I finish work at 2pm so am already planning out my evening 😁
Really fancy a takeaway but can't decide between a Thai or an Indian.

What are you eating tonight?
And if you're having a takeaway, what's your order?

We're getting a takeaway. We'd usually get something like Thai, Vietnamese, Korean etc but I'm craving something a bit less healthy so we're opting for an American style BBQ place - beef brisket, pulled pork, chicken, 'burnt ends', fries, coleslaw, beans and mac n cheese. I can't wait 😋

TartanMammy · 24/01/2025 12:58

We're going to have haggis, neeps and tatties. Burns is tomorrow but the dc missed the burns supper at school today so I'll make it a day early.

McZeba · 24/01/2025 13:03

I will be making General Tso's Chicken - not had it for a while as it's a bit of a faff but it always goes down well.

And I picked up some frozen almond croissants from Waitrose for breakfast tmw.

I've got a Waitrose delivery on its way and it's missing two quite key items (ice cream and bacon, naturally) so I'm popping in on my way home to grab them, and some of these maaaaayyyy just accidentally fall into my basket.

DH wants fish and chips tonight but I fancy ramen and pho or something hot and soupy and spicy. We do quite often order from different places tbf.

PiastriThePastry · 24/01/2025 13:05

Just had a McDonalds after my son’s swimming lesson 😅 not sure what to do for tea really. Maybe I’ll put a stew on in the slow cooker 🤔

Moonshine5 · 24/01/2025 13:07

Sushi (restaurant)

SereneCapybara · 24/01/2025 13:08

Going out for Japanese with a friend, so maybe a bento box but probably a big bowl of noodles with nori and chicken and wild mushrooms and egg.

Cottage pie here.Mince in slow cooker .Will assemble later ,son coming down for WE.Looking forward to it. Our friends bday tomorrow ,so trip to Harvester !

We had cottage pie last night. DH suddenly fancied it and made it. I hadn't had it in years as DC (now grown) didn't like it. It was soooooo good.

Coldanddamp · 24/01/2025 13:12

@bostonchamps DH has asked me twice already (he's wfh) if we should have one 😆

Coldanddamp · 24/01/2025 13:15

Apparently Aldi do good frozen pastries but I've not tried them yet.

MassiveSalad22 · 24/01/2025 13:18

Bloody bolognese again 🙄🙄
Although was proud of myself this week as found a proper hearty delicious meal 2/3 kids would eat - Marry Me Chicken, taming twins slow cooker version. So good!

I’m dying for a jacket potato but there were no suitable ones in the shop.

Fancy tastes me 😄

Tissuesandfluff · 24/01/2025 13:21

We are in the red zone so I've had to change take away plans and it will be a freezer dive and wine

NormasArse · 24/01/2025 13:22

I’m having a burger, wedges and roasted veg for lunch.

Dinner is a shepherdess pie.

All from previous batch cooks, other than the veg.

I don’t want to go outside- there are some very old trees around here and the wind is scary!!

I have some wine in the fridge… 😊

roses2 · 24/01/2025 13:25

Aldi specially selected battered cod + McCain Gastro chips - yum!

Musicalmistress · 24/01/2025 13:25

We're smack bang in the middle of the red zone so shops all shut.
Thankfully had plenty in for lunch so we're currently enjoying Scottish morning roll with thick cut ham and Tyrell's cheese and onion crisps with a massive mug of tea - lunch of champions!
Dinner is a Hello Fresh spicy nduja risotto, not tried it before but it sounds nice, with lots of wine which we stocked up on yesterday ahead of today's storm.

Rockfordpeach · 24/01/2025 13:28

We always have takeaway on a Friday but I'm trying to cook more and save money. Beef casserole with roast potatoes and broccoli tonight.

mandarinchocolate · 24/01/2025 13:29

Roast beef, chips, spinach, petit pois, gravy and horseradish.
Apple crumble and custard for pudding.

Didntstop · 24/01/2025 13:45

Rib eye steak, crispy cubed potatoes, rocket
and garlic mushrooms.

ImWearingPantaloons · 24/01/2025 13:46

@Plump82 excellent choice!

ThirdStorm · 24/01/2025 13:46

Fish, chips, garlic mushrooms and puree mint peas. I look forward to it all week!

FoxtrotIndigoSierraHotel · 24/01/2025 13:50

I'm by myself for lunch which is rare. I have been craving tuna steak but they didn't have any at the supermarket. I've just snaffled stir fried veg with garlic, ginger, chilli and soy and panfried myself a salmon fillet with soy and sesame oil. Was bloody delicious and super healthy 🌟

We're having takeaway tonight - chicken shish kebabs.

Postbox10 · 24/01/2025 13:53

An awful pregnancy craving here - but Bernard Matthews turkey drummers! Hadn’t had then since primary school and had to google to see if they still existed! Will have with some veg to try and give the baby at least some nutrients 😂

LindorDoubleChoc · 24/01/2025 14:03

Dd and her boyfriend are making us chicken katsu curry. Dd lived in Japan for a year so I have high expectations!

CloseYourRingStress · 24/01/2025 14:05

Fish here, maybe cod loin, probably with some sort of potato and steamed veg. I might have a bit of cheese and grapes afterwards, will make a pudding for DC.
