What do you eat for breakfast that’s not toast or cereal?

I have always eaten toast but I am finding it a bit stodgy some days especially if I have a sandwich for lunch and it’s just too much bread!

I don’t have cereal as I don’t like milk. I don’t like eggs and I don’t like berries and yogurt type things.

I am not as fussy as I sound! I am wondering what other people have and maybe it will give me some ideas.

Mine's more of a light snack mid morning after fasting, and exercise. Currently I'm having 30g toasted mixed nuts & seeds, vegan yogurt and home made stewed blueberry chia jam. It suits me, as it's light and easily digested.

Eggs & mushrooms or avocado
Full fat Greek yogurt & berries
Home made granola
Left over dinner

Scrambled egg and tomato.

I fast until lunchtime usually but will also have a home made smoothie at 11 or so.

Spinach, berries, tubers, ginger, collagen powder, protein powder, green powder, flaxseed. Pineapple or banana.

Looks like ok fester and isn't delicious. It I consider health insurance. I am never sick.

Coconut and lentil dhal with rice.
Especially after a night shift, when breakfast doesn’t feel like breakfast!
It’s a meal for any time of day.

I have crumpets every day. Love them!

BabyToothbrush · 03/10/2025 21:09

You said you don't like milk, does that rule out porridge? Do you not like yoghurt at all? I often have Greek style yoghurt with granola and a mixture of seeds e.g. chia, sesame, pumpkin, sometimes a little jam or honey or peanut butter mixed in too.

Still breads but alternatives to toast - English muffins, pitta bread, bagels, fruit loaf, crumpets. I find peanut butter the best topping for those (well, except fruit loaf!) as it keeps me fuller than any other. English muffins with tomato puree and grated cheese and put under the grill is good too.

Pastries like croissants or pain au chocolat, scotch or homemade pancakes, or waffles with fruit and Nutella or peanut butter on occasion too as treats.

I like rice pudding for breakfast. Make a big batch and portion up. It's good hot or cold and you can add toppings similar to oatmeal. Kedgeree is also another favourite in our house. Love some rice for breakfast

Eat what ever you want. You don't have to do traditional breakfast foods.

henlake7 · 03/10/2025 23:10

🙄🙄🙄she knows that, she's just looking gir suggestions.

@25GBUK mine won't help. I'm vegetarian & diet restricted due to health issues. If I'm up to it, Fage Greek (blue/full fat) yogurt (sometimes with frozen raspberries & almond flakes) if I'm not up to messing about, Arla Protein yogurt it's still low ish carb, it's single serve but has a lot more additives that I'd rather avoid when possible.

I used to love toast & peanut butter or avocado.

leftover...yum.

enjoy eating what you can, while you can, would be my advice!!
