Haven't left the house in 5 days - friend wants to meet, what should we do?

Ok, realised it's crazy I haven't left the house in 5 days, but... I work from home and the weather has been shit 🤧
Friend wants to meet tonight and honestly, I can't be bothered to get dressed up, but know it will be good for me. Can anyone suggest what we can do? We're both awful at making decisions.

Grab a bite to eat and then cinema

kimchisauchio · 18/01/2025 15:01

Definitely go out though
5 days inside…. I’d be going insane

kimchisauchio · 18/01/2025 15:01

or make it an afternoon thing and go for a walk and finish off with a drink

Lobstercrisps · 18/01/2025 15:03

You haven't left the house for 5 days? You don't go for a walk at some point? Or a run? Even to the shop for milk?

You really need to go out. I'd meet for a walk and then a drink in a pub.

Rafting2022 · 18/01/2025 15:05

Get her to come to you and order takeaway.

See how many days you can stay in before you can’t avoid leaving!

But that just means another day indoors for the op

And she said she can’t be bothered - I’m saying she doesn’t have to.

@Rafting2022

well she does really. She can’t stay indoors forever. Plus her mate might not wanna sit in with a takeaway.

LuckySantangelo35 · 18/01/2025 15:16

@brassandswitch

get yourself dressed up Op! And get out! You’ll feel loads better for it

NordicwithTeen · 18/01/2025 15:17

Have her over for dinner instead?
Deliveroo or ask her to bring something to cook if you've not got enough in.

verycloakanddaggers · 18/01/2025 15:18

Go somewhere really cosy. I'd pick a nice cafe/pub with comfy seats, food and a fire.

Or the cinema.

GoneGirl12345 · 18/01/2025 15:19

Pub grub or drink then dinner in a casual restaurant

Whatabouthow · 18/01/2025 15:25

Pub with a fire? Like a comfy version of home?

stayathomer · 18/01/2025 15:28

I think you need a walk op- fresh air!

Onlyonekenobe · 18/01/2025 15:29

Go somewhere you don’t need to get fancy dressed up for, but do need to shower and put clean clothes on for. Somewhere not too long a walk or drive away. Food and drink and chat. Nothing overwhelming though. Drink at the pub followed by dinner somewhere?

Cantbebotheredwithausername · 18/01/2025 15:35

Go for a walk and a coffee! You need some fresh air and exercise!

NOTANUM · 18/01/2025 15:54

Except when I had Covid in the original wave, I can’t remember a time where I ever spent 6 days indoors!
My vote would be for cinema and a bite to eat.

BountifulPantry · 18/01/2025 16:03

Cinema is a good shout if you CBA to dress up or socialise- you still get out the house and a chat without it being too much.

Otherwise you could do a class - yoga or something chilled? Bit of a mood booster.

BountifulPantry · 18/01/2025 16:05

What about hot yoga class to combat the bad weather or if you have a membership a swim steamroom and sauna?

jannier · 18/01/2025 16:06

Doesn't look great for your physical or mental health to be honest this is the problem with WFH force yourself.

I highly doubt she’ll stay in forever - if she doesn’t want to go out today, that’s fine.

brassandswitch · 18/01/2025 16:20

Thanks all, we've chosen pizza express for dinner, cheap and cheerful 🤣

Where is the confusion?

Rafting2022 · 18/01/2025 15:15

She doesn’t have to
but even the op recognised it would probably be good for her

and staying in for yet another day and getting a takeaway is unlikely to

12purplepencils · 18/01/2025 17:32

I know not the point of the thread but don’t you feel icky after a day or two? Use your legs to walk otherwise one day you might realise you can’t!
