When I send an email I want it to go into my sent box so I know I've sent it. Google won't help. Can you please?

One is an gmail account and the other is Hotmail

Gmail is does it automatically

So does hotmail

But it isn't happening for me. I think I turned it off a while ago and now I need it back on.

I've just looked and it is doing it for some but not others.

If you delete the email that you're replying to your sent email will also be deleted.

You could always copy yourself into the email and then if you receive it you know you've sent it. I used to do this at work so I didn't have to to go through my sent email box and I just filed it where I needed to.

It's not deleted emails. I email two people often and it is always their emails I need to check I've sent and one sometimes shows in sent but not always and the other never does. I tried sending to myself but that didn't last long as kept forgetting <memory issues> hence this post...

They’ll be going into the sent box, you can’t turn it off. Therefore the issue must be that you’re looking in the wrong place. Are you using a mobile app, or a desktop pc?

Are you accidentally touching the 'undo send' button?

Whether in my phone or on my iPad they are not in my sent box.

Not clicking unsend. I know it's gone if I get a reply but I sometimes need to check before I get a reply and sometimes I don't get one so can't see it then.

Now I'm completely befuddled. I just messed about with my phone, not sure what I did but they are now in my sent box in my phone but not on my iPad. So now I need to try and do the same on my iPad. It's so hard to fix what is wrong when you don't know why it's wrong then also, how to do stuff when I don't know how to.

I use protonmail.
Far more secure and it’s free and it’s super convenient and organized.
And it lists all the emails I’ve sent, of course.
Never any security issues. Ever.
And it was pretty painless to switch over.

I wonder if it's something to do with conversation view, which automatically groups a chain of emails together.

bcc yourself. Irritating to have to remember, but it's a lot safer than assuming you'll be able to find it.

Every day I email someone and there will be 5-12 emails approximately. If I send the first one I only know I've sent it when I get a reply. There's no sent emails to them in my iPad sent box yet there is one I sent using my Hotmail account last week

Won't that only work if I sent the first email though? I just tried to do it and as there have been a few today it won't let me.

Did you have your settings on "focussed sent box" or "collapse messages" or "sort by conversation"? If any of these, it groups strings of messages in together, so they are not separately visible (but are visible within threads of conversations. You can turn this off.

Is it going straight into a subfolder you previously set up?

I don't have collapsed messages set @PicturePlace and I don't have a sub folder @Iizzyb . I'll have to ask my son. Hopefully he'll know, teenagers seem to just know this stuff! Thanks all.

Have you got your sent items mailbox ordered by date? Maybe you have clicked the subject or to column and they ordered in that way which means the most recent sent item isn't showing at the top?

Copy yourself into emails when you send them, and then you will receive the copy in your inbox. You can do it as a blind copy if you don't want the receipient to see what you're doing.

Check on your laptop if you havs one. It might be that your phone is low on memory and it's not syncing properly. Try deleting wassap videos that you don't need etc and delete your recycle bin for images
Uninstall lots of apps that you don't really use. See if that helps

What's the setting get them all individually? By date?

They are ordered by date so show the last one I sent from my win account on the 19th. It seems mostly to be my gmail account that isn't showing them.

I keep on top of all that anyway and it is my iPad I can't get it to work, is showing on my phone already.
