I read the bit about shame switching sides and it really struck a chord with me. I really think she’s achieved it. Everyone who isn’t a complete sewer dweller is in awe of her bravery and strength, while the rapists are bowing their heads, trying to hide and snivelling that it wasn’t their fault and it’s not fair. Utterly pathetic. I believe they were handed oranges outside court, as a symbol of their shame. And his lawyer should have some kind of judicial sanction against him for his comments after the trial.

Hold your head high and look the bastards in the eye, Gisele. You are one amazing lady.

This is the most depressing story i have heard in a long time

Men are scum

She is beyond brave and admirable

Her ExH got the maximum of 20 years but he'll likely only do 2/3 of it (and he can appeal as he's got nothing to lose).
The others however were given shorter sentences than everyone was expecting, it's disgusting. The sentences range from 1 to 15 years.

How did she find out?

I'm glad he got jailed.

She deserves the best life from now on and I wish her peace and love that matches her incredible strength and resilience.

I wish that man the worst of slow deaths. I hope he gets cancer and dies a death that's riddled with memories that haunt him. Him and every man that raped her. Every man that rapes. I feel so much hate for these men.

Her husband was arrested for taking up skirt photos. When the police checked his files they found 20,000 images of abuse 😢

she had no idea. He covered their tracks, cleaning her afterwards etc. the sick fucker.

Her husband got caught up skirting. They police looked at his laptop for evidence of other such incidents and found film archives of all these rapes of her. He had filmed them all.

The police showed her a still of herself, in her bedroom ☹️.

All men have it in them to rape. They pretend they don't, but they do.
We all know this.

In fact, as a woman, getting married increases your chances of getting murdered quite considerably.

This woman is taking them all on. Amazing.

I’m sure I read somewhere that this man had gone back to rape her 6 more times, horrific if the case.

Shame has switched sides. What an incredibly brave woman Gisele is.

Her husband is now being investigated for a potential murder dating back to the 1990s as well as a separate attempted rape. There is much more to come out in this I’m afraid. Absolutely devastating case.

@NagathaCrispy 20 years is the max sentence in France for this. He might appeal the sentence.

I find most of the other sentences far too low. French society is now feeling they are not in line with sentencing and views on rape in other western countries. They seem to allow men to have a lot of defence latitude in rape cases. That’s definitely what is wrong in this case and the resultant sentencing.

With a bit of luck this will prompt a reconsideration of sentencing guidelines in France

I hope the daughter gets justice too. For whatever he did to her.

He is also linked to a rape and murder in the 90s so let's hope he is brought to justice for that if he did it.

The women are incredible. A victim a survivor and a hero.
And the security guard who called the police when he suspected up-skirting and encouraged the women in the supermarket to press charges.

I am in awe of her courage. One of the men claimed he was a victim as he had not consented to being filmed there are no words

The culture of misogyny is worse in France.

I hope this case is a turning point for French women.

Hopefully the legal definition of rape will be changed so that it mentions consent.

It is horrific to me that until she found out, she thought they were happy. Their friends and family thought they were a model couple.
and he was secretly treating her like this- and inviting other men to treat her like this.

and men wonder why some of us refuse to have anything to do with them ever again?
