I'm just drinking my first cuppa, in my kitchen spot. The kittens are causing havoc playing in here, and everyone else is still sleeping.

I've had a bit of a tidy round already, while the kettle was boiling, and will do the rest when I've drunk my cuppa.

We're off into town today - the girls are shopping with their dad for my birthday in the week & I need to return something I was given for Christmas. Except I don't quite know what I did with the receipt after I was given it 🙄

I think we might eat in town, then head home for an afternoon of nothing much. Maybe finish taking down the decorations.

This evening will be a help yourself kind of affair for tea, if we eat out, followed by early ish showers all round. Then chill with my book before bed.

I've just realised I told dd2 I'd look at her History homework at some point too, so we'd best squeeze that in!

Well! I’m having a lazy morning with a coffee, but you’ve clearly started on the gin early 🤣

I wish it was Christmas Eve and I had another week off coming up!

Still waiting for the kids to get up; we’ll probably go out for the day as their usual Saturday activities haven’t started up yet. Not sure where yet, will discuss over breakfast. Fish and risotto for dinner then I’ll try to get them to bed on time so they’re ready for their normal early start for school on Monday.

This has cheered me up. I'm going to pretend it is indeed Christmas Eve and get stuck into the Sherry!

Oh dear 😂 my DD and I are going into town later to spend our vouchers. Need to go food shopping after.

Good morning. It’s bloody freezing here today and I really struggled to sleep as it was so cold so I’ve been up since 6.15am. There’s just me and dh up so far and we’re drinking tea waiting for the Tesco delivery which is due any minute.

All 3 of the girls are still asleep along with dd17’s girlfriend and dd10’s friend who slept over last night.

Today’s plan is to go to the retail park with dh and dd10 to spend some Christmas money and maybe stop for a quick drink and some lunch somewhere while we’re out. We have invited dd20 and dd17 but they don’t want to come.

This afternoon we need to do a quick tidy up downstairs and hoover round then I’m making a Chinese fakeaway for tea. It’s a friend’s birthday on Monday so he’s invited a few people to the bingo and for a few drinks tonight but I’m shattered after no sleep last night and my brain is frazzled from starting my new job on Thursday so dh will go along but I’ll stay in, have a night in front of the tv then get an early night. I’m boring, I know, but I just don’t want to go out and would rather hibernate for the weekend!

Edited to add I didn’t even notice you’d written Christmas Eve! I clearly need more sleep. 😂

My dad text me happy new year at 12 o’clock last night, then I have woken up and seen this. I think there is a glitch in my matrix.

Good morning Lucysmam and others. I have been unwell and I'm slowly recovering. It's also very icy out so I intend to stay home and potter. If it thaws, I'll venture forth for milk and bread. I still have loads of food in the fridge so don't need to restock yet. A quiet day ahead. Enjoy your day

Well I don’t think its christmas eve…

Not much here, our boiler is broken so we don’t have any heating or hot water and it was -9 over the night, so thats fun. I’m staying in to wait for the engineer and my husbands taken the kids to his grandmas for the day so they’re not cold. Hopefully they should be here by 11, it is an older system so it may need completely replacing which would be a bummer.

Merry Christmas everyone! Sitting watching the festive edition of Gogglebox with the heater blasting out - it’s gone really cold here in Cornwall. Second cuppa of the day on the go & just ate a small Lindt chocolate Santa. May well eat a reindeer too. I bought a sleigh to go on the table on the big day but forgot all about it. I was up very early as I have some pains at the moment & can’t get comfy in bed. Fed up as I was loads better for ages. Should be sorting the rabbits out but it’s so cosy in here. Will unload/load the dishwasher in a bit. Working later. DH is working this morning then again mid afternoon. DD16 has emerged to go to the loo but we probably won’t see her for at least a couple of hours yet. Easy tea - I’ve defrosted a Pizza Express pasta dish & DH will have bolognese filled ravioli with a tub of tomato & basil sauce. I need to parcel up something I’ve sold on Facebook marketplace & find out the cost of postage. Have a good Saturday folks.

I’m still in bed - it’s sooo cold. When DD’s carers get here we’ll head out, probably go to our local cafe first for a coffee and to plan the day. I’ve a feeling DP will want a trip to B&Q, which is basically Selfridges to him.

The biggest excitement of the weekend will come from click and collecting our new loo seat from Waitrose later.

Not sure what we’ll do for the rest of the day - it’s supposed to snow at some point, which DD will love. Will just need to persuade her to put some trousers on before she heads into the garden!

Nothing planned here today. It’s really frosty and I don’t like driving in frost but we need to get groceries so that’s the main plan.

I could go for it being Christmas Eve again!

I just had a very healthy breakfast of two packets of crisps (prawn cocktail) and two chocolate wafer bars, found hidden in a cupboard from when my mum brought them over to me from the UK. The crisps were out of date but still good - I was not going to let such a rare treasure go to waste!

DS is playing with the neighbour's grandson before he goes back to his parents again, then OH is going to take him sledging.

DD is asleep, and I'm going to let her sleep as late as she wants, then she has to stay up all night and all day tomorrow to get back into a diurnal routine for school on Tuesday.

Tonight OH's friends are coming round to play music and livestream it, as they did last night. I might listen, out of view of the cameras.

We've just had Pain Au Chocolat for breakfast and lots of coffee.

It's very frosty here and we have snow forecast this afternoon so I'm going to nip out to the shops early to avoid the worst of it.

Morning everyone! I thought there wasn't our usual thread today- clicked on this one out of curiosity and then cracked up when I realised what had happened!

I'm still in bed, haven't even ventured out for a cup of coffee as it's so cold and I'm so snuggly, I am starving now though so will trek all the way downstairs for breakfast.

Need to go to the post office with a Vinted parcel, then we're off to Ikea and Costco. Honestly, this is a really fun day for me! Meatballs, mooching and shopping. Brilliant.

We're half way through watching Gladiators so we'll finish that tonight and have a chicken curry Gousto meal for tea.

I've been for my Saturday run and chat, and am currently drinking coffee and watching the bluetits on dh's new bird feeder.
Ds1 and I are going to my mum's this afternoon to play scrabble and drink tea - he's back at uni next week and hasn't seen much of her so it's nice that he's giving her a few hours today. Ds2 needs to do some revision and also plans to see his gf I think.
I'm meeting a friend for an early doors drink and catch up, then back for Singapore noodles and sofa chilling in front of the fire. It's forecast snow later so we'll see if that materialises.

I'm not really sure of my plan for today. I'm just now having breakfast after a very late wake up. I stayed at a new friends house till midnight yesterday which is very unusual for me. I'm normally asleep by 9. Feeling quite happy as I don't make friends easily.

Things I might do today are, take the tree down, search for new car insurance l, read one of the books I got for Christmas, do s9me financial planning for the things I want to be able to afford this year and eat chocolate.

I had an early one as I lay awake thinking about work for two hours, so in the end got up at 530 and worked to clear my mind. Then back to bed. Just got up again and am on the sofa with a coffee and Radio 3 plus a hottie on a sore muscle. Soon I'll ring FIL then we'll go into town to get a set of lyrics framed - dp got them for Christmas as his favourite band are broke approachable enough to write out lyrics for fans. Ds should be back at some point from a London adventure and I'm making a big chilli for dinner.

Morning, plans today are take dc to see sonic 3 at the cinema & then go for some food.
Then back home for a nice hot bubbly bath & carry on with my book.

Having a quiet coffee and breakfast at a coffee shop
not much planned today other than a gym session and friends over later.
bit tired after the last couple of weeks and the urge to hibernate is strong 😂
