I have never seen a good result from a bullhorn lip lift, and Apple Martin did not change my opinion.

I'm fascinated by the things and the whole hidden scar technique. It doesn't look like a good one, she's probably far too young to get a decent result.

zendeveloper · 02/12/2024 14:42

ToSleepPurchancetoDream · 02/12/2024 14:36

I don't know what that is.

But I did think her distinvtive pout doesn't seem to have been inherited from her mum or dad.

isn't GP against surgical cosmetic stuff?

Here.
If you want to feel old…Apple Martin turns 20 today.

I am a big believer in cosmetic surgery tbh. If it can improve someone's confidence about their appearance, for me it is pretty much equivalent to mental health treatment. So absolutely not shaming, I am wearing lip filler myself and had some other minor alterations here and there.
But why young women do something like this... just completely escapes me.

I love the idea of waltzing with Hungarian counts.

I now have a massive desire to read some Barbara Cartland! Xmas Grin

PlopSofa · 02/12/2024 14:43

She’s hooked up some Hungarian-Austrian aristocrat and that’s probably why she’s there.

He looks like a very second rate version of Chris. His eyes are too close together just like Harry’s.

And can we please note just how old Gywneth looks? Her hair looks like she hasn’t washed it for days.

She looks in her late 60s here but I thought she was 50s? Is the dress too that’s so aging? I’ve seen ger look much better than this.

Maybe all the faux shit has got to her?

trivialMorning · 02/12/2024 14:44

I suspect only usual thing is the newspaper coverage.

I read recently that the higher social economic classes in west - especially the younger members are increasingly reluctant to marry even slightly lower. Given that universities and work places are getting more mixed they must be mixing and meeting somewhere.

It does in many ways come across as very old fashion having Mummy and Daddy parade you around to get a suitable partner - suspect the angle newspaper going for - but expect form inside it's a fun night out mixing with similar people and parents.

CandleStub · 02/12/2024 14:46

She’s always had a funny top lip.

Her lips were always quite plump and somewhat triangular.

Apple Martin’s debut into society

CM went to Sherborne

Really?

Well posh then.

I haven't seen a good result on anyone, even on people who went to celebrity level surgeons. Looks even more unnatural when you see it in movement. I am prepared to admit it is a matter of taste though.

Pluvia · 02/12/2024 14:48

Gosh, so vulgar — and somehow very 19th century. Anyone read any Henry James, with rich Americans bringing their daughters over with the plan of landing a wealthy and titled European husband?

PlopSofa · 02/12/2024 14:48

IcedPurple · 02/12/2024 14:47

Middle class not upper class. One could say the Martins are trading up by attending such a spectacle. (I say that in the voice of Lady Whistledown).

penelopelondon · 02/12/2024 14:50

I remember Gwen back in the ol days many moons ago (yes, I've always been a bit of a fan of her) saying in an interview that they bought a house in London, he made her two kids then f-ucked off on long tours because (his words) "he was at the height of his music career and he had to pursue it", she said she had no option but to stop her (much more successful Hollywood acting career)and become a stay at home mum and house wife, she was not happy about it and I believe this is what lead to their divorce, since them I always saw him as an entitled chauvinistic prick.

desigma · 02/12/2024 14:50

people with naturally plump pouts get them enhanced too. Lots of this in hollywood.

I suspect quite a few of those in attendance at this 'ball' are Eurotrash. Mathilda the 3rd daughter of Grand Baron Von Kluedo of Scholstein am Berg.

I imagine the genuine aristocracy would run a mile from such a spectacle, though I'm open to correction on this!

XelaM · 02/12/2024 14:53

Ugly dress

GinToBegin · 02/12/2024 14:54

Is it just me who read the title and thought this was going to be about an iCar?

Patienceinshortsupply · 02/12/2024 14:55

I don't doubt for one second that Gwyneth "bought" into that event for Apple to have a platform. And it wouldn't have been for Apple's benefit, it would have been for Mommy dearest.

Apple doesn't stand a prayer with a textbook narcissist for a Mother. Moses on the other hand looked bored as hell and much more like his Dad, who to be fair just looked like your average proud Daddy. I get the feeling that Gwyneth just drags them all along in her wake.

You could well be right! Can’t imagine Prince William’s set being interested, they’d run a mile though actually his brother did…

Anyway, it’s all just a bit socially gauche!

So glad I know my own station.

I made my debut at The Red Lion. Along with 3 pints of cider and black!

5128gap · 02/12/2024 15:01

Goodness how time flies. It doesn't seem 5 minutes since everyone was saying "who'd call a baby Apple. She'll be teased at school, never taken seriously." Pleased to see the worry was misplaced and she seems to be doing very nicely for herself.

IcedPurple · 02/12/2024 15:02

XelaM · 02/12/2024 14:53

Ugly dress

It's custom Valentino and probably cost more than my annual salary.

But it looks like something you'd find gathering dust in an 'upscale' charity shop.

The tiering is tacky and that blue colour is harsh.

User14March · 02/12/2024 15:07

I’m really surprised Chris, Gwyn & her Mum going for this. Gwyn is supposed to be lovely, & despite ‘Goop’ appearing to contrary, surprisingly down to earth. Know those that know her socially.

Poss driven by Apple herself & fam are going along with it?

NotAnotherPylon · 02/12/2024 15:08

How the other half lives, eh? I'm not sure I would have been too happy with the idea of my parents presenting me to society. 'Well, here she is. Job done. Anybody wanna take her off my hands?' It's all a bit pretentious. I suppose it's an opportunity to wear a new frock and be the centre of attention, if you like that sort of thing.

Yes it seems she became the bully instead.

LBFseBrom · 02/12/2024 15:10

I knew debutantes still had a season with balls and parties but the Queen stopped the presentation business because it got out of hand, was wildly expensive for all concerned and some families couldn't afford it. Lady Diana Spencer didn't want a 'coming out' ball, I don't know if her older sisters had one
.

I’m actually really shocked by that.

Quoted wrong post!!! Of course this did not make me giggle 😖

This made me giggle was in response to the poster who thought the thread is about an apple product called Martin. Martin the new Siri or something like that
