Good Morning everyone! What are you all up to this New Year's Eve?

I'm just about to take my tablets with my first brew of the day. It's all quiet down here so I'll have ten minutes silence while I drink it then go an get dressed before my Dad gets here.

He's dropping off dd2's birthday card from the weekend. I'll ask while he's here if he'll nip me to Morrisons for kitten food.

When he's gone I plan to tidy the fridge then spend the day crafting. I've got peg people and crochet I want to finish before I buy another project I've seen 🙈

We'll probably have a buffet style tea tonight, and a couple of drinks for me. Doubt I'll be up to see in the New Year though 🤷‍♀️. I'll probably read later on, for an hour or two, before I head to bed 💤

We are just about to go out bowling with the kids. Very stormy here. Outside is not inviting!

We will nip to shops after and get supplies in for tonight. Prob a picky buffet tea too.

No plans for tonight. Probably a game with the kids and a wee gin. I feel a bit flat about tonight. Half wish I was doing something but also half glad we are not. Weather is awful. I’m always tired just now too 🙈

We're away for the holidays and there's a fantastic unmanned kids space open 24/7 - our internal clocks are v messed up (it's early here) but here we are with DS playing happily with other long-haul travellers whilst all the parents scroll their phones and occasionally try and mediate a multi-language dispute among the kids 😂

More kids club and lots of swimming later. It's funny, before this trip DS hated swimming, barely tolerated weekly lessons and flat out refused to go near a pool on holiday, but he's embracing water slides here so I'm taking full advantage. May do a bit of souvenir shopping too.

There's an all-ages NYE party tonight but I'm not sure we'll stay awake for it all to be honest. Maybe if we sneak in an afternoon nap 🤞

Hi 👋 I'm slow cooking the beef today for tomorrow's pie. Reading and a lazy day the weather is awful in my part of Scotland. My son will be back in the afternoon he has been away with his dad cycling and staying in a glamping pod. No doubt I will have a pile of muddy wet clothes to wash. For tea it will be whatever I find in the freezer. I will stay up to the bells with a couple of glasses of wine. Might suggest a film with my son

I'm feeling like a bag of shit. Body clocks all gone here. Sleeping too much. Zero motivation. Its actually horrible.

But I have the hogmanay stew on the go and will have a little party with the kids later. We will all see midnight just like the last 5 nights 😂

I have been up since around 8. Have tidied the kitchen and unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher. My sister and her family are staying and it was a late and alcoholic evening. As usual!

Waiting for them all to appear as we are going out for a wander around a small town nearby and having lunch out. Then I need to get a few things from Waitrose.

We are having an Asian/Chinese buffet tonight. Crispy duck etc and DH is making chicken satay and we have lots of other bits. Then probably play Trivial Pursuit and stay up for new year. If we didn’t have guests staying I’d probably be in bed early though!

Good morning Lucysmam and others. The weather in my part of Scotland is dire, heavy rain and wind. Fortunately I did most of the shopping yesterday and only need a quick trip to Aldi for a couple of things. Today I will be preparing food for tomorrow. I have my aunt and uncle coming for dinner tomorrow. I'll make soup and start the trifle today. I have stripped the bed and am on the second wash so there won't be any clothes in the wash basket into the new year. It's a superstition I can't quite escape! Some housework to do and that's it. Have a good new year when it comes. Thank you @lucysmam for this lovely thread over the year.

Good morning I'm cleaning this morning then cooking nibbly bits for tonight. Tomorrow I have 8 here for lunch - soup starter, melon for the kids, roast beef dinner and all the trimmings and pav and apple tart for afters.

Woke up far too early again. It's becoming a habit I can't shake. Off to ride this morning with DD and then need to go to the shops for a few bits. Back to the yard to watch DD ride again this afternoon and then get her home to go to her dads. Think DH is going out tonight but I'm staying home to keep the new arrivals company... . Arrived Sunday and let's just say it's a good job I like a challenge! Will pick myself up some snacks from M&S to keep me company!

Good morning all and a Happy New Year! We had plans to go to Cambridge for a bit of shopping, a punt and a very early fancy Japanese dinner, then home for midnight. Rail engineering works have totally scuppered that so I've just bagged the last table at the local pub for this evening for DH and I , and we will eat there then come home in time for the fireworks and then worry about dd2 who is going into London and isn't the best at thinking through how to get home.

Good morning @lucysmam and followers, the sun is trying to come out here, thank goodness the weather’s brightening up at last!
There was a very unusual pink/grey sky first thing, it looked almost like it might snow with a bitterly cold wind for the dog walk. She enjoyed a good chase around so she’s now asleep on the sofa.
Dh has gone off for a hospital appointment so goodness knows when he’ll be back. He was moaning about having to drive to the hospital all day yesterday 🙄
What beautiful cats @Justonedayatatime11 , very striking colours. Are they Bengali? A friend’s son had some, ‘challenging’ is a word he often used!
So far I have dog walked, changed and made up the beds for DS, DDIL and DGCs who will be here lunchtime for a few days, topped up t bird feeders, cleaned the bathroom, kitchen and living room, put a load in the washing machine, perused soup recipes for lunch and I am pooped!
I need another coffee but cba to go out to the kitchen to make one 🙄, it’s currently very peaceful here.
I have a rather complimentary embroidery floor stand to assemble, I might ask DS to do it, he’s very technically minded!

