I'm just drinking my first cuppa, in my kitchen spot, while the kittens run riot in the living room 🙄.

It's dd1's 18th birthday today 🥳 so I've just rearranged her presents nicely & stuck some more banners. The pile's exceptionally small this year, but she will love it. My bank balance, less so 💸 <that's yesterdays pay flying away...reminder to self, think things through before committing--.

Once I finish my cuppa, I need to spring into action & tidy round the kitchen so that I can finish her birthday cake. It's not overly complicated so hopefully won't take too long.

Dd1 is off into town with her dad at some point this morning to look for a top to wear tonight, and probably her first drink in a pub!

Dd2's staying here to get a shower and sort her long hair before we go out to celebrate tonight.

We're off to what happens to be my favourite restaurant, with dd1's best friend, to celebrate. I'm looking forward to good food & cocktails but not the bill 🤣.

When we get in, it'll probably be cuppa and bed for me. Yesterday was one of those days & I still have the headache now 🙄.

Im in town having breakfast with DH while DS is at a friends. DD is still in bed. Plan a wander and pick up some bits for tea.

Need to give the dog a good walk. He was hardly out with the storm yesterday. Poor thing was terrified. So much more calmer today.

Making myself do at least 30 mins of ironing. Just a never ending job.

Think we are having markies posh dogs tonight as a treat. And maybe a film.

I have been up for ages as usual. Have had a few cups of tea and a green smoothie for breakfast. Got into the habit of making green smoothies when I was on liquids only a few weeks ago and have kept it up.

Am about to empty the dishwasher and do a bit of a workout and have a shower and then just potter about doing bits of housework and laundry today.

Dinner is gammon steaks for DH and DS and ravioli for me as I’m still on soft foods.

I've had a lazy start today - coffee and book in bed and I'm currently pottering in the kitchen. I've got a wash on and emptied the dishwasher - need to do a bit more tidying.

We're going out for brunch with the dc and ds1's gf as he's home from uni for the week before Dh goes away this afternoon for the weekend.
Nothing much planned for the rest of the day. I need to get a present for my new great-nephew who was born on Thursday, and sort something out for dinner.

I'm looking forward to a night with a glass of wine on the sofa, control of the remote and the bed to myself - Dh very rarely goes away so it's a bit of a treat!

Had a leisurely breakfast while watching the tennis from Melbourne.
Will need to brave the elements later to go outside and check our roof for any damage from the 80mph+ winds we had yesterday.
Still windy here and now we have sleet, so I reckon I won't be venturing very far.
I've been having a ruthless clear out of my wardrobe over the last couple of days , and will finish that task off by sorting through my handbags.
Making steak pie for our tea.

I’m still in bed with OH snoring next to me. He was supposed to be up early to work on a client project but he’s absolutely shattered from the week. I’m contemplating making fluffy pancakes for breakfast after cleaning the kitchen.

After breakfast I’ll start on some client work as well. I also need to strip the bed and clear up the bedroom / start working through dirty laundry. Oh and also survey what the storm’s done to our back garden as well.

Dinner tonight will likely be vegetable couscous salad and homemade meatballs. Plus we have some soup to use as well. I keep meaning to bake olive oil pumpkin bread too.

I’m home alone this weekend Dh is away until Wednesday and Dd has stayed at uni this weekend as she has work today and tomorrow
Had a lie in just put a wash on and now having a coffee and watching last nights love island
Going to have a good clean upstairs and change the beds
Meeting some friends this afternoon for a late lunch at a local pub the suns shining here so going to walk plus I can treat myself to a glass or two of Malbec
No plans for tonight just pyjamas on and watch tv snuggled up with the dog .I might open the espresso baileys Dh got me for Xmas

We are having a lazy day in our pjs this morning followed by visiting some relatives this afternoon and evening.
Tomorrow we are going into Leeds - husband brought me a gift for Christmas that has to be returned as faulty and replacement found :-) might put my irresponsible head on and treat my little girl to the hotel Chocolat café she loves.
She will be having a good run around the park to burn some of the sugar off after 😆.

I was up and out by 8am. Went to Farmfoods to stock up the freezer a bit more. It's now basically full, so I won't buy any more freezer bits for a while.
Then went over to Lidl for a small weekly shop. I've got plans tomorrow to make some chicken and stuffing meatballs that I saw on TikTok a few weeks ago that looked tasty.

Not much planned for the rest of the day. Lounge needs a hoover and I'll run the mop over the hallway and kitchen. I'll print off some stuff for my tutoring business as well.

Dinner tonight will be left over pasta bake, nothing exciting. But then we'll have snacks while watching the Gladiator 2 film on Amazon Prime.

