I finish work at 2pm so am already planning out my evening 😁
Really fancy a takeaway but can't decide between a Thai or an Indian.

What are you eating tonight?
And if you're having a takeaway, what's your order?

Tonight it was all speed, not because anyone's going anywhere but because it's been the longest week ever. So stir fried veg with extra water chestnuts and bamboo shoots, with a very quickly thrown together sauce and Itsu chicken gyozas (The frozen ones). 10 minutes start to finish and delicious!

My dinner was three pieces of smoked haddock fried in butter with half and onion, then when almost cooked splashed with lemon juice and then a dash of double cream and a sprinkle of black pepper. It was absolutely delicious.

That does sounds delicious Ladyof2025

Some really great food inspiration here!

We had the lasagne yesterday, was delicious.
Today will be a roast chicken with lemony potatoes.

We had a cheeseboard on Friday. So delicious. Baron Bigod cheese is the best when left out of the fridge for hours and it’s almost running off the plate 😋

How is it Friday again already!

What’s on the menu for you all today?

We’re going to have small gammon joint thing DH bought as a M&S dine in deal, with whatever the accompaniments he got along with it.

🤦‍♀️ another Friday ? OMG 😦

Chilli- leftover from my half hearted effort last night which was only mince meat with tinned tomatoes and a smidgen of spice. I’ll pep it up.

CorvusPurpureus · 31/01/2025 14:05

Butter tofu curry from the Speedy BOSH book, & a Madhur Jaffrey recipe for spiced cabbage instead of rice, to keep the carbs down a bit.

Will be having a large chef's perk vodka & hibiscus whilst chopping & stirring (which will obvs eliminate all benefits of cabbage-not-rice, but hey it's Friday.)

Andoutcomethewolves · 31/01/2025 16:22

Dhal (homemade, with loads of added veg - onion/peppers/spinach etc), rice and salad. I'm on a bit of a health kick after being a bit ill last week and basically existing on crumpets with butter and marmite (my ultimate comfort food 😅)

APurpleSquirrel · 31/01/2025 17:28

Casareccie Pollo Picante for us.

SquirrelyWirrally · 31/01/2025 17:31

Harrisa lamb, tabbouleh, tzatziki and Greek salad. 😋

weegiemum · 31/01/2025 17:31

Friday night is Indian takeaway night in this house. Dh orders enough side dishes to do him all weekend!!

Titasaducksarse · 31/01/2025 17:37

Homemade cauli and broccoli cheese..ie properly made sauce and not a packet and jacket spud. Do have some good sausages I might do too.
That's the idea but I'm really not hungry or fussed right now

Londonmummy66 · 31/01/2025 18:24

Buckwheat "risotto" with leeks and mushrooms

AliasGrape · 31/01/2025 18:27

DH made homemade pizzas, he makes them beautifully with such a thin, crispy base.

Would love to tell you we had them with a trademark MN massive salad, and I did have that intention, but I couldn’t be arsed in the end so just the pizzas!

CharSiu · 31/01/2025 18:32

Steamed rice, chilli salmon, chick peas and spinach plus some small Indian pakoras and samosas that were on offer will, have them with yogurt and mint plus salad.

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 31/01/2025 18:34

Sweet and sour tofu with fried rice - it's a takeaway on its way now .