No great plans. Some vinted stuff to post and more to put on, post Christmas clear out.
Currently watching homes under the hammer with coffee and pate on toast (Christmas diet still happening)
We need to change the beds and make sure the washing is finished before NYD.
We never do anything on NYE. DS is going to a friend's, so just me and DH. Baked Camembert and nibbles with a bottle of fizz with tv or music

Morning @lucysmam . I'm sat on the sofa listening to the wind and rain outside, its a horrible day. We are all going out for food later then a quiet night in.

Up early this morning as had to take my 16 year old boy cat to the vets as he is having surgery this morning to remove a mass on his neck. Just praying he gets through it all ok and the results from the mass come out as clear.

DD12 and I will pick him up this afternoon and DD is currently making a cozy recovery corner in our lounge for him and sorting out all of the treats we have for him for when he is feeling better!

We’ll have a quiet New Year in, just DD and I (just the way I like it) with lots of snacks, some fizzy pop, a Baileys for me and a cozy film.

Morning, the kids are out with my husband at the moment, they’re on a bike ride, its our daughters first trip on one those ‘bikes’ that attach to the back of another bike.

We’re off to a coastal lodge later today, so while they’ve been out I’ve packed everything we need and loaded it into the car. If the sky stays clear we’ll be able to see the city fireworks, so we’ll take one of the little boats out and watch them on the water.

Home with DH and kids - younger teens so they are planning to stay up to see midnight in. Will do a nice roast and some evening nibbles, and probably snuggle and watch TV until midnight, get DH to First Foot us with coal, coin and cake then turn in!

Good morning @lucysmam & everyone - another thank you for this thread @lucysmam. I look forward to it every weekend. Not much planned for today. If I can be bothered, I’ll pop into town to get a couple more links taken out of my watch strap. Lost so much weight & it’s really loose. Done the dishwasher & just need a few more clothes to make up a load. DD16 has stirred but we haven’t seen her as yet. Need her to help parcel up some bits for Vinted & something that’s sold on Facebook Marketplace. Bringing the bunnies in tonight because of the fireworks. We’re having sirloin steaks, chips, breaded garlic mushrooms & petitpois for tea. I already have a bottle of alcohol free fizz in the fridge & some AF wines are being delivered this afternoon. DH & I will probably watch a film before the London fireworks. DD may join us but is more likely to lurk in her room, texting her friends. Happy New Year 2025 to you all 🎈🎉🎇🎆💥🥂🍾

Having a slow start to the morning.
DH has taken DC2 out for a walk and DC1 is still asleep.
We are going to the cinema this afternoon, will stop at supermarket on way home for bread rolls.
I am doing party food for this evening and have got a nice bottle of fizz.
We may play a game later if anyone wants to or the DC may just do their own things.
Will see what's on the tv.
DC2 is very excited as this is the first year they are allowed to stay up until midnight

Just now having coffee. I'm the youngest person in this coffee shop by about 25 years and I'm nearly 54! Already done a bit of shopping in Morrison's - all from the reduced section so I've done well. I would have done even better if the fiver I was due had been deducted. The More Points system can be a bugger to navigate!

Not got much planned for the rest of the year. Pub this evening for a few then expect to be jolted awake by fireworks at midnight. Pah!

Good morning all. I have just dropped DS off at his mates as they are travelling to Bristol for NYE. DD is already away with her BF. DH and I have a table booked later this afternoon at a lovely little bistro where we will have some food. Will be in bed well before midnight as I am back in work tomorrow for a 13 hour shift which I am dreading!

I've been up an hour sat watching tv and having a coffee while snuggling with the dog.
About to temps teens out of bed with a bacon butty.
Then need to go visit dad and take him shopping.
Was meant to be going to a house party tonight but it's not happening now.
Just want a chilled day of TV snacks and a few drinks.

I am lying on the sofa waiting for the food shop to arrive.
DH is working in the office.
DC are playing chess and arguing about the rules because only one of them knows how to play 😁
After lunch DC and I are walking into town to get oldest a couple of new tops and something nice for tea.
May stop at the park on the way home if it's not too cold.
Then we will have a nice tea, play some board games, and watch a film with a hot chocolate.
May or may not last to see in the new year!

Good morning. Dh and I have been out for birthday cake and cards for the weekend for Ds2 who is turning 12. Also for medicine and a couple of errands locally. My sister is coming over later and then we have steak for dinner.

I'm. Just chilling with my tea and toast and a cat next to me right now. Ds2 has asked if we can play a game in a bit. I think it will probably be Minecraft.
