We're just about to head into town for dinner with DS then hopefully get him to bed at a decent hour. Then it'll be a nice bottle of red wine, a few G&Ts and the plan is to watch a music documentary before Hootenanny. May stay up til midnight. Most likely won't!

We've had a lovely, overindulgent December, so we're going for a sushi order with some miso soup.
Neither of us fancy alcohol after lots over the last 6 weeks, so just soft drinks for us.
Wind is howling outside, and we will get Spectre (James Bond) and the fire on 🥰 definitely won't be making midnight!

comewhinewith · 31/12/2024 17:14

My eating capacity is limited at the moment (thanks Mounjaro), so the rest of the family are having pizza, then I'll join in for cheese/pate and biscuits and maybe some mulled wine.

We're going to watch a movie marathon until midnight.

greengreyblue · 31/12/2024 17:15

Staying home with DH , lots of candles and twinkly light, lots of recorded stuff on tv, Waitrose sushi and cava! Cheers!

Beamur · 31/12/2024 17:17

Salmon and noodles.
Cava.
Just planning the telly now! On the list so far is Cunk on Life as DH seems incapable of having the patience for a film 😄

saltandvinegarchipsticks · 31/12/2024 17:17

Curry - chicken Ceylon for me - and a dry white wine. Watching The Substance. Then probably going to bed early 😂

Pogpog21 · 31/12/2024 17:24

To drink.: Cocktails, champagne
to eat: M&S crispy duck. Some spring rolls and prawn toasts. Then continue to plough through Christmas cakes/ biscuits.
bed early.

faintingfancy · 31/12/2024 17:26

Steak pie, mashed potato and honey roasted carrots. Cheesecake for after.

I’ll probably be in bed by 9pm with a book 😂 worked 9 - 4pm today and both daughter and husband aren’t well with a cold so early nights for all I imagine 😅

Gemütlich81 · 31/12/2024 17:27

Champagne (wedding present from the summer), steak and chips. Plus leftover Christmas chocolate and some time to reflect on the year and some planning for next year! Definitely watching TV with fireworks at midnight :) have a wonderful number everyone 😍

FeltCarrot · 31/12/2024 17:31

Was supposed to be going to a friends for a dinner party but I’ve had a fluey bug since Boxing Day, so DH going on his own. DC out doing their own thing so I’ll be on my own hoovering up the last of the cheese.

Jewell25 · 31/12/2024 17:33

Just the two of us. Partner is making pasta carbonara followed by sticky toffee pudding & custard. We’ll watch a film & see midnight in with a couple of drinks.

Isabella40 · 31/12/2024 17:40

We have a mix of party food/nibbles, Prosecco and watching Sophie Ellis Bexter.

My daughter and I saw her at the Cheltenham jazz Festival in May and she was amazing.

Ayechinnyreckon · 31/12/2024 17:40

Reassuringly expensive rib eye steak, homemade potato dauphinois and, garlic kale and peas. Bottle of rioja and champagne for later, but I'll likely be in bed before midnight.

GameOfJones · 31/12/2024 17:46

Nachos for us tonight and a bottle of fizz.

We'll be watching Sophie Ellis Bextor on the BBC as I absolutely love her! There will likely be some dancing round the living room.

Then fireworks on the TV and off to bed.

ThePoshUns · 31/12/2024 17:52

Tesco Finest dine in meal deal:
Steak pie, mash, cavalero nero.
Lemon cheesecake.
Bottle or two of cremant.
Will walk down to the village at midnight to watch the fireworks of they go ahead.

CassandraWebb · 31/12/2024 18:00

Food - fancy cheeses and crackers plus an assortment of random bits DH picked up in Waitrose
Drink : sparkling water (medication wrecked my liver this year)
TV: the Christmas prince trilogy alternating with Die hard Grin
Am also building my new Christmas Lego and have a heated blanket and dog and DH to keep me warm

A very chilled evening before the children come back tomorrow!

StMarie4me · 31/12/2024 18:06

Chicken. Baileys. Gordon Ramsay Hotel Hell!

jhar · 31/12/2024 18:08

Roast potatoes
Red cabbage
Peas
Macaroni cheese

At the request of the four kids.

Inside out and then pretend midnight at 9.

Family buffet tomorrow.

Cravey · 31/12/2024 18:08

Turkey curry for dh, veg soup for me. Both homemade. Cocktails for me and whisky for dh, also trifle at his request. Happy new year!

Cravey · 31/12/2024 18:09

Forgot to say we are watching bad sisters and hopefully Jools.

RaspberryBeretxx · 31/12/2024 18:11

Drinking prosecco, maybe with a bit of sloe gin in it for a sort of kir royale. Eating fajitas with all the extras then sticky toffee puddings with cream or ice cream.

BearSoFair · 31/12/2024 18:11

4/5 of us are at home - only DS1 is going out with his girlfriend later.

MN's favourite tea for us - picky bits 😂
Pizza, burger bites, tandoori chicken skewers, mini sausage rolls, halloumi fries, jalapeno poppers, doritos and dips. Not big drinkers so just a few beers in the fridge and an open bottle of Baileys.

Doesn't seem to be much on telly so we'll probably stick a dvd on and start a new jigsaw or a couple of rounds of board games.

May09Bump · 31/12/2024 18:12

We are eating whatever everyone chooses - kids = ribs, pizza, hotdogs. Adults = cheese, Spanish ham & cheeses, bits and bobs (we are part Spanish). Shloer for the kids and Cava / grapes for midnight for the adults.

There's a junk food buffet in the Kitchen - crisp (various), marshmallows, Haribo's, chocolate, etc.

Lyle Lyle crocodile on TV ATM - then hopefully find a channel with NYE celebrations from around the world.

Jakadaal · 31/12/2024 18:15

We are in tonight and have postponed our usual NYE plans due to illness all round. Chinese takeaway ordered and I suspect it will be an early night. TBH I'm quite relieved lol

BiddyPop · 31/12/2024 16:13

I have just opened some tasty local crisps (have been very good this season) and I have a white wine, DH a Belgian beer.

We plan a dinner of prawns and avocado, duck breast with cauliflower (piri piri chick for dd), and possibly some kind of dessert..if I get organised. I have a nice bottle of Rioja for dinner, and a bottle of Prosecco for later.

Not a clue what we'll be watching, but I am turning off you tube videos of car repairs very very soon!!!

Just me here, although dd and her friend are about. I’m drinking my last baileys (how have I drunk a litre in a week 😱) and then I have a small bottle of Prosecco and will offer a glass to the girls but they’re not really drinkers so I’ll probably drink it all.

No doubt asleep by 10, but have an alarm set for 11.50 to take the dog into my study which is quieter and has his crate in. I’ll be seeing the new year in trying to keep a terrified dog as calm as I can, poor love. We normally listen to the pixies during fireworks so looking forward to that! Hoping for gales and pouring rain tbh!!

I love New Year’s Day - feels full of possibilities

VodkaCola · 31/12/2024 18:19

We're making burgers, wedges and salad, drinking champagne and watching Fortitude and Squid Game.

We'll be snuggled up with our dog on the sofa and have already lit the wood burner.

I doubt I'll make it until midnight, but you never know!

Happy New Year everyone ✨️
