I'm just enjoying my first brew of the day, in complete silence, before dd2 wakes up.

Today's her 15th birthday 🥳 & she's very excited to open one of her presents. It's a fancy handbag, very similar to my Radley one.

She's having a sleepover with one of her best friends who's walking up around mid day, and we're probably getting Chinese takeaway for tea.

Dd1 has homework to be done so will probably do some of that.

I really need to crack on with a few bits for work, so I'll make a start on those while the girls are busy. I might even squeeze in some crochet!

Good morning, my husbands little brother is coming over today and staying for a few days, when we’ve picked him up I’m taking our daughter to softplay and everyone else is going to the paradox museum. I’m not sure what we’ll do after that, the weathers better today so the boys will probably want to go to the park.

In bed with a coffee and chocolate éclair!

I have a much needed spa session booked then will go for a long walk and then some housework. DC will return from their dad's this evening.

Good morning @lucysmam & everyone. In bed with a cuppa made by DH. He’s up as he’s working later on but only for a couple of hours. I’m feeling generally achey so have just taken some painkillers. Not much planned for today. Envious of folks going for dinner with friends as we’re rarely invited anywhere - I have some really good friends but nobody seems to entertain anymore, plus they are more my friends than DH’s. Need to remedy this in 2025! DD16 is having a friend round for a sleepover & she’s just arrived, which I wasn’t expecting. They’ll probably go out for a bit. DH is making a creamy turkey pasta dish for tea but not sure if the girls will have any. Going to try to go for a walk later - looks like it might actually be sunny ☀️ Happy Birthday to your DD @lucysmam 🎈🎉🎂

Good morning Lucysmam and others. I've had two coffees and a slice of toast and an ready to face the day. Happy birthday to your Dd. It will be a lazy day for me until evening when I'm going to a friend's house for a gathering of former colleagues. I'm not looking forward to it but it'll be fine. Enjoy your day

Good morning @lucysmam and everyone. How were your Christmasses? Good I hope.

I didn't wake up until 7.40 this morning which was lovely and DH actually woke up half an hour later. However I didn't get home from hospital until 11.30 last night so we were both knackered.

We were meant to be hosting my local daughter and her family to lunch yesterday and I had everything all prepared, it was going to be the traditional (for us) Boxing Day (a day late) meal of home cooked ham and turkey, salad and baked potatoes, with leftover pigs in blankets, stuffing etc. followed by vanilla ice cream, meringue and a home made strawberry compote. We went out for our Christmas Day meal so the ham and turkey, stuffing and pigs in blankets had all been cooked fresh on the 26th. Instead I ended up going to the ED and staying there all day! I was lucky enough to be 'admitted' to the Hospital at Home ward and allowed to go home last night. So I have some wearable technology which means they can monitor my heart rate etc. and I will be getting daily phone calls to see how I am.

I am still unwell this morning, so I'm going to be taking today very easy. I think DH will be taking a package of food to my daughter today - all the yummy things they would have had yesterday, less some for us of course! I didn't eat between 9am and 7pm yesterday because there was some discussion as to whether I should be cardioverted, so I'm looking forward to a nice meal today.

Morning! I didn’t sleep brilliantly and DS woke up earlier than usual, so I’m pretty groggy. I just had a coffee and hot shower which has helped. We’re heading out shortly to the cinema and will get some lunch while we’re out as well. Then we’ll grab something nice for dinner at the supermarket on the way home. I’m looking forward to chilling in front of the tv this evening.

I'm doing Christmas dinner as I had food poisoning just before the big day! 😂

Taking DS (10) to get his glasses at 11 and my mum is coming over about 1:30. Other than that I need to do some laundry and want to do a couple of hours studying.

yoshiblue how awful! Do you know what caused it? Hope you enjoy your belated Christmas dinner.

I am laying in bed. We have the house to ourselves. Absolute bliss. Planning a very hot bath.
Sorting out clothes that are too big for me is the only thing I have on my list for today!

