... and none of your expected guests would be coming but you also weren't able to travel to anywhere you were expecting to go:

How long would the people currently in your house be able to survive with the supplies you currently have in the house?

I reckon we have enough cheese to last a fair while at least!

Food for perhaps 3 months.
Red wine about a week. Time to try all the bottles of booze I've brought back from holidays

Wouldn't matter, would never comply with with lockdown again.

Yep. I didn't comply with the first one either.

HPandthelastwish · 23/12/2024 15:27

My parents live 11 doors away, we complied for 6 weeks last time but it was just me and DD, after that we made the decision that if any of us actually got sick we wouldn't be staying away for love nor money anyway, so started to bubble before bubbling was a thing, we spent time in the gardens to begin with as the weather was so nice and my DMum and DBro were working at a supermarket anyway. None of us had preexisting health conditions. To this day DParents and DBro haven't had COVID, I had it once and DD twice although her first time was fairly rough.

So I wouldn't lockdown, I would still see my parents and brother. I wouldn't travel outside of the area. I would take as many nice long walks on our deserted beach as I liked. But food wise we've got enough for a week.

addictedtotheflats · 23/12/2024 15:29

Not long, going my mums for Christmas so no food shopping here

Right but lockdown was the stuff of nightmares for a lot of people so it's not fun

So leave the thread then.

Lemonade2011 · 23/12/2024 15:34

The way my 3 lads seem to eat prob about 2/3 days would have to seriously ration what we have. But plenty in otherwise 😁

Crikeyalmighty · 23/12/2024 15:38

Maybe 3 weeks

x2boys · 23/12/2024 15:40

Silverfoxlady · 23/12/2024 14:53

Teenagers would eat everything in a couple of hours. We would all starve.

Same .

gmgnts · 23/12/2024 15:41

Three months - but we live rurally in a remote spot, so we're always well-stocked for emergencies. Plenty of wine and prosecco, too!

ScottBakula · 23/12/2024 15:44

BitOutOfPractice · 23/12/2024 13:18

There’s eggs in advocat right? So sling with the cheese and chocolate that’s dairy covered…

Of course there is , there is also grapes in wine and cherries in cherry brandy so that part of our 5 a day sorted ( hic 🤪)

Cerialkiller · 23/12/2024 15:50

I'm in the middle of making tart au Citroen, chocolate rulard and pear tart tatin for Christmas desserts. Also just finished a large batch of candied nut and lemon curd.

Just realised I planned to make the pigs in blankets, we probably have a 50 sausages and equivalent bacon in the freezer.

So we'd eat like kings for the first 10 days.

Then it might get a bit more basic, resorting to the frozen crossants I bought Christmas day breakfast and the boxing day blue cheese and port salut. Slummin it with the samosas I bought for emergency back up food.

ScarlettSunset · 23/12/2024 15:55

Probably a couple of weeks, maybe a bit longer. It would be by mostly eating biscuits though

Rocknrollstar · 23/12/2024 16:08

We are away and definitely have enough food for a week. If we were at home we could survive for about 6 weeks if we were careful.

Tarte au citron, surely? Or is tarte au Citroen a bit like Baldrick's rat au van? Wink 🚗

Ak732087D · 23/12/2024 16:20

I’d recommend making the food last as long as possible …. I worked in a supermarket all through lock down and I wouldn’t do it again and I know a lot of my colleagues feel the same way.

100% agree

Likewhatever · 23/12/2024 16:26

I went to Aldi yesterday, we’ve got enough parsnips to last us till next Christmas.

EveryOtherNameTaken · 23/12/2024 16:33

I reckon about a week. Bloody delicious week it would be too!

Edited

Well it has to survive the drive to mums house so we'd better break carefully or it will have more car in it then initially planned although that would technically be tarte au ford in that case!

Darn dyslexia combined with phones autocorrect!

NameChanges123 · 23/12/2024 16:40

I've got a ton of chocolate. That will last two days...

I assumed it was an autocucumber thing but couldn't resist Grin

GameOfJones · 23/12/2024 16:46

I reckon the four of us (DH and I plus two children) could easily last a month. The milk would run out after the first week and the combinations would be interesting but we wouldn't starve.

Coconuthotchocolate · 23/12/2024 16:52

A week for food maybe 2. Booze - a month!

You’re fun

Probably 2 weeks here and majority is trifle and cheese as we’re on dessert duty
