DH and still really enjoying “Christmas” but I’m quite done with ham, cheese and pigs and blanket flavoured crisps!!!

What’s on the menu for everyone for tonight?

Spag bol with sauce I froze before Christmas plus some salad

BunnyLake · 03/01/2025 15:41

Carbonara tonight. I couldn’t be bothered to go food shopping today and as we have bacon and eggs in that’s what it will be. I am seriously bored of food and cooking (but will happily eat it if it was presented to me). I’m totally out of meal ideas.

Fish fingers, chips and beans because I'm sick of food. So we are having a good old fashioned comfort meal.

Quiche & baby potatoes with salad. I bought a load of bits for the buffet we attended on NYE & quite a few didn't get opened & got sent back with us. We are broke until next Friday so will have lots of random combinations until then!

Mumofyellows · 03/01/2025 16:45

Trying a recipe card I got in Waitrose, Harissa meatball and bean stew with cous cous! Looks delish and really simple.

Iceache · 03/01/2025 16:55

Chorizo carbonara (linguine tossed with pan fried chorizo, Parmesan and egg yolk), fresh salad & garlic bread. I can’t really be arsed cooking but I’ll regret it if I order a takeaway!

Cerialkiller · 03/01/2025 16:57

Morrisons had reduced stuff so it's veg spring rolls, bhajis. Left over rice then I will whip up a yogurt raita and serve with salad.

Amazingday · 03/01/2025 17:05

Leftover party food. Was ill all Christmas and new year so cancelled the party. Freezer and fridge full and needs eating. So eating what we didn’t get to eat. Buffet for 2!

We love Thomasina Miers' Mexican cookbooks. This is her Fish Tacos recipe. I use brioche or sourdough instead of tacos and I buy the salsa in a jar from Tesco.

Tacos www.thomasinamiers.com/blog/fish-tacos

Slaw is just shredded red/white cabbage, lime juice, fresh coriander, olive oil (and black beans if you fancy them).
