I'm just enjoying my first brew of the day, in complete silence, before dd2 wakes up.

Today's her 15th birthday 🥳 & she's very excited to open one of her presents. It's a fancy handbag, very similar to my Radley one.

She's having a sleepover with one of her best friends who's walking up around mid day, and we're probably getting Chinese takeaway for tea.

Dd1 has homework to be done so will probably do some of that.

I really need to crack on with a few bits for work, so I'll make a start on those while the girls are busy. I might even squeeze in some crochet!

What about all of you? 🙂

Hanukkah party this afternoon with DD's little cousins. Just a few games and some food - just an excuse to get together and eat some more 🕎.
I love these threads because it gives me hope of more relaxing weekends once DD 2.5 gets a bit bigger 😂.

I have 4 hours left of my audio book. So will listen to that while sprucing g the house a little and completing my jigsaw puzzle.

Have messaged a few friends to see if anyone is available later on for a chat or hobbies so will see it that produces anything. If not I might blue cook for the arrival of more family tomorrow.

Had a lie on until 8am feel like a new woman , have a child with ASD so sleep is a rare commodity. Got up let the Hens out think even they appreciated the lie in,sorted the other animals and am now having a rare 5 mins on the sofa, think I may have tidy round today keep the fairy lights up and light the candles so it still feels Christmassy but a little reset, love this thread it keeps my sanity sometimes.

I’m going home tomorrow for ten days, so doing my suitcase this morning.

Morning @lucysmam and others! Just having breakfast and a cuppa at the moment. DH and DD are building her Lego. The playroom needs a sort after Christmas and so does DD’s wardrobe so I’m going to do that this morning before hopefully a walk.
Warn sausage rolls and Wizard of Oz with Grandma this afternoon.
We are out for dinner and drinks with friends tonight.

Christmas catch up with 2 of my young adult DSC (the other is in Japan) and my dad. So this morning a run, nice hot bath, brunch and then they are heading here around lunch time, we will do a few presents, then walk to the pub for a late afternoon lunch. I'm looking forward to seeing them all and having a nice day but am also pleased this is the last day of socializing for a while as my social battery has run low and am looking forward to a few quiet days with just DH and DD.

We are dropping teens at a friend's house so they can go and piss their Christmas money up the walll, I mean buy more Warhammer armies they won't paint! Or they will paint when they should be revising.

So I am going into battle with the laundry basket!

And then not being impressed with tiny plastic unpainted army figures!

I’m in bed currently enjoying a cup of tea before getting up and doing a small food shop followed by a tidy round the house.

Tonight I’m going to see six the musical with my 16 year old daughter.

I’ve been bed ridden since Christmas Day with bronchitis but thank god the antibiotics are starting to work so I can actually make it out today. Just gonna do everything nice and slow.

First tea of the day, food delivery coming soon then will do a dog walk with a friend and her dog before lunch. Dd (13) will probably sleep until 11 as she has been up late reading. Film night at a friend's house later.

My Christmas tree is giving me the ick now and I want to clean so all the decorations are going back up in the attic.

I've got Royal Mail collecting two parcels from me at some point so I have to stay in until then but after that I'll probably go for a walk with the dog and baby.

Very very chilled day today getting things in order. We're off out tomorrow afternoon so trying to get things done now.

I'm at work till 5pm but it's not all bad, I'm supporting adults with LD to the cinema!

Morning! Woke up just before 9, which is a huuuuge lie-in.
Am on the sofa with my first coffee. DD’s munching toast in her bedroom and DP’s pacing aimlessly.
I need a shower and to wrap a couple of presents, then when DD’s carers get here I’m off out for lunch in town with a friend. Really looking forward to it. I just hope we don’t get booted out of the restaurant after an hour like at the place where we met last time, which was turning tables at an insane rate!
While I’m doing that, DP has wild plans for a trip to the model railway shop 🤣.

Dh is still in bed he’s got a chest infection

I’m having a pyjama day today just pottering around the house doing a few chores
Going to make a cooked breakfast once everyone’s up
No plans for tonight other than eat cheese and drink wine

Morning! Me and DH are having coffee and biccies in bed relishing the quiet. We had my elderly mum over from Xmas Eve until Boxing Day and then took her to my brother’s where we stayed overnight and drove her back yesterday. We had a fun time but like being back in our own bed and having the house to ourselves.

We need to sort our back bedroom out, put the blowup bed and spare bedding back in the loft room and have a tidy round generally, and then we’re off to friends for dinner.

Well I have just had porridge, banana , cup of tea and a chocolate pudding sweet 🫣

washing machine is on .

ds is at his paper round , dd is in bed but she is working this afternoon too . Hubby is at work until 8

we have just got home last night from Christmas at mums - we left at 8 am Christmas morning so everything in the house seems chaotic and needs a good tidy

however, I just want to chill out and not talk to anyone today!

Little bit of tidying, telly watching, a few steps and a hair wash is today’s plan !

We are taking the decs down. Which is really not my style to do it this early. But we are going on a break away Monday until Friday for New Years. The place we are staying will still be decorated so we will still enjoy a tree and fairy lights in the evening. The thought of coming back and doing washing, food shop and turning the house around in the last weekend before back to work feels too much.
Will also fit in going to see some family for a couple of rounds of tea and a dog walk.

Good morning. I have just had a coffee. I was working yesterday so today will be relaxing and then meeting some friends in the evening.

A bit of a tidy round as we have friends over for drinks tonight, a small food shop for fresh stuff and beers

Pre Christmas visitors I did a big declutter, yay! But stuffed it all in the car boo!

Need car tomorrow so task is to go to the tip/charity shop (although lots locally don't seem to be taking donations probably as they can't sell Primark tops priced at £15)

I'm still in bed.
I should be downstairs showing my face but I'm at my in laws house and it's painfully awkward and I'm really trying, but it just doesn't work no matter what.
I wish it were different but it's not and I just want to go home really but will have to nod and smile for another day.
Sorry to share but I don't want to burden DH or the kids with it and I'm going mad.
I work so hard and these few days off at Xmas are so precious. They feel wasted in the company of people I can't be myself with and who don't really want me here but would never admit that.
I'll be going back to work after this 'time off' needing a holiday from my holiday. 😭

Am having major fatigue symptoms. I don't know if it is a bug or if it is burnout. I dashed up early thinking I needed to walk the dog but crashed brushing my teeth so DH has walked dog, which he always does. We have to do it early before the shooting starts.

Just sitting listening to Radio 4. Husband has cracked open a panetone so may get some of that. Just feel shattered. Driving up to my mothers on Monday for NY. Husband staying at home with terrified dog (fireworks) so I need to be ok for that.
Fed up of fatigue.

I am still in bed! I did get up to put a wash on but then returned to bed to doom scroll for a bit. Will be getting up shortly to take the kids swimming though, and then this afternoon we are going to watch Sonic 3 at the cinema and go to Pizza Express for tea.

I am dying to get the decs down now but my dad and his wife are visiting tomorrow for a Christmas get together so they need to stay up a little longer.
