Day 3 of relentless pain that I can't get under control
Woke up at 5am with it and started painkillers so I could work. I'm maxed out on pain relief and I feel like someone is twisting all my ovary and womb
I'm exhausted Sad and there's absolutely nothing that can be done until I have an operation

Just wanted to moan really, I'm so so fucking fed up

Muddledbylifeadmin · 30/12/2024 23:06

Go to hospital

nc42025 · 30/12/2024 23:08

They can't do anything, I'm totally at the max of pain relief
Even if they relieve it for now, it just comes back and I'm in the same situation again 24hrs later

That sounds utterly crap, sorry. Do you have a date for surgery yet?

No, likely to be Feb or March but no date set

You poor thing. It's awful that you're in pain and no-one can help. Sending you some virtual hugs (gentle ones of course). I hope you get a date for surgery soon.

MumChp · 30/12/2024 23:22

I am sorry. I know how it feels. I hope tomorrow is a better day.

nc42025 · 30/12/2024 23:24

I just need it to ease so I can get some sleep and be able to work tomorrow

Hope you have sick pay entitlement to sack work tomorrow off OP. Unrelenting severe pain is horrendous. I live with this and know it's mind altering.

Hot water bottles can provide some relief even with hideous pain. I have to take opioids with my situation and hot water bottle still helps my shit show.

nc42025 · 30/12/2024 23:30

I can't take any time off as I'm also close to losing my job due to sickness
Got a heating pad on, I've had naproxen, paracetamol and oramorph

Can take more paracetamol and oramorph at 4am ish

Sending hugs, hope you get some sleep lovely xx

nc42025 · 31/12/2024 19:59

Day 4 now

It seems to have gone into a pattern of starting early evening and then continuing until the early hours
Which is fucking annoying as I can't relax, watch tv, exercise or eat anything

It was grumbling all day but kicked in properly an hour ago

What surgery are you waiting for?

nc42025 · 31/12/2024 20:06

fourelementary · 31/12/2024 20:03

What surgery are you waiting for?

Endometriomas to be removed off ovary (a 4cm one and a 9cm one), stage 4 deep infiltrating endometriosis to be excised, my ovaries to be detached as they're stuck together, endo adhesions to be excised off my rectum and a mirena fitted for adenomyosis

My right ovary is the 9cm cyst and that's what is flaring

fourelementary · 01/01/2025 00:35

@nc42025 Ouch sounds very painful. Thankyou for sharing though as I’m experiencing ongoing abdo pain and have a gynae referral and wondered… would a muscle relaxant help any? Heat deffo helps my pains- u wander about looking pregnant these days with a hot water bottle in my trousers… hope the pain eases for you somewhat… and your operation and relief comes soon.

When my daughter had an ovarian cyst that had twisted they said they would operate immediately.

When my daughter had an ovarian cyst that had twisted they said they would operate immediately.

They would but only for the cyst which doesn't solve the other issues... annoyingly my ovaries are actually stuck with scar tissue so they said unlikely to twist

It has been at a point where I've wanted to remove my own ovary!

Couple more months. Just trying to get through each 24hrs until then

OP I don't know how you are getting through, nobody should be left to try and cope with that much pain.
You're amazing, you really are.

nc42025 · 01/01/2025 17:35

Thank you. It's been niggling all day so just hoping tonight isn't as bad
No other option to cope but luckily it's fairly short term and I figure people have pain for much longer than this

OP posts:
nc42025 · 03/01/2025 06:02

Update that it got worse, I went to a&e and said I wasn't coping with the pain
They offered me paracetamol and basically said nothing they can do except refer me to gynae (who I am already under)

If I ring the gynae nurse she says if I can't cope with the pain to go to a&e!

Awake now as it's started again AngrySad

That sounds so hard OP. Is there no one at work you could talk to? You should not have to be working at the moment. It's ridiculous. I really hope your surgery comes through soon. It might be worth keep ringing and chasing up a surgery date. Explain your job situation as well. 💐

zebrazoop · 03/01/2025 06:14

I'm so sorry op that sounds rotten.
They can definitely give you stronger longer acting pain killers. Can somebody go to hospital with you to advocate for you ?

EliflurtleAndTheInfiniteMadness · 03/01/2025 06:32

I don't know if it would help with endometriosus pain, but I use ice packs to numb and take the edge of when I can't stand the pain anymore. Medication does nothing for me, at least not at the doses they'll prescribe to someone who's not dying. I know some people with chronic pain who find tens machines useful. If there's any nerve involvement you could ask your doctor if something like amitriptyline or gabapentin might help. They're both used for chronic pain. I'm on high dose of amitriptyline plus promethazine, doesn't help with the pain but it has a useful side effect of making me dozy enough I can still get some sleep. The promethazine is an OTC sedating antihistamine. They might not be able to do anything more for your pain, but maybe there's something that can help you sleep. I'm sorry you're going through this, it's horrible always being in so much pain.

Bubblebuttress · 03/01/2025 06:55

PM’d you

emergency gp or 111 and look at pain ladder

I can't afford not to be unfortunately as I'm single and don't have great sick pay

Heat definitely helps, but only at burning hot temps so I am cautious with it!
Tried amitrip but after 8 weeks I was still so sedated I couldn't function
That was more for the bladder pain

This is weird, it's like someone is gnawing at my ovary but also side pain and to the right hand side of my belly button too
