Remember that time Musk got involved in the Thai cave rescue, developed a useless submarine which was not used and then called one of the rescuers who criticised him a paedophile.

CamelByCamel · 05/01/2025 21:12

Is he on a coke binge? It's been an incoherent few days. I don't suppose anyone is shocked that this is turning into a People's Front of Judea situation, but I didn't necessarily expect it within like 72 hours.

Have to say it made me chuckle.

Me too. I wonder how long before he and Trump fall out...

I PMSL. Yesterday Farage boasted about Musk's belief in him and how this support made Reform look cool. Today Nigel looks like Elon's dancing monkey.🐒 🤣

SoapySponge · 05/01/2025 21:38

I've scraped better things than Farage off the sole of my shoe.

This is hilarious in the context of Farage talking to Kuenssburg this morning about how close their relationship is and how much he was helping Reform. He described Musk as a hero.

And Alan Johnson said it will all end in tears! That's why I had a giggle to myself too.

noblegiraffe · 05/01/2025 22:16

I thought Musk and Trump would fall out before Musk and Farage.

Musk has been banging on about free Tommy Robinson, Farage goes 'actually I don't think Musk is correct there', and Musk goes 'Farage should go' because he doesn't like being disagreed with.

What happens next will be interesting as it will demonstrate if English politicians are willing to jump when Musk says so. If e.g. Rupert Lowe (who Musk has posted as a potential successor to Farage) suddenly starts making Free Tommy Robinson noises, then we'll know he's absolutely willing to do tricks for money which should kill his electoral chances.

Luddite26 · 05/01/2025 22:27

I am no fan of Farage in any way shape or form but I would put a bet on that Farage is more popular (unfortunately) in Britain than Musk. He didn't really need to get into bed with him but, that is the measure of the man, I guess.

Musk has a point.
The UK is in desperate need of "Reform" but Farage is the last person suited for the job. I think E Musk wants the job.

And you're not concerned about Musk's agenda in interfering with UK politics? He isn't doing it for the greater good of the people, he is doing it for his own self interest. As if he isn't powerful enough already without having a hand in our political system. Scary times.

Ketamine. Loads of the stuff.

Agree. Reform do need money, they have financial woes at the moment I believe. However, they actually don't need a massive cash injection that only Musk can conceivably give since UK politics is a lot less expensive than US politics. So donations tend to be smaller even for larger/more established parties. That doesn't mean that politicians can't be bought. But its less essential for them to walk round with the begging bowl. So Musk could be much more useful financially then because he is popular. But its useful. Not needed.

Snorlaxo · 05/01/2025 22:35

Another one here surprised that Trump and Musk has lasted this long.
It would be interesting to know if Musk has really fallen out with Farage or as pp said, is this a drugs binge or attempt for attention ?

Ellmau · 05/01/2025 22:37

Hilarious.

Farage is dreadful, imo but his party is entirely built on him. If he resigned they would fade into irrelevancy just as UKIP did.

I definitely see Musk trying to succeed Trump at the next election.

Theworldisfullofgs · 05/01/2025 22:39

Why all of the musk threads, all of the sudden?

He can't, Musk wasn't born in the US.

Why all of the musk threads, all of the sudden?

Because Musk went on a massive posting spree on twitter this weekend posting all sorts of shit about the UK government and various politicians?

JennyForeigner · 05/01/2025 22:40

Who'd have thought that Musk could call for Farage to resign and come across as MORE of a stupid prick?

Too lazy to realise Farage's political parties are privately owned. Absolutely wankers, the whole grifting shower of them.

Because of his recent posts on X

RubyWinehouse · 05/01/2025 22:46

I'm guessing you all still rely on the mainstream media. Free Tommy Robinson

JennyForeigner · 05/01/2025 22:46

Also, there should be a German compound noun for the feeling when you don't want Musk to give his horrible money to the far right but also are super annoyed by how he pretends like it is going to happen just for the lols and then half-asses some even stupider quarrel with his former idiot friends so he doesn't have to pay up.

Why won't he just GO AWAY.

The Tommy Robinson who pleaded guilty?

Mittens67 · 05/01/2025 22:48

This gave me my best laugh for ages. Love watching two people I detest turn on each other. Really hoping this happens with Musk and Trump next.

rewilded · 05/01/2025 22:50

This will get Farage more votes. It is theatre. They are playing out a Greek tragedy.

Something is going to happen between Musk and Trump. Both men-children with fragile egos. My bet is that Musk will turn on Trump, just like he turned on Farage. He's shown he has zero personal loyalty, and it seems he acts on emotions.
