Sending flowers

Which company do you use to send flowers to people in the UK? There are many covering nationally.

My friend lives in Herts and I want to thank her by sending flowers.

I’ve used M&S in the past

muddyford · 31/12/2024 07:51

I use Scilly Flowers at this time of year. Gorgeous scented narcissi. But with the wind forecast they may not be dispatching for a day or two as the flowers come by sea to the mainland on the ferry Scillonian

I used Waitrose florist but they’ve stopped operating now. I sent 3 bunches via Bloom and Wild this Xmas which were all claimed to be nice and have had reasonably nice bouquets from them myself. Where possible though for people I regularly send flowers to I’ve located a florist local to them and order over phone.

Whatever you do don't use Next! Each time they've done it wrong. They use subcontractors and I've had flowers delivered to the wrong address, flowers just dumped by the door.

I've heard good things about M & S but my best experience was ringing a local (to my friends) independent florist who delivered within hours herself.

allmybooksarefromthelibrary · 31/12/2024 08:07

M&S or Bloom and Wild.

NigelHarmansNewWife · 31/12/2024 08:09

At this time of year many local florists won't be open and won't get fresh deliveries until the New Year. I've used Haute Florist many times, no issues. M&S are good, but their delivery partner has wrecked things more than once so I stopped using them.

Bloom and Wild are fabulous been using them for years and their flowers last for ages!!

CyclingAddict · 31/12/2024 08:12

My M&S roses are beautiful 💐

Thank you all for the leads. Will follow up.

Used M&S this week. They were good. Delivered next day and bouquet is as photographed on website.

I received these. The ones in a letterbox cardboard box. The stems were limp and were the first to die of several birthday bunches.

Monkeybutt1 · 31/12/2024 08:21

I used Bloom and Wild once for mother's day and they were awful, they cost £75 a bunch and both bunches sent had about 5 limp stems in. Never again. M&S are good

JollyHostess101 · 31/12/2024 08:32

Honestly I've received and sent loads of bloom and wild and never been disappointed and their letterbox gifts are convenient (if not a tad on the pricey side) if you've forgotten a birthday!!

Bloom and wild have been sent to me from various people and it’s been like getting dead flowers. They claim to come to life but really don’t. I’d say 5-6 times I’ve binned them.

Roselilly36 · 17/03/2025 08:17

M&S I think are the best, only used Bloom and Wild once, the person was disappointed initially as they arrive in bud, but they did look lovely once they opened. But if I am sending flowers, I want them to look beautiful when they arrive.

PedroThePanda · 17/03/2025 08:21

I always try and use local florists to support smaller businesses. Just google to find a florist near her and check reviews.

Cinnabarmotheaten · 17/03/2025 08:46

Second Scilly flowers gorgeous.
Have used M&S for decades always excellent, reliable and beautiful long lasting flowers with some lovely combinations of colour.
Don’t use bloom and wild as found underwhelming.

MyCraftyRubyHam · 05/12/2025 13:30

I’ve used Flower Delivery a few times for birthdays and last-minute thank you gifts, and they’ve always been reliable.

The flowers arrive looking fresh and last well over a week. I like that they offer next-day delivery even on weekends, and the packaging keeps everything from getting squashed.

You can usually find a discount code too which helps.

Buscobel · 05/12/2025 14:09

My Bloom and Wild ones lasted two weeks. Try didn’t look much to start with, but they soon perked up

Wonderknicks · 05/12/2025 14:12

I use Flowerbe if I don't want to send a big flashy bunch, they are little posies. I send the glass vase with them so it's probably the same price as a bunch but there's something rather nice about them

I do the exact same. I avoid the national type companies and use someone local to the recipient.

MrsZiggywinkle · 05/12/2025 14:15

Local independent florist. You will get better value for money.

Whereabouts in Hertfordshire are you?
