My only plan for today is to not move from the sofa. Anyone care to join me?

We’ve had a lovely few days hosting family since December 21st. Really enjoyable Christmas and it’s been lovely seeing everyone, but they’ve gone home now. I’m back to work on Monday so today is my only real day “off”.

My plans for today are to spend as much time on my arse as possible, and make a decent dent in the wine and chocolate I received.

I was dog sitting from10.30 till 1. Then made burgers for lunch. Watched Gavin and Stacey and then Outnumbered, now Carry on LOving. Other half has just finished off the chicken leftovers and is on the After Eights and Ferrero Rocher.

Dog walk done. No more hosting - three days done! . There is a pile of washing up and laundry but both can wait! Plan is gaming, movies, snacking and limited movement!

I’ve been on the couch all day. We went out last night and are a bit worse for wear today. I’m cosy here with a lovely new blanket ds’s gf bought me and I’m watching stuff on Netflix that have been in my list for ages. Haven’t had a minute since the 20th so this is heaven!

I needed to get out today after three glorious days with the teens in my face. Been to a couple of shops and now I'm back they're reading in bed. So firmly on my arse until tea I shall be!

After two busy days I've done nothing today but snuggle up on the sofa occasionally surfacing for various leftovers!

I whisked DS out for a few hours for a big walk and run around, which I thoroughly enjoyed as the fresh air and exercise felt great. But now I’m back on the sofa in front of the fire enjoying a beer. It’s been years since I had this long of a break from work and it’s absolute bliss.

I think we’ll open some wine shortly and probably eat more cheese for dinner. I keep thinking I’ve had enough but this time is so short lived and I’m making the most of it.

I have woken up feeling achey and coldy , my husband was ill all over Christmas. Feeling a bit fed up. Sending get well wishes to all who were ill over Christmas.

Finishing off the last of the cheese and pate on the sofa. In PJs. Decent pinot to accompany.

Currently watching pitch perfect 3 with DD... We started on pitch perfect 1 at 10am. 😁

It's that kind of day.

I’ve had a busy morning with cleaning out chickens and tidying inside and out. But this afternoon we have a fire lit, the grinch on tv and on the sofa making up a Lego set with dc3 who is 6. We have chocolates and tea. Not moving until bed time other than to make bacon rolls later.

Dad left this morning. I hosted each day since Christmas Eve and had 12 for Christmas lunch.

not seen DP since Tuesday. We have large families and never spent Christa’s together due ti work and families. We do new years. Today was the day we were going to watch crap tv together and eat Christmas food. Both woke up in our own homes feeling terrible.

Had to go to the in laws. Sat in their cold, dirty house. I do mean dirty. Clumps of pet hair around, dust and accumulated dirt. Always been like this but not been here for a couple of years and it's no better. Sat with my coat on and one of the dogs has just pissed on the floor. Old dog. No heating on and I'm thinking about MN and the competitive cold house thread. Luckily we brought extra clothes jic the heat situation arose.

First weekend since middle of November we havent had something on. Have very much had a chilled day today, played with LO’s new toys and we’ve watched films and read books together. Hes been good as gold after a busy few days.

I’ve done same apart from when district nurse came popped upstairs to get dressing changed. Dog had a vets appointment and I was somewhat amused by husbands face when I told him no I wasn’t going with them (he made the appt) and could he pick up a prescription for me while he was out - been watching squid games and eating biscuits and drinking shloer mainly and it’s been lovely

Other than dropping the car for its service, I’ve done sweet FA today. It’s been lovely. Binged The Penguin and Call the Midwife. Eaten cheese and mince pies. Napped. Just setting down to The Hunt for Red October.

Tomorrow I’ll be back to housework and decorating.

Catching up on Call The Midwife, electric throw is toasty, enjoying M & S Swiss truffles. Last two days have been entertaining adult DC with lots of cooking.

Delighted to hear that so many others are having restful days.

Currently three episodes into new series of Squid Game and this is the situation on my lap so you’ll agree that even if I wanted to move, I simply couldn’t.

I will be doing the same shortly and for the rest of the weekend unless i have to run out to get food, otherwise i'm not moving.

This is where I imagine being rushed to A&E (unlikely since I’ve barely moved off the sofa) and being asked ‘what have you had to eat today?’

so far - two cheese and pickle toasties, a lot of M&S mini bites and a packet of pork scratchings 😋not sure what to have for dinner 😃

Been saving Wolf Hall for these dark, bleak days before the New Year so that’s next. With a glass of ginger wine.

Me too but 20 years ago DS popped into the world 3 weeks early!

I am doing it tomorrow. Was working Xmas day 13 hour shift, had family for Boxing Day and DS birthday today. DM has gone back home, DD is on a train to see her BF and DS is doing his own thing. The sofa and remote are calling my name!

I have realised while there is nice food in the house like cheese and panettone etc there is nothing much to make “normal” meals in the house and used the last of the bread today so as much as it interrupts my careful plans I think I’m going to go and do a small shop tomorrow. I might even go into m&s and see if there are nice things reduced. If not there is a Morrisons near it so I’ll still be able to get some groceries.

then immediately back into pyjamas before I have to think about work again.
