If I like gin, will I like Aperol?

Someone told me it's an odd flavour but I've been given a bottle as a present and don't know where to crack it open or regift it.

Yes! I like gin but I think the aperol spritz is easily my favourite cocktail 🍸

Apwrol is similar to Campari. I love an aperol spritz in the summer. It’s not a winter drink

Interestingly on a ski holiday last year I had a couple of hot aperol. I'm not sure what was in them but they were very nice.

I love it and love gin but it is a slightly acquired taste. If you like plain gin and tonic you will probably like it whereas if you drink fruit gins and lemonade perhaps not.

You mix the aperol with 1/3 Prosecco and 1/3 sparkling water

When I was in Italy the Aerol spritz looked so inviting so I decided to give it a try....it was absolutely foul!!!

Id say it's more similar to Pimm's than it is to gin.

I like gin , i like aperol, not so keen on pimms though.

Perhaps get a ready made can of aperol spritz first ( aldi do a dupe) and see if you like it. If not regift the bottle. I like to Make a spritz with prosecco/fizz and soda water

I agree with this, get a ready made can and if you don't like the flavour you can regift it.

I really like it.

Like gin, don't mind Aperol, but I can't get the fact that it reminds me of the taste of dry roasted peanuts out of my mind when I drink it. I also like dry roasted peanuts!

I love a Gin, but find Aperol very bitter tasting.

Well I tried it and loved it. 😀 Maybe more of a summery drink? Had it as a spritzer and it was lovely.

Love a G&T and also love an Aperol Spritz- the Aperol is my summer/holiday lunch time drink though- never drink it elsewhere- but just one with lunch in a hot Mediterranean city square it's the perfect long drink! Glad you liked it O/P.

I had Aperol with grapefruit soda in Greece this year and it was delicious. I think they added prosecco too. Agree it needs some sweetness in it or it's bitter. One of those drinks that looks sweet and tangy but isn't.

I think there is a winter version you can make with cranberry juice. I haven't tried it but now I want to.
