Anyone watching Virgin River

I loved it when it came out and now feel invested and I have to finish this series .. but omg 😳 😂😂 it’s bad (but ideal for this morning with a mug of tea while my one’s sleep)

I started watching it two summers ago and thought it was a lovely relaxing watch. Then I realised it was actually just crap so I stopped.

Now I have an 8 month old baby and I'm really loving the crap scenic vibes so I'm watching Season 6 now (on episode 4). It's real turn your brain off stuff and I like putting it on with a mug of coffee while the baby naps.

Ah yes it’s ideal for just a brain numbing experience 😂

enjoy the baby cuddles - my kids are lanky tea drinking kids now (still give great hugs though)

I really enjoyed the first couple of seasons. But once I realised how little time has passed in the show it made it hard to enjoy.
@Deathraystare are the books paces over years rather than months

I enjoyed it. I liked that one of the seasons jumped forward a bit opposed to every episode being a new day lol. X

I bloody love it. It’s absolutely terrible. I’m convinced Mel and Jack are going to burn down that cabin with all those candles. They must spend hours lighting and extinguishing them!

It's absolutely cringeworthy. I liked the first series but the slow dance Jack gave Mel before they had sex in the latest series has turned me celibate for life.

I used to love it but only watched 4 episodes so far in season 6 and not currently inclined to watch number 5 - am sure I will finish the season but not devouring it the way I once did.

This season is shit. They’ve run out of ideas for a plot. Too many sexy scenes as well: I’m fast forwarding through them!

Anything that can go wrong, does. I’m bored now.

Oh yeah the sexy scenes..sorry I don't feel the chemistry between them two at all. I was cringing at those scenes felt so awkward and weird

I don't know what's bad about it? I love virgin river! And think it's well acted and produced....has a film-esque feel about it like those American dramas often do which I really like.
Currently just finished episode 4 of new season!

The hair was dreadful - if I had been Mel I would have turned around.

This season has been so bad compared to the others.

Season 1 was really good. Lots of action, cliff hangers at the end of each episode. But I agree it has gone awful and it is sooooo slow. Nothing has barely happened this season but I've not finished it yet. Also Jack makes me feel sick these days and I just couldn't bring myself to watch his strip tease. I'm only hanging on for Brady. Give me more of Brady on that pool table, I can just dream it's me and not Bree ❤️

That striptease was 🤢🤢 Every sex scene with Mel and Jack was though.

I've even gone off Preacher. Like you Brady is still number 1.

It's a bit like with How to Get away with Murder, started off as a decent enough series with some sort of structure and turned more and more into a soap with increasingly daft and/or predictable storylines

Agree that it isn't as good now as earlier seasons . Timelines are annoying - Jack's ex seemed to be pregnant with the twins forever .

There is a lot of over acting in it , Jack , Mel, Bree and Preacher to name a few .
I think with any series of this type, the storylines become so unbelievable as with a small town / cast it becomes a bit ridiculous when so many things happen . In that way it has become quite soap like rather than a drama .
Scenery still looks amazing and I like some of the characters - the Dr & the mayor . Most annoying character has to be the mayor's assistant ( who is pregnant and with the Drs grandson ) . She simpers her way through each episode .Actually her and Bree seem to have gone to the same simpering school of acting Grin.

Was quite excited to see season 6 had started , but it is one of those programmes where I am now half watching and on my phone at the same time .

Certainly easy watching and you don't have to rewind constantly to check re a plot twist etc .

Hart of Dixie was much better. I watched than and thought I’d try virgin river but it’s not for me.

it seems very disjointed and I can’t keep track, but at the same time it’s very slow.
