Embarrassed for you

Brefugee · 18/12/2024 15:44

late to the party: free because you stole it?

Stomachbiggerthantits · 18/12/2024 15:49

That looks like a bloody glorious Christmas shop. It will be delicious and thankfully not an organic sprout in sight. Kids and adults will love it 🥰

wishing you a very Merry Christmas OP xxx

Gosh sorry 5128 - huge over reaction on my behalf 😳
You never know on Mumsnet though !
Enjoy your Christmas OP !! X

Lol. That's OK. I obviously got closer to realism than I intended, which is a bit worrying. But i was definitely joking. Best not give up my day job! 😂

Haggia · 18/12/2024 15:51

Good luck to you OP. Bet your kids will love those treats.

(Someone in our village had three chickens happily scratching around in a garden pen. UNTIL LAST WEEK!! I’m bereft every time I walk past now 😭)

From calf or adult ? Will they be ok in postage stamp garden. What's goats milk like? I'm wondering if they may need less room ?

Ooh - goats are perfect - fit nicely in a small garden, milk plus you'll never need to mow your grass again!

To the PP that mentioned Cadbury chocolate coins - don't do it - Cadbury chocolate in a coin is just wrong - you need cheapo chocolate! I was so excited to try them as I love a choccy coin, but was so disappointed!

Turns out I can love Cadburys and I can love chocolate coins, but both together? Not my favourite!

Flowersonthetv · 18/12/2024 15:55

£55

YellowAsteroid · 18/12/2024 16:10

The chocolate alone is £30

But everything else you could actually make yourself for a lot less than presumably you’re kvetching about paying.

I was very nearly seduced into a Cadbury's chocolate coin but I resisted!

I have my doubts on beating Molly's on price. You are certainly not baking digestives from scratch at that level.

I have just googled as I am not a Tesco regular and didn’t know the brand. No, you couldn’t do it yourself for 75p. I was assuming the cheesecakes were £3 - £4 each.

GasPanic · 18/12/2024 16:30

Aren't those big tubs of sweets half full of air these days ?

Twototwo15 · 18/12/2024 16:31

You've only yourself to blame OP. If you'd have spent last year turning your garden into an allotment and taking cookery classes, you'd have free organic veg and a home made dessert for 20 that cost nothing but the 'bits you keep in the larder' by now. Then you could have spent your entire budget on one enormous piece of Very High Quality meat. You should also have raised your DC to prefer nuts and tangerines over tins of chocolates. Make 2025 the year you do better!

Edited

I'm sure @PrincessofWells and @backinthebox would still find something to be disgusted about!

Manypaws · 18/12/2024 16:53

@IdgieThreadgoodeIsMyHeroine Bet they are sitting munching a KFC

Charlize43 · 18/12/2024 16:55

It's Tesco, so I'm going to guess £243 as they have this insane BS pricing structure with labels saying this like; 'Honey Roast Ham £5.45 Tesco Clubcard price £1.99.

TickingAlongNicely · 18/12/2024 16:59

If you want a scare OP, add it up for M&S (which its on Ocado I think).

I had a good laugh with the Marks food catalogue

RunAwayTurnAwayRunAwayTurnAway · 18/12/2024 17:06

I knew the food snobs would be out on this thread as soon as I saw it and I was right - Merry Christmas you get a fridge - oops wrong thread. But the food snobs head over to the Christmas Fridge thread where you can lord your superiority over everyone with your organic sprouts and free range partridge when everyone shows off their packed fridges full of processed hams and cheese.

The thing is, I'm a bit of a food snob (I actually do buy organic sprouts... 🙈), but:

A) I at least have the good grace to be embarrassed about it, and, more importantly,
B) I'm only a food snob about the food I actually eat! I couldn't give a toss what anyone else eats!

Why are you embarrassed about buying organic sprouts?
