We’ve had a lovely few days hosting family since December 21st. Really enjoyable Christmas and it’s been lovely seeing everyone, but they’ve gone home now. I’m back to work on Monday so today is my only real day “off”.

My plans for today are to spend as much time on my arse as possible, and make a decent dent in the wine and chocolate I received.

That was our plan too but I’ve woken up feeling nauseous with a headache so I’m currently busying myself finding homes for Christmas gifts to take my mind of it and I’m going out for a walk to get some fresh air when I’ve done. I was also looking forward to getting back to normal food wise (dieting for holiday so need to get back on track), but I don’t want to eat in case I’m sick 🤢 so I’m currently starving too. Ooh that was a bit of a moan wasn’t it 😂

I’m with you OP! Mine have all cleared off this morning, DH is out all day. I’ve showered and changed into new pyjamas. I am absolutely goosed, and will be spending the day prone on the sofa catching up on TV, eating cheese and may crack open a bottle of white.

I am putting my guest on the train at 5:30 tonight then I’ll be right there with you.

iv enjoyed having him and he has been no problem but I’m done now I just want a day with no bra on and no social energy being used!

this is no reflection on anyone else and completely a reflection on how I am built as a person!

I love having my family over (Christmas Day) and them plus extended family (Boxing Day), but by late afternoon yesterday, I was dead on my feet. They left at 7pm and I only managed to stay awake for another couple of hours.

I normally only get six hours of broken sleep a night (the joys of getting older). Last night I slept for ten hours straight through. And didn't get up until 11am. I've got up from my sofa to eat some left overs, but that's it.

I'm getting too old for it all, clearly.

We entertained on both Christmas Day and Boxing Day, so we’ve just washed and packed away all the Christmas china and taken the extra leaf out of the dining table so it’s back to normal. Once I have finished eating the enormous plate of leftovers now in front of me, I shall be diving back onto the sofa and scarfing as many treats down me as I can, possibly with a break to get up for Chocolate log and cream a bit later on. Then cheese. Then more cheese. Etcetera.

I'm working today but I've just spoken to DH who asked what our plans are for this evening (!). Christmas has been bloody lovely, but busy, so I carefully explained that dinner would be whatever we can throw together from the random, assorted left overs and that I fully intend to lie on the sofa all evening and catch up on some Christmas TV.

Yep, sofa day here. We had a walk on the beach this morning just to blow the cobwebs away, now DH is on one sofa with a new book and I'm on the other with MN!

DH is sorting dinner, so my only activity between now and bedtime will be sourcing yet more snacks....

MIL has gone home and DP is staying with her tonight as he's seeing friends in his hometown (100 miles away)
DD9 and I are currently on the sofa doing not very much except eat Christmas chocolate.

I’d love to but, 22 years ago today, I stupidly gave birth and so DDs birthday means it’s another round of cooking (another roast - she always asks for a roast 😂 - she’d eat it every day if she could) and entertaining. Not so bad as DH is on spud/sous duty and DD2 is making the Tiramisu. Can’t even rest tomorrow, going to London for a matinee (it’s a loooong way from here). Roll on Sunday is all I can say, because then it’s back to work, then NY followed swiftly by DD1’s 21st and another round of cooking on Thursday! 🤦‍♀️

Last guest left at 11am, downstairs has been put straight, dinner service and decent glasses washed and put away, leftovers meal #1 has been consumed.
Currently watching crap tv with a coffee before taking DD to her pony for the afternoon. We’ll be back before dark, get showered and into comfies before dinner (bubble and squeak anyone?) I’ll probably be asleep by 8pm!
I absolutely love hosting both days but it’s so nice when everyone has gone and we can get back to normal

I'm blissfully sat on my ever expanding arse, under a duvet, contemplating which of my selection box bars to have for lunch and faffing about on the Internet. DH out for a couple of hours, I've muted my phone and I'm relishing the first quiet, no guest day since this time last week. Might even venture into the kitchen and see what alcohol is open 🤣

I've been doing this all week. It's been a year, l need the rest.

Guests have gone, I’m under an electric blanket watching Wolf Hall and eating biscuits. I’m planning a nap. Will walk the dogs later. That’s the sum total of today’s itinerary.

I'd happily join you, but I've a bit of driving to do. I've to collect DD from work at 3.30 and then drop her to her Granny's house at some point this evening. Ex's Mam is having the family up for a celebration. I'll just drop DD off though - I won't stay. Once I'm home, I'm getting straight into my pyjamas and dressing gown and I won't move off the sofa until bedtime.

Well I have dropped DD at the train as she's off to a sleepover (she just texted she's arrived - over two hours to get across London) and I then walked the dog. Goal today was to put all the Christmas china away (still some to wash as needs to be done by hand and yesterday had a four hour round trip drive dropping son off). And do my taxes.
Instead I've been sat in this chair scrolling on here. If I don't do my taxes this weekend though I'm in big trouble with my accountant (I already am as she asked for them in October and I usually do it then).

I've had to pop to the supermarket but am now in my pyjamas on the sofa.

Dh booked the day off and I wish he'd gone to work because he's starting to irritate me.

Christmas was fab but I'm ready for normality now and never want to see another Pringle or chocolate.

Ahh this was me yesterday - barely moved off the sofa and ate and drank my body weight in chocolate and Prosecco.

Unfortunately today at work 😱

The couch will make a change from my bed. Been sick since Xmas eve. First day I ate anything so a mini Xmas dinner for me . Can't really watch TV as I keep falling asleep and missing most of the plot.

Today is the first day I haven’t had to do anything since the 16th! I’m in bed watching the rest of Virgin River… just ate a whole bag of Tyrell’s crisps and 4 Ferreros 🎉

I had to walk the dog this morning and I've had loads of laundry to do, but now I'm binge-watching Below Deck and eating a lot of popcorn.
