... and none of your expected guests would be coming but you also weren't able to travel to anywhere you were expecting to go:

How long would the people currently in your house be able to survive with the supplies you currently have in the house?

I reckon we have enough cheese to last a fair while at least!

We’re going to family for Christmas and have emptied the fridge in preparation so wouldn’t be great.

We do have a lot of cheese though (as taking with) and plenty in the freezer. Also lots of booze.

We might all get scurvy

Goody2ShoesAndTheFilthyBeast · 23/12/2024 13:40

Months.
But not because of Christmas food. We'd last a couple of weeks on that.

Our loft has a couple of months supply of food and water because we can get snowed in here so every year we make sure we're prepared just in case.

Snow supplies double as zombie apocalypse supplies.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 23/12/2024 13:40

Can you eat toothpaste? 😁
For some reason we seem to have a lot of that - I think it must have been some sort of special offer.

(Toilet rolls might need rationing though.😧)

A lot of fun sponges on this thread.

It's about how long your Christmas food stash would last you, not about the politics of lockdown. Have a brandy and lighten up.

I think we'd be able to eat for a month but it would be some interesting combinations towards the end.

Thank you very much i will take you up on that 🥃
( don't tell my boss tho !)

Neves7 · 23/12/2024 14:04

Not a lot of veg since I am picking that up today but probably a couple months maybe more for the two of us. We’d be eating a lot of rice, ramen and flatbread made of various random flours though.

BCBird · 23/12/2024 13:14

Live alone. Plenty of supplies. I would not comply. I followed everything to the letter and ending up.nearly losing my.mind

The point is if shops etc closed we would have option to comply with that ,at least
I don't think anyone wants to.go back into lockdown.

Allthehorsesintheworld · 23/12/2024 14:31

Going away today and online delivery booked for day I get back so if stuck at home I’d have to exist on soup made from frozen veg, porridge, smoothies from frozen fruit 😳 and lots of tea and coffee presumably with powdered milk 😡
Could make it last 1-2 weeks but would be very boring.

PickAChew · 23/12/2024 14:33

We're good for Brussels sprouts for at least a week.

olderbutwiser · 23/12/2024 14:36

Can I go to the allotment for my one hour of exercise? If so, quite some time.

Minihero · 23/12/2024 14:44

3 weeks I reckon - if you mean literally surviving then maybe 4.

UnstableEquilibrium · 23/12/2024 14:46

Ocado have just delivered and I've been to the butchers so I think we'd be in trouble for toilet roll long before we ran out of food.

The only thing left on the "to buy" list is potatoes for some reason.

Silverfoxlady · 23/12/2024 14:53

Teenagers would eat everything in a couple of hours. We would all starve.

thehousewiththesagegreensofa · 23/12/2024 14:56

Hmmm... we have the alcohol but the mixers are arriving on the supermarket delivery later today. Could we wait a few hours before going into lockdown please?

Sinkintotheswamp · 23/12/2024 15:01

At least a week then the milk would run out.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 23/12/2024 15:02

2 weeks or so

Snowangles · 23/12/2024 15:09

Two weeks with rations no t bags though

Ohhbaby · 23/12/2024 15:10

Can it start tomorrow morning?
We just came back from a week away so the fridge is pretty bare, I was supposed to go shopping tomorrow.
We'll last 2 weeks I reckon with all the dry and freezer goods
Won't be fun though...

TeenLifeMum · 23/12/2024 15:11

We’re not going to be here for Christmas so we’d be living on the chocolate one bought for next weekend ahead of our guests arriving. Cupboards are pretty bare though, except beans as they were on offer last week.

JaninaDuszejko · 23/12/2024 15:11

We've already got MIL here for Christmas (most people who have guests for Christmas will surely be hosting already?). We could probably survive about a month, the fridges, freezers and cupboards are already groaning with food. The veg would be used up long before the sweet things and alcohol though.

Jeezitneverends · 23/12/2024 15:11

Whatevershallidowithmylife · 23/12/2024 12:33

Wouldn't matter, would never comply with with lockdown again.

This too

Ohhbaby · 23/12/2024 15:12

Neves7 · 23/12/2024 14:04

Ahh yes, pancakes first until the eggs run out and then the flatbreads. I reckon I have 3 year old chickpea flour somewhere in the back of the pantry

ItGhoul · 23/12/2024 15:13

About three weeks I think. Possibly more.

visitbreakfast · 23/12/2024 15:14

Probably a couple of days - unless we unwrap and include the kids selection boxes

BigYellowDucky · 23/12/2024 15:16

Well we are hosting 23 for Christmas so our pantry, fridge and freezer are absolutely stuffed. I think we'd be fine for a couple of months 😄.

mandarinchocolate · 23/12/2024 15:18

Probably a month, but no milk after a few days, or cream (for my coffee).
Would love a short lockdown, but wouldn't want anyone to be ill.
