What is it about cheese

Why do we love it so much, is there a scientific reason?

Tons of threads about cheese, tons of cheese in the fridge (at the moment), but why is it so great?

I view it as a superfood

And fat. But salt AND fat is basically the best thing ever

But we don't have slabs of seal in our fridges. I would have thought a bit of harbour seal or walrus would be equally as fatty and salty.

Cheese is a super good! It is full of goodness such as calcium, protein, vitamins A, D and K and also zinc. Cheese also has antiinflammatory and antioxidant properties. Plus the salt and fat make it deeply satisfying to eat.

Wallace and Gromit like cheese and that is good enough for me.

Noooo.
But slabs of bacon are pretty popular in my house! And butter. Which is salty fat. Unless you buy unsalted which is a travesty.

I feel walrus might be a bit fishy for some reason. Also Cheddar keeps better.
And most processed foods have copious amounts of both. Like crisps. Or pizza, or most ready meals I suspect

How big are peoples fridges for all this cheese?

A shout out for cambozola and dolcelatte

Also not heard a lot of love for burrata

Not in the fridge! Mine lives in a box in the garage, cheese is ideally served at room temperature, so fridge cold is too cold imo