As usual, I lounged in bed MNing with a coffee while DW walked the dogs. All 3 are back now, dogs are shattered so we've just had breakfast in bed while they snooze on it. I'll get up and have an Everything Shower in a minute, my hair is so greasy it could stand up by itself! And my furry legs and nunny... yes a massive shower definitely needed!

We've got no plans today except Burns Night supper tonight, got our haggis ready and we'll be reading poetry and having a laugh together tonight. My first one living in Scotland.

I'll spend the day doing my cross stitch to an audiobook I think. Lovely.

Good morning @lucysmam and the Saturday morning gang. No power here since the storm hit in the early hours of Friday morning. I drove to the nearest town and I've had a hot breakfast and a coffee. On my second coffee now. I'm sitting beside a power point and charging my phone.

I usually do my shopping on a Saturday but there's no point in filling my fridge and freezer while the power is out. So I'm going in search of a battery powered radio and I'm stocking up on coal.

The rest of my day is very weather dependent. If the power comes back, I can do some laundry and put on the dishwasher and hoover etc. If it doesn't come back, I'll be huddled by the fire, listening to the radio.

Volunteered at Parkrun this morning. Was a beautiful dry morning. Am going to a clothes swap later so am hoping to pick up something nice. Probably catch up on some Netflix later.

Lazy morning here after a mad week. Need to go into town as I have loads of bits to pick up, will stop for a coffee and chill. Might do a bit of housework so it’s not all to do tomorrow!

A bright chilly morning as I drink my tea and cling to the radiator.

I am getting some batch meals ready for the freezer whilst listening to some spooky podcasts, and then I am making cranachan to take to a Burns Night supper tonight at friends', having done the shopping yesterday.
They hold it annually and everyone dresses up for it. I am no exception, with a tartan dress and tartan doc martens boots.
(my Scots DF would have had much to say about all that tartan, none of it good)

Somewhere in the middle of all that, I am sawing an inch or so off the tree branch on which my taxidermy sparrow hawk is mounted, so that it will fit comfortably into a lovely glass dome that I bought off eBay.

Tomorrow, it's clearing all the coats from the alcove in the kitchen, ready for the joiner to come and convert it to a large shelved cupboard.
When I was younger, I would never have dreamed of how excited I would be by this sort of thing. Can't wait…

I've just had DC2 and DC3's birthday (3 days apart and before January payday 😩 but mine are younger and still relatively cheap 🙃)

This morning we've been swimming, changed library books and grabbed some supplies for lunch. This afternoon Daddy is taking them all for a long bike ride and a hot chocolate. I'm having a well deserved few hours off. Although I'll probably clear some washing and run the hoover round.

Tonight I'm doing chicken kebabs for dinner with salad, dips and pitta. We'll stick on a film later and an early night all round.

Hellish Sainsbury’s run for birthday party present, then I’m off to work while DH juggles the pick up and drop off to said party around youngest’s naptime and entertaining oldest. Then home to watch some good telly and have a takeaway Nando’s.

Morning all, standard Saturday here. Dance class first thing, 1st load of washing on, little chil on the sofa before lunch.
This afternoon, I have a few errands to do. One of them is to collect the haggis from the butchers for Haggis Neeps and Tatties for this evenings Burns supper.

I'm waiting for my painkillers to kick in, then I'll make egg bites for work lunches, then back to the sofa to watch more telly and carry on feeling rubbish (slipped on ice and fell on my back, hurting it)

Shopping for one of our favourite Saturday meals. Old recipe from an 80s M&S book - Mexican Meatballs. Stovetop casserole method so that we can eat with roasties.

Cinema trips planning and walk later while the sun shines. Bit worried for friends further north with aftermath of storm 💕

Hello @lucysmam and everyone and Happy Birthday to your DD1. Last week was exhausting! For me anyway as I'm pretty decrepit, but I managed to go swimming for the first time since Christmas on Monday, which is a good thing. I had to go to the optician in the morning yesterday and then I had my hair cut in the afternoon which wiped me out. Sad times. So today I had a lie in in the morning and we are being binge watching series 5 of New Amsterdam this afternoon.

I hope the cake decorating goes well @lucysmam . I took both my daughter's out for a meal in a nice restaurant for their 18th birthdays, plus their respective boyfriends at the time. One basically only ate chips, which was a challenge! I had to find somewhere which would agree to make him a cheese omelette and chips while the rest of us ate from the menu. It was a lovely place, closed down years ago though.

Absolutely no plans at all for the rest of the day. I haven't much planned for tomorrow either, but we do need to pick middle grandson up from the cathedral after evensong. My sisters are visiting me on Monday and I'm ridiculously excited! I have a grocery delivery coming tomorrow so we can have a delicious cold spread for lunch. I don't get to see them that often so it is going to be a treat. I will let you know tomorrow whether I actually get the food I ordered 😁