We are off swimming this morning we have a membership so really need to go more to make the most of it. I always feel so good after swimming 🙂

Home for a late lunch then just pottering this afternoon and a bit of a tidy and declutter. Want to list some things on vinted etc.

Pie mash and carrots for dinner still working out way through the Christmas food, then the new series of casualty tonight with a glass of wine.

On our way to a cottage on the west coast of Scotland to spend the next week there. Should be there just after lunch, some shopping for the week, take away tonight and a nice bottle of wine. DD (18) with us too as she's back from uni, which is lovely.

My DD is having time with Grandma today whilst I veg on the sofa watching re runs of Gavin and Stacey and snoozing haven't been well at all and my in laws have agreed to have her for a few hours for me.
My DH will potter round at home doing a few odds and ends. Our cleaning lady was in yesterday so the house feels lovely and calm.

I’ve been productive this morning, has my Asda shop delivered and stuck on a slow cooker spag bol, it’ll be ready in 8 hours.

My eldest DS is heading down with his girlfriend for New Year, so looking forward to seeing them. I’ve got all boys and I hadn’t realised how much having another female in the house changed the dynamics, it’s bloody lovely 🥰

Morning @lucysmam hope your Christmas was lovely. We're off to the sales with Christmas gift cards, will probably get a Christmas Costa if they're still on. Might get a couple of new tops for myself if I see anything.

Will walk the dog this afternoon, then I've got mince out of the freezer as I fancy a normal meal. Not sure whether to do lasagne, chilli or Shepard's pie.

Happy Birthday to dd2🎂. I’m in France and have just been out for coffee and patisserie and now need to lie down!

My dd’s are still in bed but I’ll take them out later to Sephora where I’m sure they’ll find plenty to spend their Christmas money on

Back at work boo hoo.

Morning everyone. I'm going to ds football tournament this afternoon and then to my mums for our Italian Xmas day. We do English on the 25th and then an Italian one a few days later. I really look forward to it and I'm not eating all day in preparation for it!

I currently drinking coffee with a dog in me waiting for some pain killers to kick in as I woke up with a bad back.

Fairly lazy morning, have had a shower and sorted washing while the kids played. Once DS is up from his nap I’m going to take them to the seafront for a walk and some fish and chips - debating whether we are brave enough to eat them outside in the cold or want to sit in the restaurant! Then I’ve promised DD we can go through the car wash on the way home.

DH is at work 2-9 so I’m making peanut butter noodles for tea and will probably settle down with some wine and my book club book once the kids are in bed.

I’m really loving all this time off with the kids- I started a new job in September and I feel like the past 3 months have been all go go go, it’s nice to be able to breathe a bit!

I’ve walked the dog and been to the gym, and just had a huge breakfast of chicken and bubble and squeak.

DD(11) is with her dad til tomorrow, but she wants to come round and ‘help’ me eat some Christmas leftovers 🤣 Will prob make chicken noodle soup (we had chicken, never bother with turkey).

I feel like going for a few drinks tonight but everyone is either away or ill so I may be reduced to a sauv blanc on the sofa.

Good morning everyone, at last the fog’s actually lifted has lifted here! DDog and I joined our neighbours for a dog walk this morning, muddy but I do love being outside first thing.
I have cleaned the bedrooms and bathroom, then who knows kitchen and living room are tidy and I’m sitting browsing MN. The second load of washing is on, two more loads to do.
DHcan finish off the remains of the Christmas roast for dinner, I’m having a pice of plaice with new potatoes and salad I think.
I will walk the dog again later but first I want to read my new book (Kew book of embroidery) and do some more embroidery. A peaceful afternoon ahead 😊

I've been up and mucked out the pony, tried 2 new rugs on him and pissed him right off. Home now and panicking... 2 BIG new arrivals tomorrow and I'm having a bit of a meltdown and wondering what the hell I've let myself in for. Sure it will be fine but having a bit of a wobble today.

Need to de-Christmas the house today, collect DD from the yard, think we're having gammon for tea with something and will then watch Casualty and get to bed. And panic some more!
