friends coming to play dungeons and dragons in the afternoon.

Oh to be 18 again! I went to Reflex on Birminghams Broad St for my 18th

Just in the kitchen having my first cuppa of the day. Will do the kids a quick breakfast shortly as we need to get ready to meet family at 12pm for a day of birthday celebrations.

We all had noro over Christmas so froze all our m&s party food, going to have a rummage and see what I can get out for when we eventually arrive home tonight.

Currently on the sofa with a mug of lemon tea - just had dippy eggs and soldiers with DS who is coming down with a cold so we've put a pin in plans for the day. He seems to be perking up a bit with his favourite breakfast and TV 😅

Think I'll do a big clothes sort out and get a load of bits on Vinted - might also deep clean the kitchen cupboards and fridge depending on how long the motivation lasts!

We were going to be out for lunch and dinner but depending on how the sneezes go we're likely to stay in. Ocado shop coming in the morning and we have nothing in so might scrape together a homemade pizza for lunch and order in something for dinner.

Well nothing as exciting is going on here. Both teens and dad out this morning, so I am going to draw “mist”.

Might finish the machine sewing bits, because it’s set up. And depending on what is possible make Mexican and watch JFK later, teens not seen it and we have been talking about it this week.

I've had two coffees, a cuppa and a slice of toast. I'm recovering from storm Eowyn yesterday. It was quite scary. Fortunately I don't seem to have any damage apart from retrieving a bin and rubbish. A heavy plant pot has toppled over so I'll have to sort that.
Today I'm having dgs2 for a sleepover. I might need to go to Aldi for a few things but the sky has gone black and snow is forecast 🙄so I might stay home. Enjoy your day

Good morning @lucysmam and everyone, it’s a beautiful sunny day, cold morning here and the dog and I are back from our early walk, very icy underfoot.
don’t actually have anything planned for today beyond the usual chores.
I might start a new embroidery project or some goldwork embroidery but at the moment I’m having a coffee and then I will tackle the kitchen.

Happy 18th to your Dd1, @lucysmam! I've just finished cleaning the fridge because it's really empty before DH comes back with the shopping later on.

I need to tackle the housework in general this morning while DH does tip runs and the food shop and DS is at a music rehearsal.

Then this afternoon DS has homework and needs to practise with me for an important interview he has next week. DH is going to mend the tumble dryer and sort the garage out a bit. I need to tidy the garden after the storm yesterday and hope to get an hour reading my book as well.

Risotto for dinner tonight, then we'll probably all watch a few episodes of the West Wing which we are introducing DS to. We are on the last episode of season two, so will probably manage the start of season three as well.

Sounds all quite boring written down, but we need a quiet weekend after visitors last weekend and for the next two weekends!

Well we're not in the uk so sadly no haggis but have found a recipe called rumbledethumps which is basically Potato cabbage and swede so going to make that and cranachan too!

Good morning everyone and happy 18th birthday to your dd Lucysmam.

Unusually everybody is awake at this time in our house. Dh and dd20 are at work, dd10 is in the shower and dd17 is getting ready to go into Manchester for the day. I’m on the sofa in my pjs feeling sorry for myself as I have shingles and it hurts so much!

So far today I’ve made an appointment at the hairdressers for me and the 2 younger girls for next week and renewed dd20’s passport for her. I need to do some washing and then jump in the shower. I’m going into town with dd10 for an hour this afternoon to get my nails done and nip into Primark for some new jeans and no doubt dd10 will see something she likes. (The shingles is covered by my clothes and coat so no risk of anyone catching it whilst out).

Tonight we’re having ribs and sweet potato fries for tea and will sit in front of a film before bed.

It's sunny here. I am finally feeling well enough to leave the house after a second bout of flu this winter, so DH and I are going for a long walk around some beautiful nearby gardens. Then he promised to make a veggie curry tonight and I will finish some work left over from when I was too ill to concentrate last week.

Will also arrange a Zoom call with DC. They are both adults now but we have a family chat once a week.

Wishing your daughter a very happy 18th @lucysmam ! It's very quiet here as DD at a sleepover, so am going to enjoy a coffee and pastry without various youtubers shrieking in the background!

The mum hosting the sleepover is one of my best friends so we'll probably take the girls out somewhere for the day, looking like a nice sunny day so far so maybe a walk with a stop for coffee/hot chocolate. DD will want to watch Gladiators later so we'll do that maybe with a takeaway for tea (which reminds me I need to order the food shopping as well!) Happy Saturday everyone 🙂

Just finishing up breakfast, Dh has taken DD to her dance class and is off to buy some more bits for our housewarming party this evening. DS is on the switch and I'm just finishing breakfast. I will be going to do a yoga practice, then shower and wash hair before getting started on making sure the house looks OK for visitors and doing the washing. A friend has kindly said they will have our kids over for a couple of hours this afternoon before the party starts at 6!
