I'm not sure why I never watched this back in 2007, but have finally started watching this evening!
Up to the one where they just got married.

Smithy is a horrible character but I love, love, love Nessa!

Rewatching I can’t help but notice all the smoking!

I remember when I was in uni I made friends with girl who was a cockney. I went over to hers for a big birthday and her whole family were there. Me and some other friends were put up by her aunt. It was just like staying with Pam. She cooked us all an amazing fried breakfast.

Youre in for such a treat. I wish I could go back and watch it again for the first time. Smithy really isn’t horrible. He’s one of the best written characters I reckon. He just is who he is. I reckon most of us know a Smithy or two.

I adore Pam and Mick.

It's the go to series in our house if we need a pick me up. My dd13 loves it! I think Pam and mick are the funniest. So looking forward to the Xmas special. We've just watched the other Xmas specials.

Husband and I are rewatching it at the moment, having watched it a few dozen times over the years and it’s still funny. It doesn’t matter that we know every funny line, every funny look and exactly when they’re all coming, it’s still funny.

The weird thing about James Cordon/Smithy is that I think James Cordon is Smithy in real life, he wrote the character exactly as he is. He is Smithy in every single thing I’ve ever seen him in. But I love Smithy, he can do no wrong. James Cordon on the other hand…

Alison Steadman as Pam is casting perfection. She is my absolute favourite character.

We always watch the Christmas specials on Christmas Eve, I can’t wait for Christmas Dsy this year. Highlight of the year tbh!

When we started watching DH and I were Gavin and Stacey, now we are definitely more Pam and Mick.

I adore it. It’s my safe, happy place.

I think the episodes with Dawn and Pete really stand out. I hate the Bryn/Jason storyline.

I’ve rewatched so many times. Probably the only character I’ve come to dislike is Stacey. A bit like Rory in the Gilmore Girls, when you rewatch you see how spoiled and self centred they are.

Smithy and Nessa are very similar characters.

And Dawn and Pete's surname is Sutcliffe

Surely one of the reasons it’s so good is that all the characters have their good and bad? Even the fabulous Pam and Mick. I watched it as it went out and Smithy was always an arsehole with a soft side, right from the start. And Stacey has her spoilt princess side. Gavin is mostly the straight man to the people around him -his facial reactions are perfect.
